Interstellar
Directed by Christopher Nolan
First time seeing this. What a trip dude. All these years I had heard people priase this movie but I always had kind of written off for whatever reason. Not my favorite type of movie or genre but Interstellar delivered. I like Inception better, but honestly this might be Nolan's Magnum Opus

I finished up season 3 of The Bear. I've seen a few people be pretty down on it and while it didn't hit the highs of season 2 I still enjoyed it.

The Boys finale was fucking insane. I know the consensus here is that it's woke and whatever but I just came off the episode and season 5 can't come any sooner holy shit.

Not as totally convincing as the first part, but still very good movie.
+ love the cinematography
+ effective way of introducing characters
+ epic and beautiful on an OLED, looking incredible
+ the sound.... wow the amount of bass, the impact, seriously well done
+ good character development
+ atmosphere was top notch
+ strong action scenes for the most part
+ great acting by the mother, super creepy and convincing
- some parts of the fights looked bad (close combat 1on1)
- not a fan of Zendayas acting here
- didn't feel as perfect as the first one
Now waiting for the next part, sigh.

The amount of time this was on screen is much less than the amount of time I've spent looking at it. I will admit that.

You know, I miss Nikita. There were two versions of the show. La Femme Nikita and a reboot just called Nikita. I was a fan of both shows, but I want to focus specifically on the reboot. It had all the things that these people want. A strong, powerful, non-white female lead character fighting against an organization run by an evil, old white man. But you know what? Maggie Q was what a lot of people would consider hot (not really my type personally). The show was never above focusing on her sexuality. She used it to her advantage at times. Dudes were sexualized on the show too, THAT'S equality. Also, the show was full of badass man who were very much on her level, and quite a few of them where white dudes. Some of them were guys on her side, and some of them were enemies. The show never showed any ill will towards men, there were a few on the show that Nikita clearly loved and respected, and often relied on to help her. The show had hot babes and was not ashamed of it, Nikita's sidekick in particular - Lyndsy Fonseca.
I don't recall the show ever feeling like it had any sort of political agenda. It actually portrayed politics realistically, showing both the good and the bad aspects of it. One thing I loved about both Nikita shows was that they both revolved around a secret organization doing dirty deeds for the United States (including things like assassinations) and dealing with problematic international issues as well. They were above the law, corrupt, and eventually became more concerned about power than doing what's right. They often made sure that the public would be sold a "narrative" rather than the truth. Lots of stuff there with ties to the real world that I'm sure most of you can pick up on.
That show had a lot of "woke" checkmarks like strong women, diverse cast members, etc., yet avoided all of the stuff that we generally HATE about wokeness. It was a far better show than it had any right to be. There was a time when the CW actually had decent shows, at least by free network TV standards.

Yeah, it was. Luc Besson has been involved with some fun movies. I liked District 13 too, fun movieI remember it being very good.

I think they did an American remake of the Nikita movie but changed the name to something else didn't they?
