Thread: Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet - Reveal Trailer (new Naughty Dog game, featuring the Pet Shop Boys)
The internet. It can be... This

Plot of the game supposedly leaked

The open world with melee gun and vehicle combat sounds cool.
The survival horror twist not sure on.

Don't care about the story I don't play videogames for stories. Why not make the female character hot with big gozangas?

OH WOW. How very... unoriginal and derivative. Just a bunch of old and used tropes from better scifi properties mixed in with some political allegory. Yeah, screw you Cuckmann.

I'm guessing it's going to SUBVERT OUR EXPECTATIONS.

Probably some more nihilistic nonsense about everything being shit.

I hope I'm wrong. I certainly won't be sad if this game turns out to be awesome.

First two sentences, yes.

Final sentence, categorically no.

So from the so-called spoilers they're making another Star Wars Outlaws game.

I don't know how after 2024 they can't see the writing on the wall for how similar this looks to an already unmitigated disaster from another major studio.

What accountant in their right fucking mind points to a failed asset and says "let's do that!"

The game isn't out yet, who cares how much development is put into it. You release that on it's face value and you're getting the Ubi-backlash all over again.

I'm likely as pleased as anyone here that you can see this for what it is, but remember that this game has been in development since 2020 according to Naughty Dog and Sony. That's a behemoth of ship to turn around based on only the last 6 months or so of evidence with all of these woke games failing. They really have their work cut out for them if that is what they end up deciding to do, and the game will likely face lengthy delays if so.

Do they pull a Ubi and delay it for a few months to "polish" it, or are they already in too deep?

I'm going to be on the list for the Q conference call for Sony next report. I will forward a question to the analyst on call to specifically ask about the investment into ND and the game. They got panned for the digital sales on LOU2 with marketing. No exact figures were offered if I recall but we will see.

There's gonna be tons of dialogue already written and recorded. Doubtful they'd be able to overhaul - what seems to be - their largest game yet before it releases

Reserving my judgement until we see more.

Sci Fi - Great
Man in a woman's skin - Not great
Woman actor looks hot with hair - Great
90s tech crossover - Great
Akira Inspiration - Great
Graphic Equalizer Toothed Sabre Sword - Not Great
Enemy design straight out of Destiny meets Medievil - Not Great
Soundtrack - Great.
Graphics - Great
Glowing Red Eyes - Not great. (I was drawing that as a 7-year-old kid.)

It could hit its mark with the environments and combat and storytelling. Will see. But the fact they want to implement a female lead that is attractive to no one except for a minority of people that live in San Francisco college dorms and ReeeeEra is a pretty big tell on what's install. I don't know any women named Jordan, Jordanna yes, but not Jordan. Hopefully I can stylize her to my liking or implement a character creator. Problem solved.

Are they living in the developer land bubble? Or did Concord pop it?

I will wait and see and not jump to any conclusions for now. But last time I did this it didnt work out to well for me. Prove me wrong Mr Druckman.

I wonder how many of them will still be there 6 months after the game launches?

I don't think this will be the end of ND. It'll have extremely high production qualities, gameplay will be engaging, it'll be polished to the max, physics, style, sound, art style, environments, everything will be top notch. Yeah it'll have an annoying ugly main character and some woke story beats. And that uglo will turn off some customers. But the Ponies are starving and they'll eat up every first party exclusive to some degree. Not the fake exclusive Final Fantasy games that don't sell anymore. I think there'll be enough excitement for the next ND game once gameplay drops and people seem the insane visuals and the spectacle.

If they don't go overboard with interracial steroid filled non-binary mentally ill gender fluid entities strap-on butt fucking in front of Pride flags, that is.

It will be interesting to see how many people behave like I do. I bought TLOU2 on launch despite hearing some of the negative things about it. I never finished that game and I quit because I got bored of it 1/3 through.

I don't tend to buy a game on launch from a studio whose last game I flat out didn't enjoy. I wonder what impact TLOU2 will have on this game?

Will be a factor for some core gamers for sure. For the more casual ones, it would be a factor if this was TLOU3. But this being a new IP and looking very different, I think that protects it to some degree from the TLOU2 baggage. At least that's my best guess, that casuals will see insane visuals, big marketing and glowing reviews, and be sold on it.

This was pretty much me. It wasn't enthralling as the first. Too many characters to care about. A lot of back and forth and once Joel was killed early on I lost motivation to play.

One the one hand you have graphics whores and people who make playing games their sole identity who will buy any slop as long as it looks good from a tech perspective and is a new item to consooom.

Then you have the die hard Sony ponies who will lap up and feverently defend anything Sony 1st party. Especially if it comes from their self proclaimed unicorn Naughty Dog.

Then you have some ignorant normies who have no idea what is going on and just buy things or play things to pass the time.

This means the game will probably sell a few million on those things alone. However I don't think that will be enough offset its budget and sales expectations. In the end I think it will sell way worse than TLOU2.

You now have the people who are sick of woke slop and actively against it, you have the people who are tired of being preached at and sick of uninspired AAA, you have the coomers who feel attacked by the direction of the western games industry who this type of thing is an insta ignore.

You also have the general zeitgeist of the general gaming masses and for this hype needs to be built over time, ND have lost a lot of cache with all of the above and even a lot of the normies after TLOU2. Combined with people seeing a lot of high profile woke flops, the general gaming public is becomming aware of the signature and signs of woke design sensibilities and rejecting it seemingly en masse. I don't see this game having that genuine grass roots support that things like Elden Ring have for example.

So all in all it will be a "bomb" versus their budget, investment and sales expectations and the game will likely be mocked relentlessly leading up to and after release. It will still sell a few million just based on graphics and the mainstream gaming media trying to hype it up as much as possible but it will be for all intents and purposes a failure.

I wonder how the audition for Mario went with Nintendo.

God no one cares about CGI videogame characters. Just give the girls nice butts and big knockers and we're happy.
And honestly I thought that it was Akwafina after going on an Ozempic binge.

I make a joke about her blowing him but Cuckman is clearly a lover of the pole so any blowing is being done by him on his wife's bull

Le Cuckmann once again showing how enamored he is with Pedowood.

For fucks sake, we used to not care about the actors playing the roles of favorite videogame characters unless they wowed us with their performance and we sought them out. Like how gamers became enamored with Steven Ogg after his unhinged performance as Trevor Phillips in GTA 5.

I don't need Cuckmann telling me that the actress he hired is going to WOW us with her performance. Let the game show that when it comes out. All he's done is set her up for ridicule if her performance is awful.

As I said vast majority of people don't play videogames for the performance of the CGI characters. It's why multi-player games generally stand the test of time and are so popular.
Cuckerman is just so high off his own farts he thinks anyone cares about videogame acting.

Obviously he cares, which is why he should direct either a tv episode or an indie film just to show us his inner auteur. But he knows no one will watch that, so he'll happily spend millions of Sony's money to show off what an amazing visionary director he is on one of their AAA titles.

Problem is, Naughty Dog doesn't have the same pull with gamers as it did before. The Last of Us 2 failed to reach the sales figures of the first game. So what happens when this title bombs?

She actually a pretty good actress. This was my fav scene in the whole Uncharted movie. She crushed it

Christ. This movie even has their own version of Nadine Ross?! I bet you this was one of Cuckmann's mandates for this film. Now I understand why he cast her in this new game.
