Those tiny dumbbells aren't going to do you much good. At least get some 20s. They look like the lady dumbbells Target sells.

I just looked at the prices for dumbbells on Amazon. They're crazy. I bought 30 pound dumbbells last October for $30 each, now it's $62 for a single one.

Those aren't mine. I have my own set at home.

Trying to cut out as much sugars and processed foods out of my diet as possible. I'm:

-Quitting soda in favor of spring water
-Quitting conventional milk in favor of Grassfed
-Buying 100% peanut butter, Avocado oil mayo and unsweetened ketchup
-Buying Sprouted Ezekiel bread
-Buying Pasture Raised Eggs over conventional

I'm slowly replacing everything else with healthier options from Walmart or Sprouts farmer market. Expensive but i look at it as an investment

So in an effort to get healthier I've been doing similar things with dieting. Initially started around 230....I'm down to 195 with basically just walking 90 minutes a day but have completely changed my diet.

Few things I'm doing....switched out coffee creamer for ensure Protein drink to mix in coffee as a base, doesn't taste great but the extra protein boost is noticeable for somebody who doesn't eat enough

Along with that as my body has actually started to become more hungry in times when it should so I'm feeding myself regularly I like almonds, walnuts, yogurt, tuna fish... have mostly been living on this stuff for the last several weeks and my entire world is so different

I never correlated what a fucking asshole I was in direct relation to my nutrition but it's flat out amazing both how I feel/act eating healthy protein less-sugar shit. Now when I introduce some unhealthy shit into my system my body lets me know how wrong it feels.

At this point I'm eating mostly healthy protein-based meals all day and the weight is falling off just staying consistent.

That's awesome man. Glad to hear someone making such large strides to be healthy. Keep at it.

When I dropped coffee creamer a few years back I replaced it with vanilla almond milk and a 0 calorie sweetener. I drink a lot of coffee and realized the creamer we adding 400-500 calories a day which was mostly sugar. Almond milk is low in calories and still give a little bit of the vanilla flavor the creamer used to give.

Yep dumbells used to be $1/lb pre covid. I am grabbing a set of 60s this week and the price is $200 for a pair.

Weights are good. Bodyweight exercises are still essential, especially for fatties who still need to build up joint/connective strength.

Finally back from fatty camp. Lost 27kg, but much more still needs to go. Very motivated, though. Told my parents once I can walk better, I'd get a dog. Dad told me then I'd have to move out. Fair enough.

Anyway, feels a bit weird to be home after 9 weeks in hospital. Tomorrow an appointment with the dentist, once that's done, I can truly start.

God I can't deal with this pain anymore im going to a dentist asap. I can barely function at work

Apparently I can't do squats without my right knee hurting. I guess since I'll be 41 in 3 weeks it will do that.

Bumping for the upcoming Summer.

Quit being a pussy. I'm older than you and I can squat with my ass almost kissing the floor.

You don't need to use a lot of weights. In fact, 20kg is perfectly fine, just use a single kettlebell but do it slowly, with proper form and do 4 sets of 20 reps. Your thighs and ass will thank me. (No homo)

You also need to do A LOT of stretching.

@VlaudTheImpaler haven't been active in a while in this thread. How is your arm wrestling journey? Still at it?

I haven't worked out properly since I'm on travels (since last October) and lost a lot of muscle. When I'm back home in June I have to get started again. I'm motivated.

Doing great, thanks for asking! I'm trying really hard to hit some tourneys this year in order to get ranked. I was pulling with the guy that's number 4 a few weeks ago and he said I was very close to just smashing him every time. It also feels nice to get reactions like, "Yo, what the heck happened? Are you taking steroids?"

Well I'm on day 2 of intermittent fasting. Yesterday wasn't as bad because I did an hour hill run and the suffering from that overshadowed the hunger. I finally ate at 12:15pm and I was starving up until then. I hope it gets easier. I read through the 2018 thread Cunth posted on neogaf and it seems to be effective.

Need to lose about 10 pounds still. I'm down to 180 from my peak of 195/200 last summer. The weight loss has been extremely slow, hence the intermittent fasting. I've only lost about 15 pounds since I started trying last October (that's 15 pounds in over 6 months).

Accept that intermittent fasting will always be kind of miserable. If you're waiting for that feeling of hunger to get better, then you're setting yourself up for disappointment. You need to change how you think about hunger. If you're hungry, that's your body saying "eat soon please, no rush", not "eat an entire meal right now." It's okay and normal to be hungry for 4-8 hours, even more than that. The three full course meal pushed by commercials and media is overkill and arguably 3x more than we've ever needed. Adjusting your mind away from that won't happen overnight.

Your hunger adjusts based upon a chemical in your brain which is released in coordination with your eating patterns. Its called ghrelin. Tells your body its time to eat. Ive been doing OMAD for three weeks now and i dont get hungry until Im home from work around 7. I just drink water and tea all day

That's a better explanation. I've only eaten dinner for 90% of the year for at least 3 years now. I only eat breakfast or lunch on special occasions. There are plenty of days where I do get hungry at around 2PM and I just wait until dinner. I don't know what to say to people who look at me like I commit self harm by not eating a 400 calories snack the moment my stomach growls.

The only intermittent fasting that matters is OMAD. Train yourself to have one meal a day and your body adjusts its own measure of hunger.

Somewhat related, but one of my biggest regrets was ever getting off keto

My ass got down to 145 lbs *im 5'9"* and i remember people were legit worried but i was eating good and feeling amazing. Every time i went to the doctor they were amazed at my immaculate blood pressure and weight

I stopped in fear of becoming too gaunt and put weight back on gradually (hence the omad now). Every time ive tried to keto since has been a disaster and i get clogged up 😆

But man, that was the perfect diet. I felt amazing

Dunno how I'm gonna do that when skipping breakfast is so hard. I guess I'll give it time and see how I adjust

I just talked to my dad on the phone and he reminded me he used to do bread and water fasts for weeks and only eat one small sandwich a day. I forgot all about that. I don't give the old bastard enough credit

Breh just hold off eating as long as you can then pound down like a 1200 calorie meal, dont eat again until the next day and do the same thing

Easy as sin

Only drink water, tea, or coffee
