With the PC version on the horizon, I thought it'd be time to make an OT for this version of game. I'm very hyped to be able to play the game once it releases on PC. The particle effects look insane and should scale well with more powerful hardware.

I liked the game but its far from a masterpiece imo. Some of the mechanics are simply not fun imo. 8/10

Played it with ps plus. Game is fun! Either I suck (most likely) or it's pretty fucking hard. I love the way the trigger on the controller works for alt fire. Great roguelike shooter.

Multiple users here spoke very positively of the game and increased my desire to play it. Apparently it's pretty great.
Yup. I remember quite a bit of positive buzz surrounding the game when it first launched. I love both rogue-likes and bullet hell but didn't have a PS system so I was a bit hard to ignore it at first, till now. Lots of criticism of the protags face though. Which, having not played it, was the only thing I could agree with at the time other than aesthetics.

Anyway, I expect the positive buzz to reverse coarse a bit now while the PC version launches as the PS diehards suddenly have negative retrospective thoughts on the game.

Crossing my fingers for some cool character mods. Hoping to replace the main characters model with something like Gunvalkyrie...

Absolutely looking forward to new character models by the community. Samus Aran comes to mind.

But I'd be for Vanessa from P.N.03:

I'll be getting it on PC. I'll be interested what price they try to launch this at though. This is something I'm happy to wait for if its too expensive at launch.

Yeah price point is definitely a big unknown. At 39,99€, I'd day one the game. But I have a feeling they'll include DLC and some new content and make it a full priced game. Who knows.

It's the first proper full PS5 exclusive game as well. I think they will likely go £69.99.

Definitely possible. Then I'll hunt for a cheaper key, even if I'll have to wait for a bit. Give modders the time to include better player models.

Who am I kidding I'll day one that fucker.

I'd be like that for an IP I know Demons Souls, Last of Us: Part 1 etc. I haven't tried this so it makes the wait easier, I don't know what I'm missing. It's also slightly riskier when there's a small chance I may not like it.

On one side its been out a while and is now cheap on PS5, on the other they need to reinforce the new price point as standard and not damage the PS5 "new releases". It's a toin coss what they will go for IMO.

The game play loop was a little frustrating at first, to be fair, but slowly building permanent upgrades while testing different weapon builds and finding the best balance of 'risk/reward' looping was part of the fun. By the time I got through it once a fresh playthrough was a breeze.

Don't get discouraged PAD'rs and power through. Definitely worth the time investment.

Returnal just didn't do it for me. I tried, but i didn't like the roque aspect of it.

Sounds great! A roguelike has to have some motivating permanent upgrades to go for, otherwise I tend to not like them much.

Important part from the article:

"From what we know so far, the PC version of Returnal will have Ray Tracing effects, as well as support for NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR. Thus, these PC requirements are for its non-RT/rasterized version."

So the RT requirements are higher of course. Good to see it having DLSS. Now just need to know if the RT implementation will be worth it.

Just saw it now, holy shit at the 32GB RAM recommendation. I guess I really have to do a hefty CPU / RAM upgrade next year. Currently only rocking 16GB.

I'm going to pick this up day 1 as long as Sony stick with the £49.99 price point.

Not too hyped considering the OT didn't go past one page on PS5 release lol.

The PS5 OT did.
