I think I'm taking Strickland in this one. If he can weather the initial storm, I can see him outpacing Dricus. Sean's no slouch on the ground.

Thats kind of how I feel. Its a five round fight. So DDP will either TKO Strickland in RD 1/2 or Sean will start pulling ahead due to pace and cardio. But we have only ever seen DDP in three rounders, so its hard to predict how he will fair in the later rounds. Strickland on the other side has proven he can go full speed for five rounds.

Plus it would be delicious to see people's head explode if Strickland wins. So many are just assuming DDP will walk right through him.

Absolutely. Dricus says his cardio is off the charts after having his nose fixed but there's been no reason to believe it so far. He tends to struggle after round 2 as far as cardio goes.

Jasudavicius beat the tar out of Cachoeira. One of the more brutal WMMA fights. I really wanted it to go to decision to see those 10/8 rounds lol

Currently watching all the ghibli movies with my girlfriend. Starting with the first (unofficial) one.
So far we watched:
1. Nausicaä and the valley of winds
2. The castle in the sky
3. Boy and the heron (in the cinema)

My current ranking from best to worst
1. boy and the heron
2. The castle in the sky
3. Nausicaä

Will keep you updated with ever new one I watch. I watched Mononoke but I'll rank that one after our rewatch.

And yesterday we watched "Badland hunters" with Don Lee. I just love Don Lee he's my modern day Bud Spencer. But this film wasn't that good. His Round-Up movies have been way better. Though there are some nice scenes, this one was a 5-6/10. ☹️

UFC 298 Tonight
While Volk is the heavy favorite tonight, the fight is still make/break for him. Coming off that head kick KO loss to Islam, can Volk comeback and cement his reign at Featherweight? Or does a loss tonight start the beginning of the end of a great career.

We also get another test with Whittaker and Costa. BOTH need a dominant win bad if they want to stay in the title picture. Costa has been on the shelf for year and half so I think he has more to prove.

And then yet another test with Cejudo and Dvalishvili. Cejudo has straight up said he either wins this one or he retires (again).

So it should be a good card overall.

(early)Prelims begin at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT on ESPN+ and UFC Fight Pass
Prelims 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on ESPN and ESPN+
Mainain card on ESPN+ pay-per-view starting at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on Saturday.

Robert Whittaker (185.5) vs. Paulo Costa (185.5)
Geoff Neal (170.5) vs. Ian Garry (170.5)
Merab Dvalishvili (135) vs. Henry Cejudo (135)
Anthony Hernandez (185.5) vs. Roman Kopylov (185)
Amanda Lemos (115.5) vs. Mackenzie Dern (116)
Marcos Rogerio de Lima (261.5) vs. Junior Tafa (249)
Rinya Nakamura (135.5) vs. Carlos Vera (135.5)
Mingyang Zhang (204.5) vs. Brendson Ribeiro (205.5)
Josh Quinlan (169) vs. Danny Barlow (171)
Oban Elliott (170.5) vs. Valentine Woodburn (169.5)
Andrea Lee (125.5) vs. Miranda Maverick (126)

Hoping to wake up in the morning and see pictures of an unconscious Ian Garry.

Got Volk beating Topuria, Whittaker beating Costa and Merab beating Cejudo.

UFC 298 was one of the best cards in a long time. Almost every fight was a banger.

Volk is def on the way out and Dern earned my respect for being a straight up dawg.

UFC 299 was an absolute banger. But the best part was seeing all the UFC fanboys (finally) admitting that MVP is "ufc caliber".

Fucking clowns. It was obvious as hell that MVP (and many other Bellator fighters) are as good or better than most of the UFC roster.

Many good fighters at Bellator. Comparisons are aways difficult, with styles and match ups. Ben Askren got his ass whooped in the UFC for example. Other would do way better.

Some really good fights! With big names even on the early prelims. Very solid.

Daaaaamn!!!! Max KOed Justin the last second of the fight. Amazing!

And the Pereira finsihs was sweet too. Hill kicks him square in the nuts, but Alex wont let Herb pause the actions. Classic.

Fucking insane, Holloway with the absolute Chad finish. He would've won either way but decided to stand and bang, delivering a thunderous KO.

Overall really good event, and surprise, Pereira is still a beast.
