Some issues with the PC port, Alex B from DF will surely deliver an interesting video. These amateurs even use an outdated DLSS version that can be updated by simply replacing one file. Vanilla version has smearing and ghosting, updating the DLSS file eliminates that. So stupid. They implemented DLSS (it's a few clicks in UE5, it's a direct plugin) at some point in development and never bothered to update the version.

Overall, this will be interesting for my DLSS nemesis @Hostile_18 time to stop your devious lies and your manipulation. You're causing micro aggressions, also make me feel unsafe.

Compared to the native TXAA solution (and the FSR 3 image), DLSS also does not have shimmering on steel objects, and it is free of shimmering in vegetation even at 1080p resolution. The DLSS image is also the cleanest in terms of overall sharpness in comparison to other upscaling solutions and even native TXAA, without upscaling.

I don't know dude? I've been enjoying the hell out of it. Haven't noticed a ton of issues and my FPS has stayed steadily above 100 in 4K.

Stutters are there independent of hardware, but the hitches are smaller with high-end CPUs. You might not be very sensitive to that, which is great to hear. Unfortunately, I immediately notice all these spikes and it's off putting for me. Hope they or the modders will be able to fix it.

I haven't noticed it maybe 3-5 times total, usually when running around a corner outside. I'm not sensitive to it though so there's that to consider.

Any updates from those playing? Still enjoying it? I'm going to buy it at some point.

I was on PTO this past week so after I got all my house shit down I started playing it. I finished it in 3 days. I couldn't stop playing. The game is great. The atmosphere, the graphics, the fighting mechanics. It does have new game plus so I might run through it again but yeah, I'd say it's one of the best games I've played in a while.

It's really good for me as well. I like this game more that the original Silent Hill 2. Two biggest things for me is the improved combat and the improved indoor locations, that make it feel more like a real place.

I had very annoying stuttering when I started the game. Really bad. I found a Steam thread that advised to turn off Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling, and that completely sorted the issue. The thread then turned into a bunch of twats saying that it doesn't work. Well, it worked for me.

What, I never do easy mods, just QoL mods in certain games. I like a good challenge.

Don't let this guy fool you, DPAD.

I've seen what he does! So without any evidence to support that, make fun of him for his easy mode mods at every opportunity. When he tries to show you mod lists or maybe he says "look this game doesn't even have any mod that does that" just ignore his lies.

It's really well done because I only played this a few years back but so many scenes I'm questioning if this is new or not. Which is good because it just means the new scenes fit in really well.

I just got to the movie theater. I loved the extended scenes with Maria.

you hear all the tiny, 1 time mary whimpers here and there? it's so subtle.
Oh yeah so we are at about similar pace. I was at a movie theater earlier this morning. Although hospital might slow me down :D

The apartment complex seemed long that I rememberd it, so I imagine the hospital will be the same. I seem to have acquired quite a lot of ammo and health, with how through I've been exploring. Not a car in Silent Hill is intact 😅

Also, I am honestly in doubt that I will finish it. It's very draining and I apparently it's very long. We are not even half way through :p
The later levels are classic sh2 bs but extended to the max from what I peaked on twitch. I will take it slowly although, even though the game is amazing, I feel it could be a bit more condensed in the "dungeons". The open city parts are perfect. Would not change these.

Yeah I just spent an hour or so in the Hospital. I think that is my main complaint too that the "dungeons" feel a bit too much. Still its not the worst thing in the world, especially since the combat keeps things fresh. The number of jump scares, which most people don't like, but I love!

I have no idea what those matrix style flashes are meant to represent yet, or the relevance of these numbered photo cards.

I'm really enjoying the game. I prefer the original, but only because I am familiar with the story and how fucked up it is.

Give me a choice between making this version my first experience of SH2 or the original and I am recommending this new version every time.

Certain scenes just don't hit the same when you know they are coming.

The Angela look is getting a lot of attention in this game. But whoever played her has done a really good job. And Bloober with presenting such a thoughtful delivery. The supporting cast is full of good quality tbh. James is probably the weakest one.

matrix style flashes jumpscares? I don't recall any in sh2 remake so far? Plenty in alan wake 2.
yeah numbered photos I have no idea. probably ending thingy

Just certain objects you look at in game and there is a green flash on screen, maybe signifying some kind of past memory, I'm not too sure yet. May also be related to an ending.

It's hard to answer, for me at least. The modded one is better looking, but the original fits in better with the "everyday women", dream like quality.
Lmfao what? She barely looks female.

She was never really a "babe" in the original IMO.

No she wasn't, but she looked like a normal woman who had lived a very stressful life. The remake version looks like David Duchovny in a wig.

The games length has DEFINITELY been extended more than necessary.
