Pavlov is another native 90 hz game so it looks and runs great.

I tried gt7 finally and the reprojection blur artifacts are definitely there but it's not as pronounced as after the fall or resident evil 8 since you can't drive sideways.

Yeah I was theorizing that it's not bad because you are focused ahead of you, on the road. But one of the coolest things to do in the game is turn and look at cars you are passing by, and damn do you really see the reprojection pretty hard on the cars when you do that.

I'm not complaining too hard as it's an awesome game made even more awesome in VR, but once you see it you can't quite unsee it.

I'm coming around on the psvr 2. The games that are also on pcvr really struggle to run on fairly good hardware.. I still think it would have been nice to have an 80 hz option though for games that struggle at 90 but can achieve 80. I was complaining about after the fall reprojecting but apparently a lot of people end up turning shadows off in order to play at 90 fps. The game looks like a ps3 game, but it's unity engine, and throws a lot of enemies out there, so I guess that's why it runs like a turd.. Unreal >>>>> Unity.

Pavlov is my love though, it's keeping me away from resident evil... The gunplay is so crisp, it looks fantastic and runs extremely well. The devs did such a good job with it. Hopefully more people pick it up. It's kind of a throw back game with dedicated servers and everybody gets to know each other.

Yeah my brother and I just got done playing Pavlov for almost 3 hours. I keep wanting to play more RE8 or Song in the Smoke or something, but can't stop playing Pavlov. It's just fun. It makes me really excited for the new Firewall. They'll have a way bigger budget and will feel like a much bigger, more complete game, but I just hope they nail the gunplay as well as Pavlov has.

I hope more and more people pick up pavlov. The word of mouth is really strong on that game. We should be getting cross play soon with pc and hopefully mods…

There doesn't seem to be much information about firewall other than some tricks they are doing with eye tracking. They had a bit of a monopoly on psvr 1 but they're facing some stiff competition now with pavlov…

The first Firewall could have been quite damn good, but they made some horrible decisions. It was peer-to-peer online only, no dedicated servers. So if the host left, the game ended. The rounds were often very short. You'd have loading screens into and out of each game and then there was a timer in the lobby menu.

So basically, if you played the game for 2 hours, you were inside of a round actually playing it for less than one of those two hours. It was so frustrating. And they kept breaking the lobby system in weird ways and it would take a month for a patch. But everything concerning the actually game was great.

The main reason I didn't pick up Firewall was cross play. Being that it's a PS exclusive, there's no one to cross play with. At least with Povlov you always have people to play with, with Quest/PC.

That could be a pretty big problem. The pcvr online shooter community isn't that large, but it's still another stream of players.

I only played it for 3-4 months (got it at launch) and it seemed to have a very healthy playerbase at the time. I do like the idea of having crossplay to keep games alive longer, but it was surprising how popular Firewall got. The biggest letdown ever was that game RIGS not having a playerbase as it was such an awesome game.

I was also pretty surprised at a game like Racket Fury which was crossplay on PSVR1 and I just couldn't ever find someone to play against. And it's table tennis, so that shit is 1v1 lmao

I hate to be a Debbie Downer but PlayStation customer service is easily the worst I've ever dealt with next to Lowes and Samsung. Had to talk to 3 different people on multiple days who didn't have any of my info each time. I finally got off the phone today and they're sending me a box in 7 days and I have no idea if they are repairing it, replacing it or what. I asked if they could send me a confirmation.... nope. I don't get it.

Every time I've had to get a "repair" done, they take mine in, make sure it's not like infested with cockroaches or something that would give them cause to say it's not repairable, and then they just immediately send out either a brand new or refurbished replacement. They aren't going to repair a unit on the fly and send it back like that. I assume they stockpile these, have people fix them, then use those as refurbished replacements.

With this being a week after launch, I am like 99% sure you are just getting sent a brand new retail package because it's not like they have some huge stockpile of repaired units.

