I'm back on that Daioujou daily practice, at least 10 or 15 minutes. It's not a hard habit to pick up, and the skill increases rapidly after the first week. Highly recommended for any player of any game trying to get better: dump 5 - 10 minutes into one specific game each morning, and once again before you go to bed. Did some runs to stage 4 and stage 5; got several scores over 90m. Another score over 100m, which is always a good day for me. Still died. Still no 1cc.

I dunno how many others have done the patient grind through a speedrun or a "highest difficulty" run or something similar but it's a different gaming experience entirely compared to how I played games growing up. It's fun. I can earnestly say it's very fun.

Dropped Nier (it sucks on 360, gonna go for remaster at some point). Now playing... Genji: Days of the Blade (PS3).

Finished Grandia recently. Awesome game. But haven't started seriously on another game yet. Mostly just doing small spurts of SanAndreas and Scarface.

Was thinking about Koudelka. Anyone have any other suggestions for a good ps1/2 game?

Xenoblade Chronicles has been taking up most of my time lately.

I've been trying to get into the latest Path of Exile league as well but I can't find a build I'm really interested in leveling.

Picked up Judgement and Nier for the PS5 yesterday so I'll start them at some point as well.

Just finished Call of Cthulhu. That was a good game!

Holy shit I was on my nerves from start to finish

Now I want to play The Sinking City but unfortunately it was pulled from Steam due to dispute between developers and publishers

I started Warhammer Chaosbane to scratch the Diablo itch, since I got it in a bundle and has been sitting in my pile.

It's very average, but it will scratch the itch for a few hours and then I'll uninstall it if I lose interest.

I've been replaying Dead Space all weekend. Loaded up an old save and I was a couple chapters away from the end, so I'm about to wrap up 1 and dive into 2.

Thank goodness for Xbox BC. It's the one worthwhile thing about the system for me. And I love the controller ☺️

Finally getting around to playing XCOM2: War of the Chosen I bought it pretty much near release, but never quite found the time to dig in. However I recently had YT throw up a let play my a Streamer I follow (Christopher Odd) of it having watched a few episodes to see the new systems in play thought I'd blow off the virtual Cobwebs and give it a go.

Got to say there's a few amount of new aspects to the game, which don't necessarily gel with my Min-Maxxer tendencies as it's real easy to short change yourself as things aren't entirely spelt out, but once you begin to get a handle on it it's pretty fun. The Covert Missions/Rewards, Bonding and Ability points are cool, though the last one in particular I didn't wrap my head around straight away and feel I would have picked my rookies more wisely if I'd been more aware. Eschewing Ironman at this juncture, but definitely thinking I'd like to give it a go down the road.

Started Jedi Fallen Order. Why did nobody tell me this was ... good? Feels like I'm playing a Star Wars-movie, in a good way. Perfect voice-acting (German), too. The dumb Dark Souls-respawn/healing could have been left out, but so far it doesn't ruin the game. Played until the first proper planet, Zeffo.

Dead Space is so fucking good. I need to get around to playing the sequel on backwards compat.

For me just Resident Evil 2 remake this week. Taking my sweet ass time with it. I hate that big guy. Cannot deal with his ass.

Its the best Star Wars game next to KOTOR for me. They nailed it. Except for the black chicks eyes which are distractingly awful.

EDF! EDF! (my kids have really fallen for Earth Defense Force 4.1 and so I'm playing that with them, here and there)

Also playing some Vs Critter Crunch on PS3 with my daughter, who loves the game and recently became obsessed w it.

This is embarrassing. Don't quote this, don't @ me, don't even read this post.

I've been playing Bugsnax. I wish I was kidding. The first couple times I booted it up didn't really go anywhere but months later, with open-world fatigue setting in, I tried this one out again randomly. I have played way more than I would have expected and am pretty far in...

Don't be ashamed. Once, I binged on a Kairosoft game and completed the game in one saturday afternoon. The true shame is that I spent money on it in the first place.

I've 100%ed a couple of the Lego Games dude. I'm never sure whether to be proud of that fact or ashamed (they're just fun). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Been on and off EFT for over a year now. The game is brutal but VERY rewarding when you do a successful raid

I never struggled in my life with a game as much as EFT. What makes me commit this time is that I actually want to git gud and learn everything about it

That game....goes places. I got the platinum too.

It sure is something watching a muppet couple with hot dog noses and cucumber ears berate each other and then go at each other's throats about why they need a divorce. Also they're gay.

lol yeah the general weirdness and the surprisingly fun puzzling nature of figuring out how to capture everything has kept me going way longer than I expected.

Capturing the creatures is definitely the highlight. It uses the controller haptics alright too.

We need to stop people from creating new acronyms, I think.

Alright quick update on what I'm juggling at the moment.

1) Ys Origin. About 4 hours in and really liking it for what it is. Some of the bosses are really challenging and if you aren't being careful you can easily get ganged up on and die.

2) Tomb Raider Legend. Playing this for the first time since it came out and I'm enjoying it as much as I remembered. I legit think this game is better than Uncharted 1 and really wish they'd bring back the light hearted tone to the series and make Lara not annoying #makelarahotagain

3) Wolfenstein 3D. Been on a retro FPS kick, another game I haven't played in over a decade or so. I still really like Wolfenstein and I don't mind the lack of map, I think growing up playing this + dungeon crawlers + Metroid gave me a good sense of direction in the real world

4) Breath of the Wild. Doing what I said I was going to do 4 years ago and finally going back to clean up the remaining shrines and maybe some side quests for fun. Got about 80 of the shrines done when I out the game down so now I'm tracking down the rest. I absolutely love how well some of these shrines are hidden, finding where they are is often more challening/enjoyable than the actual shrine itself.
