So I'm gathering this is gonna be a disappointment?
As I've said previously, a near perfect game and indisputable successor and standard setter beyond even Ocarina of Time would be combining BotW's vibrant world, setting and towns with Elden Rings sheer variety of gear, weapon and weapon upgrades, skills, magic, enemy variety, legacy dungeons, tombs and catacombs.
I think I'm going to hold off on buying the game until I know if it is actually worth the 6 year wait. They'd better have some sort of new gameplay feature that isn't just a lego build a big tool. I just don't see why they couldn't just look at Link to the Past and make a light world and dark world. Or like Ocarina of Time and do the past and future world. Or even follow Majora's Mask and use the same game world but with completely different gameplay mechanics. Having the same world with a couple of extra shrines and some floating islands isn't really that much more than BOTW.
Boring is not the word I would use for the Lands Between. A world in the process of horrifically dying? Yeah. BotWs world actually has settlements, people, life and a quest tracker, something Elden Ring lacks.I love how you basically make up 10 different words for 'combat' - because that's all that Elden Ring has. Shit game with boring world, zero environmental interaction and no engaging story.

Even a mundane bandits dagger in Elden Ring has more durability then the Blade of Evils bane in BotW. Even a bandits blade does not have to recharge after a certain amount of use.
Elden Ring actually took inspiration from and improved on certain aspects from BotW especially with the Legacy Dungeons and weapons that don't break. TotK sounds like it improves on the open world aspects as a different focus.
So what other games that you think are better will you be playing until then?
Utterly ridiculous
Elden Ring had really amazing shit to find too, like you could happen upon a cave that gave you an amazing armor set, or a weapon, Zelda just has finding some breakable trash.
Elden Ring had characters that had quests that pretty fun payoffs.
There was a reason to keep looking in Elden Ring, maybe someone would have a spell that was fucking great, and only obtainable in one area.
The payoffs in Elden Ring for exploration were huge. The payoffs in Zelda now are just more junk.
EDIT: Some guy just did a sidequest and got $50 who fucking cares about $50 in Zelda games, you could sell junk and get that shit easily.
Wow.....this game kind of fucking sucks........ aside from looking/feeling/acting like nothing more than a full price DLC I feel like I'm spending more time fucking with broken legos and an unfriendly UI to progress than anything else.
I considered BotW one of the best games ever made, game just flat out IS NOT FUN in the beginning.
Ys IX is releasing in less than 2 weeks for PS5.So what other games that you think are better will you be playing until then?

And Diablo 4 two weeks after that! Damn this year is awesome for game releases!

People say that it breaks the balance of the game to have reward legendary weapons that don't break but. . .those weapons do not make any difference in the balance. They are just a choice, like any other exploit in the very broken game. No one would have had to use them unless they wanted to have fun, like any other broken mechanic.
There was no reason not to have cool special weapons as rewards.
$$$$$$$BOTW is at the top of my worst games of all time. I can't comprehend why people would do a direct sequel with similar mechanics.

If Nintendo had a big budget on this game they must have spent it on hookers and blow.
And then they played banjo nuts and bolts with said hookers
No but seriously I'd love to see what they spent on this game but the switch and switch games selling so well no matter what made them go this route.
Look at pikmin 4 as well, looks barely different than pikmin 3 besides a new color filter lol
Ok backtracking..... the start of the game is a slow, boring, awful tutorial. It then becomes BotW for all intents and purposes, performance is fine, if you didn't like BotW it's not for you, if you did.... buckle up for a long highly similar ride.
If BotW was a masterpiece consider this a copy of a masterpiece, it's legit and you'll love it. 100+ hour experience for sure.
I don't know why you posted that rant, because it's just parroting what i said in a condescending way.Of course it's for money.
If you've got a product that sells phenomenally well you don't say "OK let's never do that again". Every single videogame company out there thinks "how can we get even more of that money and how can we do it as efficiently as possible".
The concept of returning customers is really really simple. "Remember that thing you bought and liked before? Here is more of that!"
They're making a sequel to a massively popular game to make more money!!?? You don't fucking say.
The bar I went to at the weekend is going to be selling the same beers next weekend too! Those bastards are only in it for the money!
Now I am back on the hype train.Ok backtracking..... the start of the game is a slow, boring, awful tutorial. It then becomes BotW for all intents and purposes, performance is fine, if you didn't like BotW it's not for you, if you did.... buckle up for a long highly similar ride.

I really hope there's a good game after this several hour tutorial that's more like playing Dragon Quest 2 Builders with a Zelda skin.
Is performance actually fine though?
Switch could barely run BOTW at launch. I am skeptical that they can add a load of stuff to the game and increase the size and density of the world and actually have it running well.
So what other games that you think are better will you be playing until then?

I am currently playing Dragon Quest 11 and I think I'm about 2/3rds through the game at the moment. I will probably get close to beating it by the time of TOTKs release.
God I'm still pissed over the story especially, and I don't even care about that stuff in gaming.
Knew the game itself would be the same shit, but with that borderline offensive story this time? This is even worse than BOTW...
