Cool cheers, so I'll go for the normal non-bundled version and the dock for £365ish, since buying a few games extra will take that back to £500 anyway ha.

edit - Fuck I just realised theres only the CotM bundle in stock at work, fuck it I can't be bothered waiting for delivery lol so I'll just take the hit on the extra. Hmmm also now thinking they probably don't have the charging dock in stock, I make do without that for a few days though anyway.

Be sure to also check into Walkabout Minigolf. Really great minigolf game with tons of courses. If playing online with people is your jam, that's supposed to be really good but I've only really played it solo.

Manual reloading, adaptive triggers and irl ducking to take cover has ruined flatscreen FPS games for me.

I can't go back to pressing a button to reload when a manual reloaded bolt action sniper feels so satisfying. Not to mention exhilaration I feel from having to manually reload an automatic rifle in the middle of an online firefight.

Dual wielding in After the Fall is so satisfying. Popping zombie heads while shooting gangsta style or at two different targets is the tits.

My brother and I were finally able to link up with our fucked up schedules to play some Walkabout Minigolf online together. Damn, that shit was fun!

I've only ever played it solo, but it's way more fun playing against someone. It's just so well made. And since I bought the bundle, I can bring us both into all the DLC courses and all he had to spend was $15.

Alright so for the 1.3 people who care, you know I had to go and grab Beat Saber and check it out and compare it to the Quest version I played a bunch late last year (I realize how late I was to the Beat Saber craze).

This PS VR2 version has a lot going for it. The levels look better, everything looks more clear, there are effects like reflections not present on the Quest, the walls have this cool effect going on and when you pass through them it sounds like you are underwater. Also, the sound quality is so much better. That was a huge complaint for me on Quest. A music game with bad audio quality is the worst mistake you can make.

Also, this version actually has 360 degree levels. It just warns you to not die from getting yourself tangled up in the wire (and even suggests figuring out a ceiling rig lmao). But that's fucking awesome that they included it in this version because from what I read, they wouldn't allow it on PSVR1 because of the cable.

Well here's a weird one:

Pretty much all first person shooters need to find their way to VR. Somehow I missed this one back in the day, but i'll be trying it out in VR. I know this wont happen but now that helldivers has moved to third person with part 2.... I would love to somehow get a PSVR hybrid game for that one. I have 33 hours in the original one.

I know only like 3 people on DPAD own this thing, but anyone playing anything cool lately?

My brother and I both bought this new Crossfire Sierra Squad game and will check it out later today. It's a nice co-op military shooter that people say has Time Crisis vibes. Looking forward to it.

I'm also still very addicted to Beat Saber and recently bought a copy of Synth Riders. And my copy of RE4 is patiently awaiting the VR mode patch.

I kinda feel like the tweet above. I was stoked to get it and was amazed by some of the games but it's been pretty barren games and news wise. I don't understand why most of the vr1 titles aren't available. I'd like to play a cool ping pong, bowling, tennis etc game but it's not there.

Unfortunately, I DO regret my purchase and if I am going to delve into VR again, it will probably be Meta Quest 3.

This thing dying so early shows that not even fervor of rabid Sony fans can make a VR add-on work if the company itself has no real intentions of giving strong support with real and innovative first part titles, what Sony did put out were the run of the mill VR shovelware.

The one thing Sony did this time was be 100% honest with their trash launch lineup and not lying about not giving it a real effort from the moment they announced it.

VR is a niche thing, it's going to stay that way for a very long time, going the way of the 3D TV eventually and looked back upon as that "fucking weird thing some people did".

This guy's just a ball of sunshine. Also incorrect. PSVR2 sales may not be setting the world on fire, but it's tracking even my with VR1. Also factor in MetaQuest 3 is going to explode this holiday season and Apple will also be expanding the market as well.

VR may still be fairly niche , but it's not going anywhere. It will evolve and improve over time.

To answer @Grinchy s question. I've been playing NMS and a bit of Synapse as well.

I keep meaning to buy Synapse, but I've been holding off. So much to play ATM. I gotta try that damn NMS patch too.

VR comes around as a sopposedly viable medium every 20 years or so. It gets smaller and more visually impressive each time, but it's always an expensive niche product with very little application beyond entertainment.

And that entertainment is never as good as the more traditional alternatives, not least of all because VR has as many limitations as it does unique features.

It's a toy for those with lots of money and the particular tastes needed to find VR content more engaging than any other.

That's a very small niche group of people.

Regardless of whether it's Playstation, Facebook or Apple, VR just isn't going mainstream. It will avrely be a niche.

Because when you get down to brass tacks, VR, fundamentally, is the answer to a question no one was asking.

I think only when they're able to make 100% lightweight and non-bulky wireless units will we ever see great adoption. It's not going to replace screens or ANYTHING for at least another 10-20 years if ever.

It took the game industry to truly figure out the transition to 3D from 2D, Ninja Gaiden Black had figured it out, then very few games after that really figured it out.

VR will take infinitely longer because there's no focus on it.
