Super Mario Bros. Wonder is one of the best 2D platformers, I wish the overworld were a bit more fun to traverse though. SMB3 had those minigames and battles versus Hammer Bros, and a few legendary secrets like the flutes / whistles

I thought the overworld was good, it had some really well done secrets and neat bonus content like the music coin collection game and wiggler races. The hidden Ninji level was really fun to find and play.

Wonder if this will scale resolution for b.c. Switch games running on Switch 2.

Hope so, I still haven't played a lot of highly acclaimed Nintendo Switch games and if the graphics got a bump upwards just by playing on the NS2 then that would be incredible imo. Everything already suits my tastes on the NS, but an increase in how smooth and detailed things looks would be nice too. I'm not one of those gamers who studies shadows and lighting and play games because a puddle reflects light more accurately. Good art style is all I care about. Xenoblade Chronicles X is coming out soon by the way

Wonder how fast it will take before we get Switch 2 emulation

I disagree. At ~$400 its an impulse buy for most. The cheapest steam deck is $400. It will do just fine.

I know, but the Steam Deck has only sold a few million units. The Switch 2 needs to sell 150 million of them. They need to sell 8 million in around a month. $400 is too much IMO. Although, seeing as the Switch OLED currently runs $350, I don't see it happening. Unless they launch Switch 2 at the current OLED price and then discount the OLED by $100.

$400 is too high. It needs to be $350 max. But the more I consider it they are probably right; I just can reasonably see a system coming out for less than $400. I hope I'm wrong though.

$300 is the smart choice for the market. Disregard anyone who says "that won't be powerful enough" as if that ever truly dictated how Nintendo hardware performs.

Switch 2 may come with an LCD says anonymous Redditor...

Disappointing if true. I'll still jump in Day One, but I won't be as hyped. Needs an OLED.

Everything else about it sounds great, though. But man, they really need to figure out how to make it more comfortable to play as a handheld if they're going to keep pushing a better handheld screen experience.

I see the cycle is starting up. Now all the random twitters will post "leaks" and then the youtubers will make endless videos about all the leaks.
My brothers uncle told me it's 240hz screen and wii games are coming to NSO. Trust me bro

The first version will likely be less premium feeling than the OLED Switch.

Look at Nintendo's approach to handheld tech over the generations to get an idea of how they work with system refinement and premium double dipper bait.

The GBA SP and GB Micro both had better build quality and screens than the DS at launch.

The DSi/XL both had better build quality and screens than the 3DS at launch

The n3DS/XL had much better build quality, and advanced features like eye tracking 3D, compared to the Switch at launch. Depending on the model and IPS screen quality, I'd argue the n3DS could have had a better screen too, minus size and resolution, obviously.

The OLED switch is still a premium product. The base Switch is what Switch 2 will be replacing, and that was and is $300, and I expect a build quality to match.

Why are people saying It should be $300 when even based on inflation alone the current Switch would have launched for $390?

We're lucky they didn't raise the price on the outdated Switch. $400 is even starting to sound lofty. I want a piece of hardware worth owning and $300 is how you get shitty controllers without analog triggers and sticks that drift mere months after purchase. You end up with barely too little RAM and clocks just too slow...

GameCube to NSO eventually? It seems extremely likely if not guaranteed at some point

And this is what I am talking about. A parent showing a non descript image and people are extrapolating that it must be a GC controller and then must mean GC is coming to NSO.
This probably provided hours of content for spawn wave and RGT85

What would be really cool is if they simply remastered Melee and sold a GameCube style Switch 2 controller. It would be an excellent filler whole we wait on the next Smash Bros.

Wonder if that's why we never got Wind Waker on Switch. Probably holding back the GC library to help push people towards upgrading to the Switch 2.

It's just my hunch here in saying this, but I have a feeling that Shuntaro Furukawa intends for NSO to be pushed strongly by the success of the NS and the upcoming NS2. Players of all ages introduced to the classics, everyone has the opportunity to learn about, have access to, and play the classics so that the world can be up to date with (mostly) all of the great games Nintendo has released since the early 80s forward. It's a genius strategy. And while I personally give the NSO a rating of A- and think it can be better, it's already flooded with countless games I want to play. With the GameCube library and maybe even Wii library one day, gamers will essentially be brought up to speed and then my guess is that Nintendo is going to expand, expand, expand in the near future. Like I said, genius strategy if that's what he's after and it sort of looks like it is

TWW HD and TP HD will probably make their way to NS2 at some point, same with Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Remastered and probably Super Mario Galaxy 2 Remastered. They might roll those pups out a few years from now

A couple of months ago, I would have nominated @Franky Family but now I question his allegiances to Nintendo.

Who else is a big Nintendo fan on here? It probably shouldn't be me as I'm pretty jaded even if I do continue to buy most of their products.

Here's the one I was thinking of, there's already a ton of posts in it with some speculation
