Thread: First Look At Fallout Series | starring Ella Purnell, Kyle MacLachlan and Walton Goggins.
This show is so bad. Only first and last episodes are okay, rest is padded mess of Disney dialogue and cringe. Cast of characters with confusing agendas that looks like came from The Force Awakens. Way too much of pre-war stuff and muh Mccartyism politics. Wasteland itself is just a cheap decoration. No weight to location and lore is reduced to memberberries from the game. They aren't discovering anything, just following a bad mcguffin. Bombs fell 200 years ago yet everyone is still alive and it looks more like it happened 15 years ago. Could have just set it before Fallout 1.

There's some good production design here. Vaults, guns and costumes look authentic. I don't know how their streaming economy works but they could have just made a better tv movie. Entire Vault 4 episode should have been cut. It's just so stupid.

Sounds like a hater.

Sounds like another hater. Amazon and Bethesda already told us the show is canon so you'll need to get with the times or get left behind.

I've watched 3 episodes now and I think I kinda like it. There are things I don't like, but overall it at least feels like someone involved in making it actually gave a shit about making it. That already puts it way ahead of most modern shows.

Finished the series this weekend, I've never played a fallout game in my life but as a series on its own, it was pretty damn good. Only downside is the terrible visual effects, the knights were cheezy as hell.

I can't tell if the main character is hot or kind of an uggo. She's like the two face chick from Seinfeld. In some lighting conditions she looks really cute and in others she looks like a bug-eyed freak.

But okey dokey, I'd hit it

Shes hott. Her big eyes are so cute but ive always been into big eyes and big foreheads tbh.

Yeah they weren't great, however, I think they kind of lean in to the cheesy aesthetic. Mayhap with the second season, Amazon will up the budget.

Yeah she's hot, just a pity in reality, she's gone down the random-assed tattoo route. Not that I'm against tattoos, per se, but hers aren't great tbh.

Finished the series the other day and I enjoyed it. Other than Maximus all the other characters were great especially the Ghoul. :) Just the right amount of humor and action to make it entertaining.

Looks like season 2 is going to be set in New Vegas according to the ending :x

I just finished episode 6. I genuinly think it is the best video game adaptation since the 1992 Mortal Kombat movie.

The analogy with the wastelanders being refugees and the vault leaders opinons was a bit heavy handed and cliched though, rather than to genuinly come down on one side of a complex issue.

Also I feel cheated about Goosey not getting her tits out, with the others!

The vault dwellers are lab rats in the games. Most of the vaults are horror stories. I think showing them as some kind of pleasure cruise for rich people missed the point a little bit.

That's not what happened at all though? Did you finish the season? Cause it's quite clearly shown how the vaults have their own experimentation going on. Vault 31, 32 and 33 having a sort of symbiotic relationship with interbreeding. Eugenics. At least that's how they portrayed it, you end up finding out the real reason behind the three vaults, Bud's Buds and all that, the cryo pods in Vault 31. Essentially created to form a monopoly over all the other factions.

Vault 4 almost needs no explanation, they were experimenting on humans and creating hybrids of humans with radioactive resistant species.

That's all the vaults that have been shown so far but not one of them were shown to have been some pleasure cruise for the rich.

After watching it again, I have to say out of all of the things that I dont like about the show the thing that bothered me the most is probably how vulgar it is.

I felt the same way in some scenes. When they were talking about sex in Vault 4, it felt off. And even when the cousin was going to have sex with the pregnant woman and claimed how wet she was (her water broke tee hee), that's pretty graphic and it really didn't fit with the goody two shoes 1950s Betty Crocker vibe that they established. It's almost like you can tell what group of writers wrote what in this show.

The Boys REALLY leaned into the vulgarity and hyper sexual BS, and I really didn't enjoy it. It felt like what a closeted coomer THINKS sexuality is. Instead of having a hot lady slowly unzipping the front of a jumpsuit to reveal their cleavage, they have someone with an enormous dick spray cum on everything and everyone.

I thought the wet line was really good. Sexuality wise I thought Game of Thrones early season long sex-monologues were worse.

