What about PC? Does it benefit from this in any way?
Whelp, say goodbye to life for 150 hours. Worth it.And with the release of this update I will finally play this game.
Loved the game, but I don't replay games for the most part.
What a waste, lot of money to spend just to play a game once and never again.
Way too many games releasing that I want to play. Can't even keep up. Need to do the one and done approach. My time is limited and I rather experience new games than replaying ones that I already finished.
Same for movies.
There's not even enough new good games being released regularly for that.
I guess that really depends on the available gaming time, which is pretty limited in my case. I have a big backlog of great games that I don't have time to play because new ones keep coming out.
You could stop buying new shit and work on your backlog.
CD Projekt has launched a livestream for The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update, in which they showcase the game's Ray Tracing effects. This video can give you an idea of what you can expect from this upcoming next-gen update that will be available to all owners of the base game.
The Witcher 3 Next-Gen will feature dozens of visual, performance, and technical enhancements over the original. Alongside RT, the game will include a variety of mods from the get-go. From what we know so far, CDPR will include the HD Rework Project.
CD Projekt RED has detailed the Ray Tracing effects for PC. The game will have RTGI and RTAO. Furthermore, CDPR has added some new Ultra+ settings that will push/stress a lot of GPUs, and has improved the game's SSR. Not only that but there will be support for both NVIDIA DLSS 2 and AMD FSR 2.0.

Call me a filthy graphics peasant if you will but... I just don't see any massive upgrade in the visuals. Sure the lighting is better, but other than that, it doesn't look much different from my base PS4 version of the game. The Witcher 3 was and still is a damn good looking game, but this next gen update doesn't really impress me. If the visuals had matched that of Red Dead Redemption 2 then maybe there'd be something to hype about.

What a bizarre thing to say. There are tons of games releasing constsntly across all four+ devices to game on. The amount of choice these days is overehelming. I'm like @regawdless though, I very very rarely replay a game. I barely have enough time to play a single game and by the time I'm done five others have released that I want. And when it comes to giant epic games like RDRII I played that fuckin thing exclusively for six months ffs
The original certainly didn't look this muddy on my PC, but it does look like the lighting changes are rather significant.

Like when The Las of Us remake had footage posted and I was like "Oh yeah I guess that looks a bit better." But then the comparisons come up and I'm like wow nevermind, my memory of the original and remaster was quite generous lmaoIt does look a lot better, especially the lighting. People tend to not remember accurately how bad older games actually look.
I'm the exact same way. I find it odd people spend so much time replaying their favorite games but to each their own.Way too many games releasing that I want to play. Can't even keep up.
