DAAAYM! Both Belts changing hands. And that KO of Amasov was so insane. Was kinda like a takedown sprawl that caused Amasov to faceplant on the canvas HARD!

(according to Chatri) ONE Championship is doing well and looking to grow in 2024.

"ONE is on track to hit north of [$100 million] in revenues for 2023 and approximately [$200 million] in revenues for 2024," he wrote. "Our viewership metrics are up triple digits in terms of percentage growth as our live events have tripled to [approximately] 60 in [2023] vs. [approximately] 20 in 2022. Amazingly, ONE is now broadcast live every week to over 190 countries around the world. Most importantly though, ONE is on track to hit profitability in its core business by the second half of 2024."

I hope he is accurate, cuz since PFL bought Bellator, ONE is now the only real alternative to UFC. I mean there is Rizin (which is great) but they do too few cards. But with PFL giving many Bellator fighters the boot, maybe Rizin will pick up some (relativly) big names.

Looking forward to the Colby vs Leon fight. It'll be action packed!

It will be something. Colby cannot hang with Leon on the feet so we will be looking for the takedown and smother. So if Colby gets his way it will be a boring slog. But if it goes Leon's way, boom KO.

This puts me in a precarious situation as I do not like Leon and and only slightly dislike Colby less.

What is interesting is what comes after. Winner should face Balel. Doing a trilogy with Usman seems unneeded at this point (and he is coming off that loss to Chimaev at middleweight). In fact a Balel/Usman fight would be pretty good. And if that screws up the timeline for either to face the winner. Could have the champ defend against the winner of WonderBoy/Rakhmonov if either wins in a convincing fashion in December.

Just ran into Tim Kennedy at the grocery store! I knew he lived in the Austin area, but no clue we shopped at the same HEB. I didn't harass him or ask for a picture, just said he was great and that I was a fan. Was maybe 30s exchange. Talk about random.

You didn't even attempt a takedown?

Kerry Hatley needs a talking to after that late stoppage in the Turner/Green fight.

Yea that was pretty terrible. You could hear (at least) Cormier shouting "its over" repeatedly. I am sure it was only a few seconds late....but it seemed like forever when Green's limp body was getting nailed.

Edit: Looks like it was a solid 10 seconds of unnecessary blows.

I hope he does lasting damage to Paddy. Not really, I'm overexaggerating to make a point but I can't stand Paddy. The judges robbed Gordon in that fight and Paddy had the audacity to jump on the mic and shout "'oooooos a hype train' after getting a hiding. The boy needs humbling.

With how much Tony respects some of the more prominent coaches throughout his career. It's time to transition now. I don't want to see him fight again. I don't think I would watch the next time.

That's what I said after his last fight. Dude needs to stop, for his own good.

So I knew that PFL had purchased Bellator and that they were going to run both through 2024. But today I actuallly went to Bellator's site to see when a new card was going to happen and its just got a big PR release on the merger.

PROFESSIONAL FIGHTERS LEAGUE ACQUIRES BELLATOR IN INDUSTRY TRANSFORMATIVE DEAL
PFL Forms Global Powerhouse Poised to be MMA Co-Leader
PFL + Bellator Combined Fighter Roster Equal to UFC – Both Rosters 30% Top 25 World-Ranked
PFL to Launch Reimagined Bellator in 2024 with Bellator International Champions Series
PFL Champions vs. Bellator Champions in Landmark MMA Mega-Event to be Staged in 2024

NEW YORK (MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2023) - Professional Fighters League (PFL) announced it has completed the acquisition of Bellator from Paramount Global creating a global powerhouse in mixed-martial arts (MMA) and accelerating the combined company to become the industry co-leader.

PFL has acquired an immense number of top fighters through the Bellator acquisition, and its combined fighter roster is now equal in stature to UFC. PFL and UFC both showcase rosters that are 30% comprised of fighters who are top 25 independently world-ranked in their weight- classes. In addition, PFL + Bellator now has the best roster of women's fighters in the world. All newly acquired Bellator fighters will become part of the PFL platform and available to compete in PFL fight franchises.

PFL will continue the Bellator brand, and Bellator will be the "one-off" event product from PFL. PFL will launch a reimagined Bellator product in 2024 – the "Bellator International Champions Series." The Bellator International Champions Series will consist of eight fight events each year hosted in major cities across the globe, and each Bellator event will feature two compelling co-main fights competing for championship belts.

Bellator becomes one of five live fight franchises of the Professional Fighters League: PFL League Season, PFL PPV Super Fights, PFL Challenger Series, PFL International Leagues, and Bellator. Overall, the company can now meet fan and media demand by producing and programming a year-round calendar of live fight content with 30 premium MMA events per year.

PFL as a fighter-first and fan-focused organization plans to stage a landmark mega-event in 2024 – PFL Champions vs. Bellator Champions. The PFL Champions vs. Bellator Champions mega-event will feature the champions of each promotion in all seven weight-classes in a head- to-head epic fight experience.

Details of Bellator events, distribution, partnerships, and management will be announced at a later date.

Donn Davis, PFL Chairman and Founder, and Peter Murray, PFL CEO, continue to lead and operate the combined company.

"PFL is now a global powerhouse in MMA," said Donn Davis, PFL Founder and Chairman. "Our Bellator acquisition turbocharges PFL's mission to innovate the sport and become the industry co-leader."

"The combined PFL and Bellator fighter rosters are second to none in MMA," said Peter Murray, PFL CEO. "We can't wait to bring MMA fans what they have been asking for - best vs best with the PFL Champions vs Bellator Champions Mega-Event."

MMA with 650 million global fans is the third largest fan-base of all sports worldwide. MMA is the sports growth business of this decade with its current $1.75 billion industry revenue projected to grow 10% annually to $4 billion by 2032.

Bellator has served fighters and fans worldwide for more than a decade, staging an astounding 301 major MMA fight events. Bellator has successfully identified and developed dozens of acclaimed MMA world champions. PFL is the only organization in MMA with the sports-season format, where individual fighters compete in a regular season, playoffs, and championship each year. The combined roster of PFL and Bellator boasts 30% of its fighters independently world-ranked in the top 25 of their respective weight-class, the same percentage as UFC. PFL has an expansive global vision for the sport and is building the "Champions League of MMA" with PFL Europe, PFL MENA, and more international leagues in development. PFL leads in technology and innovation, with its proprietary PFL SmartCage, powering fight analytics, real-time betting, AI scoring, and a next- generation viewing experience. It was a fun year

Its a bitter sweet year for MMA in my world. Saw the last Fedor fight ever...and yet another promotion I love get bought out. While I sporatically watched UFC in the 90's, I started watching MMA seriously with Pride...then it got bought out by UFC. So I got into Affliction (which didnt last long) and then Strikerforce....which got bought by UFC. Then I got into Bellator....gets bought by PFL.

So I guess now its just UFC and Asian promotions (Rizin & One)

I hope Vadim Nemkov follows MVP and goes UFC in 2024. Guy is way too much talent to waste in PFL.

That finish by Ankalaev! So brutal. Broke that nose for sure. Walker immediately covered/grabbed it.

As much as previous PFL events have sucked (in many ways).....this upcoming event has me kinda hyped.

Basically Bellator Champs vs People I have never heard of before. Will be funny if Bellator does a clean sweep. But also I want to see Nemkov at HW. If he is just as quick, but with a little more strength and power, he will rule the HW division of PFL for a while.