I feel like the vault was also kinda purposely grooming people to think about procreation. Look how quick Lucy is to fuck anyone. They have that 50s conservative style going on, but they also want repopulation and train them from an early age to see sex as more of a purpose. So I don't think it's really off tone or anything.

Reminder ALL vaults are an experiment (unless the water chip breaks, typical Fallout trope)

  • Vault 3 (Fallout New Vegas): No particular experiment but suffered a water leak, requiring them to open the vault and were traders before being massacred by the Fiends.
  • Vault 8 (Fallout 2): Vaults would open after 10 years and use its G.E.C.K. to repopulate. No particular experiment but maybe that is the experiment?
  • Vault 11 (Fallout New Vegas): Every year, one person was to be sacrificed or the whole vault would be killed, which turned out to be a lie.
  • Vault 12 (Fallout 1): Vault door was deliberately designed not to properly close to expose inhabitants to radiation.
  • Vault 13 (Fallout 1): Remain close for 200 years and be a reserved test population if the Enclave required subjects at anytime.
  • Vault 15 (Fallout 1, 2): Remain close for 50 years and house people with radical, diverse ideologies to see how they interact.
  • Vault 19 (Fallout New Vegas): Inhabitants were separated into two groups. One wore red while the other wore blue.
  • Vault 21 (Fallout New Vegas): A society that was based on gambling.
  • Vault 22 (Fallout New Vegas): Tasked with the development of plant life able to grow without the need of sunlight.
  • Vault 27: Overcrowd the vault with 2000 dwellers.
  • Vault 29 (Fallout): No one above 15 years old were allowed to enter the vault.
  • Vault 34 (Fallout New Vegas): Had an improper locking mechanism for the doors and had an armory filled with lots of guns and ammunition.
  • Vault 36: Dwellers were to only be served a thin watery gruel to eat.
  • Vault 42: No light bulbs of more than 40 watts.
  • Vault 43: Populated with 20 men, 10 woman, and 1 panther.
  • Vault 51 (Fallout 76): Assigned a ZAX unit whose task was to learn how to select the perfect overseer.
  • Vault 53: Everything in the vault was designed to breakdown every few months and cause stress.
  • Vault 55: No entertainment tapes.
  • Vault 56: All entertainment tapes were removed except for those of a terrible comedian.
  • Vault 68: Populated by 999 men and only 1 woman.
  • Vault 69: Populated by 999 woman and only 1 man.
  • Vault 75 (Fallout 4): Developing suitable human subjects that would be capable of surviving the Wasteland through mental and physical torture on inhabitants under 18 years old to make a desirable gene pool of strong and intelligent humans. Those that failed to meet standards were executed after turning 18, though some that succeeded were killed off regardless to maintain the refined genetic linage desired.
  • Vault 76 (Fallout 76): House 500 of the most successful, competitive, capable, and brilliant citizens of America for 25 years before being released to repopulate the Wasteland.
  • Vault 77 (Penny Arcade): House only 1 man who was provided a crate of puppets to serve as company.
  • Vault 81 (Fallout 4): Research diseases and expose those diseases to radiation to see if any mutations occurred, and exposing those new strains to dwellers. Vault is to remain inhabited unless ordered by Vault-Tec to be evacuated.
  • Vault 87 (Fallout 3): Tasked to experiment with FEV on its inhabitants.
  • Vault 88 (Fallout 4): Test prototype technologies which would be sent to other vaults.
  • Vault 92 (Fallout 3): Housed solely musicians who were to be exposed to an experimental white noise hypnotic signal that would make them violent.
  • Vault 94 (Fallout 76): Inhabitants were to follow the principles of faith, nonviolence, communal life, and being one with nature to discover that there is indeed good deep down all of mankind. Vault-Tec desired to mostly see how would people adapt to such different ideologies inside a vault and in a post-apocalypse.
  • Vault 95 (Fallout 4): The vault was housed completely by drug addicts except for one undercover employee from Vault-Tec who secretly monitored the experiment. The inhabitants were to undergo a rehab program and in five years of the vault door closing a secret stash of drugs is to be revealed to the inhabitants after rehabilitation.
  • Vault 96 (Fallout 76): An ark housing many frozen embryos of multiple species to restore world ecosystems, but only organisms deemed essential, dubbed "core fauna".
  • Vault 101 (Fallout 3): Remain close and have a dictatorial overseer.
  • Vault 106 (Fallout 3): After ten days of the vault being sealed, the facility was to be pumped with a colorless gas which caused hallucinations.
  • Vault 108 (Fallout 3): Assigned two experiments. One was for the overseer to die of cancer in 40 months, the power supply malfunction after 240 months, lack backup systems, have an over stocked armory, and have no entertainment. The second experiment was to research into human cloning.
  • Vault 111 (Fallout 4): Research long-term effects of humans when cryogenically frozen.
  • Vault 112 (Fallout 3): Residents were to live inside a simulation while under suspended animation.
  • Vault 114 (Fallout 4): Was going to house Boston politicians and other wealthy elites were to live in a lifestyle experienced by those in extreme poverty.
  • Vault 118 (Fallout 4): Was going to have a social hierarchy of the rich and the poor under discriminatory guidelines.