So what do you guys think about comfort so far?

I can't seem to wear this one in a way that makes it as comfortable as PSVR1. I can still play for hours, but the headset slides ever so slightly, causing readjusting, and retightening, and eventually just an uncomfortable feeling on my forehead during those hours. It only needs to move the tiniest amount to lose that sweet spot.

I could wear the PSVR1 all day and barely notice it was on. I think it's the silicone material on the PSVR2. It will undoubtedly hold up longer than the textured rubber of PSVR1 but it's much less effective for comfort.

It's the only headset I've ever been able to wear with glasses, which is saying A LOT.

I don't wear glasses (yet) but I could easily see that being the case. I just can't quite seem to figure out why the PSVR1 rested so perfectly on my head, but this one can be such a struggle.

Comfort for me is mostly good except for my forehead. It's either , A-my forehead is too big, or B- I have it on too tight. It's likely I wear it too tight to get the largest FOV possible.

I do have a big guito head though.

Just downloaded a No Man's Sky patch. Tried VR again and it seems to be a bit better.

I didn't see patch notes but the game appears much less jagged to me. (Could be placebo so there's that)

Do note that things in the distance are still a bit blurred, but once you get past that, it's quite nice.

I just picture it as a heat haze or DOF in my head.

Flying is exhilarating. Good stuff.

I never tried the psvr 1 but this isn't as comfortable for me as the quest 2 with elite strap. It's hard to find both a comfortable position and be in the sweet spot. I also don't like how the top strap just smashes my hair in the front.

Oh man GT7 sure is fun so far. I'm still early in, but I got my B license and I've bought a yellow Corvette Stingray. Putting assistance on Expert and counter steering to off actually feels like it made it easier to drive to me so far. It's so weird when the game starts braking your car when you aren't pressing anything lol. I get that it's all on by default to help people who just want to hold R2 and win races, but damn it feels weird as hell.

One thing that's really important to get right for firewall is the virtual stock. Pavlov has the best virtual stock in the business. I've never played firewall but I think everybody used that gun controller for that game which doesn't look like it will be an option this time around. A good virtual stock removes the need for it anyway.

I really hate the one they use in re village though, same with the one in onward. Contractors has a really good implementation but Pavlov's is simply the best.

Pavlov is becoming like a daily grind for my brother and I lately. Just did another 2.5 hour session. The only reason we even stop is because his legs start hurting too much. I'm liking this game more and more the more I play it.

I haven't even tried the virtual stock, though. I should at least check it out because I really like using the sights and scopes.

Absolutely try the virtual stock. Your dominant hand doesn't have the ability to tilt the gun in two hand mode so that your off hand is responsible for lining up the sights. It makes it much easier to line up targets.

Also, if you don't already have this enabled keep auto sprint on. You can deduce your run speed by not pressing as far on the analog stick or just bringing up your gun.

Yeah I'll definitely check it out next time. And that auto sprint is a good idea too.

What's funny is I spent my first like 5+ hours thinking I had to stow my gun away on my back before I could sprint. It wasn't until I was bitching about dropping my gun for the millionth time that my brother was like why do you keep trying to put it on your back anyway? And he was like uhhh dude you just point your gun down to sprint lol

I'm glad he got his controllers fixed. It looks like it was far from an isolated issue.

Oh they are still fucked. He has to reset the controller after booting the game and it only works for that session. And some games like RE8 just don't work at all no matter what he tries.

I've done everything I can to convince him to do a return and exchange. Now it's up to him. People are hooking these up to input detectors and finding that this is a genuine hardware fault and I don't know if there's a software fix that's realistic anymore.

Sing in the smirk devs keep winning. Give them your hard earned cash boys, they deserve it.

You fuckers are supposed to be buying Song in the Smoke anyway.

It's easily one of the best games of the launch and one of the top VR games made. Yes, it's made by a small team and you can't go in expecting Resident Evil 8 or Gran Turismo 7 budgets, but they blow away what most teams are doing in the VR space. It's a great, addictive gameplay loop.

