Is GT the sales phenom that it used to be? I haven't kept up with how GT7 sold.
I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I can confirm with complete certainty that it performed better than Concord.

There was surely some time pressure. But the vast majority of Pro patches turned out very good already. This one is an outlier, not great with all the grain and motion blur noise. I was surprised by how they released it despite these glaring issues.
PSSR issues are already fixed, won't happen with future games.
So it isn't even a developer issue?
LOL this boggles my mind. NOW they investigate? They are so incompetent that they didn't see it??? Absolute clowns.
Given how old the game is, how poised the Star Wars IP is and the fact this is EA we're talking about, I expect the patch was originally made by one dev with a week long deadline.
I've had a Callisto copy waiting for so long haha. Perfect timing!

It took me some time to get used to the game. Combat especially can be difficult to get a hang on.
Once I saw some wild combo Twitter clip, I was like "oh that's how I'm supposed to play it" and it clicked. Still not the best combat and the game has flaws, but I had a good time.
GT7 patch seems nice.
I'm not a ray tracing enthusiast in the slightest. How can I be, I'm a PS5 mainly gamer! But it looks good to me. So I'll be interested to see what the verdict ends up being. It is a game I was already playing and the difference with the patch is definitely noticeable. Evening races look great now.
Awesome to hear. That's a game I'd like to see on PC, sigh.
For the 2 games I have that do a good job with ray tracing, GT7 and F1. I definitely get that "new console" feeling playing those. Youtube videos just do not sell the quality on offer at all. The lighting has a real way of making the settings look natural. It made me think about when I had a PS2 but saw the Xbox demos running in store (way back when). Usually DOA was running, and was a quality that the PS2 was not matching. I see the PS5 to Pro upgrade being a similar sort of jump.
I may have the pro, but, I have been playing Darkest Dungeon and Street Fighter 6. Played a little Horizon remaster which looks great. But these racing games are something else altogether.
Definitely consider me a ray tracing convert. What it does for the presentation in games, I love it. Any game that offers it and keeps a decent enough frame rate going, I'm choosing that setting.
So i put my base PS5 from my living room to bedroom after getting the pro.....
And now i just lay in bed playing games lol.
Ps Portal, bro! I use mine a lot more than I thought I would. So i put my base PS5 from my living room to bedroom after getting the pro.....

Ok I'm actually actually gonna try GT7 VR tonight to see how great it looks on the Pro now.
Or, I will put the headset on and play No Mans Sky, take the headset off, and realize 3 hours just passed and I have to wind down haha
I'm envisaging you clambering through caves looking for that rare northern Hemisphere underground animal that is the last one to tick off in order to complete the planetary Survey. Because much like the Pokemon, you've gotta get them all.

So is it worth the price everyone?
The missus is reluctant to allow me to grab this at xmas.
Never bet against Polyphony Digital taking full advantage of new PlayStation hardware. John Linneman gets to grips with the PS5 Pro upgrade, examining the game's enhanced 'on track' ray tracing effects, PSSR upscaling, game-changing improvements to PSVR2 plus a look at performance across 4K 60fps and 120fps modes - along with the full breakdown on just how PS5 Pro copes with an 8K output mode. It's all here!

I think it is if it is your first PS5. An extra $200ish is worth it. If you have a regular PS5 to sell to put the money towards a Pro it may be worth it then if you really want 60fps and better graphics. Paying $700+ outright for one if you have a regular PS5 and are happy with it? Probably not worth it in that situation. The improvements really are not huge yet, so in any situation you'd have to be ok with buying into the potential of the system rather then what is there right now.