I am curious how Todd Howards lore fuckery is going to implement the Enclave, now that he has canon dictating it was Vault-Tec who started the war and not China.

That's exactly the vibe I got yeah. The way they purposely talked about not procreating with your family (Chet), the intermarriage between vaults etc.

She's schrodinger's hot.

She exists in a parallel state of attractive and unattractive depending on when observed.

I though the last episode really fumbled the bag with a twist that anyone could see coming miles off. Really soured me on the series though I had enjoyed it until then.

When she looks her worst, I'd rather fuck schrodinger himself.

We'd both be blindfolded so we'd never observe the gayness and therefore we could each imagine the possibility that we're fucking a dude as only one of the possible states. So nothing gay there.

Amazon's Fallout TV series adaptation has become the second most-watched TV show on Prime Video within its first two weeks, breaking global records for the streaming service. As announced by Amazon, Fallout has now been watched by over 65 million viewers globally, with the UK, France, and Brazil reportedly driving those numbers.

Per Amazon, around 60% of Fallout's main audience is international – as in, not based in the United States – with the show reaching the number one spot on Prime Video in 170 of the 240 countries where it launched. It's now "the most watched title ever on Prime Video among adults 18-34 through its first 16 days" and overall, places just behind The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, a major spin-off adaptation of the popular LOTR franchise.

That's an impressive achievement for Fallout, given the muted expectations for the series prior to launch. While there was hope it would be a solid adaptation of the popular video game franchise, it's safe to say not many expected the TV show's impressive quality, and subsequent explosion in popularity.

Hopefully more budget for Season 2. I'm looking forward to more of Kyle Maclachlan, hopefully, he gets to grow his hair out a bit and go full Evil Cooper ala Twin Peaks Season 3.

Ok so she's definitely cute as hell, but I did unfortunately discover that she has some really small, flat saggers for tits.

Not that I agree with all his takes on this show, as I DID enjoy it, but Mauler makes some damn good points that I gleefully ignored because I was just happy that a show wasn't complete dog shit. This is a long video, but well done.

I saw him ranting on After Hours with Drinker a while back about Fallout, while pretty much everyone else on there was 'That was fun for the most part' and that was enough. Drinker is a bit more measured in his criticism with his takes versus most and albeit he will rally against 'The Message' isn't so unforgiving, whereas Mauler is perpetually unhappy with everything and lets you know ad infinitum, ad nauseum 95% of the time. Certainly better than the likes of HeelVsBabyface who is the nadir of youtube criticism, but Mauler isn't much better than flopsweat Disparu when it comes to his takes IMHO. 2 hours to tell us why a series isn't great is about 100 minutes too long, still its all about the grift.

Been watching for an hour and can't refute any of it. Imo the writers think they are writing for idiots and doing a checklist.

I've been citing the potholes and bad writing since the first week and especially before I saw others like Mauler said the same. But I also did say I enjoy some of it to finish and check out S2.

The criticisms need to be said and heard. So that the show runners can improve in S2. If not I'll likely won't continue watching.