One issue in RE8 that keeps happening to me is that the contents in your jacket slots sometimes take forever to load in and sometimes don't load at all.

So you're like hey this giant fucker jumped down, maybe it's a good time for a pipe bomb. Nope, it won't load. Oh he hit me while I was waiting. I'll open the jacket flap again. Nope, still not there.

I haven't had the same motivation to play this game as I did for resident evil 4. I think there is maybe too much taking control away from me the player so I can watch a cutscene take place. That exists for sure in resident evil 4, but it doesn't happen as frequently and then the game is just action packed. Pavlov just keeps steeling my time when I can put on the headset. Maybe o should just move on to sing in the smoke?

How far in are you? I found myself complaining about that for the first 2-2.5 hours of the game for sure. It still has cutscenes through the rest of the game but they are much shorter as it goes on and the gameplay portions become more of the focus.

I'm really liking it a lot, but it sure isn't perfect. I think RE7 is a much better VR game. And of course RE4 VR was awesome. There is way more horror in RE8 than RE4, so there's some good stuff to look forward to if you keep pushing through.

During a fireside chat at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference on Monday, Sony executive deputy president and chief financial officer Hiroki Totoki was asked to evaluate PS VR2's launch and what the company's expectations for the hardware are going forward.

"We are very happy to launch VR2 on PS5," he said. "VR1, we sold over five million units, and I think we have a good chance to exceed that amount with PlayStation VR2."

Totoki went on to reference forecasts that the overall VR market could be one of the largest growth areas in the media and entertainment segment during the first half of this decade.

If accurate, he said there's "good potential" for the VR/AR market and also "good potential of technology development in this field as well".

I have had the physical copy sealed on a shelf for over a year lmao

I purposely didn't buy it at launch and then there was a black friday deal for it, but I just knew they'd do a PSVR2 patch. Then the patch was finally announced and I was so glad I had avoided everything about it. So yeah, this is a first playthrough, almost totally blind, in VR. The same way I played RE7. Great experience so far, small nitpicks aside. The section I was talking about there was the Barbie Dreamhouse section lol

Awesome. I played RE7 blind in VR as well and that shit was life changing.

I'm envious you're playing this one blind as well.

Now, I must know what part freaked you out. There's only one section that I felt they nailed the creep factor for me. I'm curious.

Yeah RE7 in VR was something I always described as a "Mario 64" tier gaming experience. It was so incredible and it's unfortunate that most people won't get to play it that way as a first time.

Oh the part that freaked me out was what I had described as the "Barbie Dreamhouse" section. Figured that would get the point across without spoilers for anyone else haha. I spent most of the time walking around with my pistol drawn, pointing it at things that made sounds around me :ROFLMAO:

Yyyyyep! That's the part. I'm sure in VR, blind no less the anxiety was through the roof. 😁

But that's what makes it brilliant.

I'm pretty sure my game is bugged. I was tortured by the vampire ladies. I'm suppose to go through the fireplace and then get a little ruby. Unfortunately the fireplace won't open for me. I see little circles indicating I'm suppose to interact with it but if I try and grab it or press x nothing happens. Sometimes when I reload a save one or the doors is open but I can't go through it. I just give up and play pavlov.

Just to be totally sure (because I found myself stuck in that fucking castle for way too long because of that "ruby") have you already gotten to the save room with the Duke merchant?

That "ruby" you are supposed to get actually comes off of a ring that you only get after examining the ring in the keys tab on the menu. Is it possible you already went through the fireplace tunnel and got the ring at the end of it?

Because if you go back into that room, the fireplace will for some stupid reason sometimes still have interact icons despite not being able to interact with it again. If you have the ring with the eye, you just examine it, get the eye ruby off, and use it in the door upstairs. I was stuck on that for so long despite examining just about every item other than that one...
