I had the same feeling when I played it. It was completely its own unique experience (while borrowing from other games/genres of course) and was just executed so extremely well. I am not someone who really buys DLC, but after 70 hours of playing the game and getting the platinum on PS5, I was ready to buy any DLC or expansion they put out. Now, I just want a sequel or a new IP using the same core components that made Returnal so good.

Returnal - April 19th Patch is Now Available

Greeting from Atropos!

We have a new update today that adds AMD's FSR 2, an option to manually rebuild your PSO cache data, and a number of other bug fixes.

Break the cycle on PC and find the April 19th patch notes below!

PATCH NOTES:
  • Upgraded to AMD FSR 2
  • Added option to manually rebuild PSO cache to Settings > Graphics
  • Fixed specific hitches that can occur during boss fights
  • Fixed out of world issue when loading into the start room of Crimson Wastes after suspending
  • Fixed issue with sandstorm appearing where it shouldn't in Crimson Wastes
  • Fixed issue with sandstorm vignette sometimes appearing on Crimson Wastes after suspending

What do the sun fragments do? I think I've got all but one piece left to find. Still spending most of my time in the tower. Think my highest score it's high end 5 million.

I feel like I remember his purple rings and bullet hell being hard to dodge consistently for me. But it was years ago, so it's hard to remember. But yeah he's a toughie. I'm looking forward to you seeing the 3rd and 4th bosses lol

A game hasn't hooked me like Returnal in a long time. I just started playing (on PS5) a week or 2 ago and I already have 25 hours played. The gameplay is so good, it pulls me away from my neverending Rocket League addiction.

I know there was a launch PS4 game: Resogun that was "ok". Honestly I think it's the mix of third person shooter and story, in combination with the rogue like elements that has me hooked. I don't think there are too many comparable games. Shame we probably won't get a sequel.

It's not a 1:1 comparison, but I think Remnant 2 is pretty close. I played the first Remnant on PS4 prior to Returnal on PS5. Returnal is the superior game, especially with melee combat, enemy design, and player mobility, but I felt like Remnant was at least in t he same ballpark. I had fun with it. These three areas were improved in Remnant 2 (from what I can tell; haven't played it yet) so it might be worth checking out if you haven't already

I'll definitely bear it in mind mate. Got a bit of a back log at the moment. Baldur's Gate and Amoured Core are also calling my name.

Now imagine the launch of the PS5 version with crashes and bugs. I'd be 2+ hours into the best run I had ever had and it would fucking crash. Or I'd get stuck in a side room because the portal wouldn't open again to let me out.

118 hours, its going to over take Elden Ring and Cyberpunk as my most played Steam game (for now).

I still need that last Sun fragment. On the Tower I got a new high score of 8 million+ which took me to 2457 on the world-wide leaderboard. Not bad for using a Duel Sense. You can really rack up the buff's, think I had +70% weapon damage and +50% protection. Still a few bonus rooms I want to learn how to cheese to get the most out of.

@Musky_Cheese Did you play this game earlier this year? It's my game of the year and a good recomendation.
