Thread: First Look At Fallout Series | starring Ella Purnell, Kyle MacLachlan and Walton Goggins.
Idk how in the hell Maximus got anywhere near the Brotherhood of Steel outside of sheer luck. Love the rest of the characters though. And they did a good job with the soundtrack

They released some fallout shelter stats for the characters and albeit I disagree with the Intelligence-4 for The Ghoul, it kind of makes sense for Maximus, as clearly he's not the sharpest tool in the box. Which, is very much a fallout thing in and of itself.

He's not entirely incompetent, but he often doesn't think through his actions.

Looks like we found someone shorter than Joe Rogan:

Would be awesome if they turned that set into the new dev studio for Fallout.

I'm still working through episode 1. It's not bad but it's not really grabbing me, either. It seems visually pretty cool, but something just feels off with it. I'm not feeling myself getting invested.

Episode 2 kicks things into a gear a bit more, the 1st one is just laying the groundwork.

I actually don't dislike Maximus, his dumb face just makes me chuckle. It's like he has aspergers or he's autistic or something. He's always a bit slow, I mean he survived absolute hell as a kid so he has to be very damaged goods.

That being said, for me where the show shines is in the vault storyline. Give me Norm & Chet all day long. Lucy, Maximus and The Ghoul are alright but when the show reverts to Vault 33 that's when it has my full attention. I'm really enjoying the mystery of what happened in Vault 32 and what's in Vault 31. Hopefully the reveal doesn't disappoint. I'm at episode 6 for reference.

I think what amazes me most about this show is that they chose to follow the aesthetic and themes of Fallout 1 and 2 much more closely than the Bethesda games. There was only an audience of a few hundred thousand people for the first game and maybe a bit more for the second, compared to millions for the last two games and New Vegas. It was absolutely the right choice to make because the early games were weirder, funnier, and more original, but I think respect is due for recognizing that and not pandering to what might have seemed to be a safer business decision.

Finished the whole season. I thought it was very good, I am surprised actually how well they balanced the game stuff and the transition to TV.

And the last scene made me smile! Definitely looking forward to season 2.

Watched couple episodes it was cool so far but what the fuck was the point of the tranny they? Its fuckin retarded and embarrassing and it always will be. Ill keep going but pretending it's whatever is crazy. Imagine running things for THE BROTHERHOOD OF STEEL but still also making sure to use proper pronouns. That twink they is not holding they own at power armor boot camp. 🙄🙄🙄

If you are a fan of Fallout, more than likely you have seen Mike and Zach's playthroughs of Fallout games, specifically using mods to make the games (F3, NV, and F4) coop. They give their two cents on the series and while I don't agree with all of their points, they do make some great observations due to how deep into the lore they are invested in with the Fallout IP.

Spoilers in the following video, be aware if you have not watched the series.

Finished up the season. I thought it was great! I'm so happy to have a show that wasn't crammed with the usual shit. I think the first episode had the most woke in it, and even then, it was only a 1 out of 4 on the woke scale.

As a fan of the games (mostly 3, 4, and 76), I was amazed at the level of detail. Shit, when one of the characters had to figure out a password on the computer and it was directly from the game..that made the nerd in me giggle. Hearing the music from the title screen of Fallout 4 kick in during one of the scenes....ahhhh, beautiful.

Whenever Walter Goggin's ghoul character is on the screen, you stop what you're doing. You WANT to go on an adventure with him.

Looking forward to season 2!!

The actor for ghoul is just such a fuckin amazing actor. I love that guy. He's in Vice Principals and he was fuckin amazing in that and I really recommend that.

When the Ghoul said the golden rule of the wasteland I felt that in my soul. My wife didn't fully understand my grin and then I explained it's actually a super cleverly written line because it's what causes me to take so long finishing the games... If I ever do haha.

Microsoft have it all set up tbh. They can assign people and have it going instantly.

If it happens they'd want it multi-platform and controller-based for starters so they could put it on Xbox/Game Pass. Not that that couldn't be done, but they'd require a lot more than a simple remaster, esp in light of BG3 setting expectations for Isometric games at this point in a lot of peoples eyes. Still, it would be kind of cool to see. I'd be down for a Larian style Fallout 1 & 2 remaster. keep the principal storyline and plot points/quests, but build it out and some richness to it.

They can probably put original controls on a console if they wanted to. It's a grid based game with turn based combat. It can be easily adapted. But a full Larian style remake is fine by me too.

Sawyer has some comments:

He liked the aesthetic they brought to the screen. He isn't married to the IP so he doesn't really care one way or another even if he disagrees with some of the direction the writers went in on this series.

On point. Just based on how he talks and acts I thought it was pretty clear that Maximus is still quite child-like in terms of mindset and easily pleased.

After watching it again, I have to say out of all of the things that I dont like about the show the thing that bothered me the most is probably how vulgar it is.

It's not the gore, I just feel like all "adult" tv shows on premium services it just goes overboard with the profanity and sexual stuff. Theres things in here that just had me getting irritated or rolling my eyes. Maybe I'm just getting too old, but it felt borderline juvenile at points, which isn't something I've ever really felt about Fallout.
