Thread: The Witcher 3 PS5/Xbox Series/Pc update is coming Dec 14th (free to owners)
I was able to crank everything up to Ultra+ on my PC and the framerate is really smooth. The game looks stunning even without ray tracing on with everything else maxed out.

He's got a 4090 and DLSS 3.0 with its bullshit frame generation tech.

Its the real deal lol, I love it. But yeah it "feels" less than 60 at 4k native everything maxed. At 4k dlss quality it's definitely over 60.

I say "feel" because afterburner layer is not showing for this game since the patch.

The ray tracing mode almost melted my Xbox Series X. I was near the beginning in White Orchard. I had been playing for maybe 20 minutes when the game started to lag and then my Xbox shut down. When I turned it on, I got an overheating notice saying the Xbox turned off on its own for safety reasons.

My Xbox is not in the most ideally ventilated place but it's not in the worse place either. This is the first time this happens to me. I'm gonna have to play in performance mode from now on or steer clear of the game.

Maybe too much-having Geralt casting Igni?

Shit, maybe put it somewhere more ventilated instead? My brother in law has his PS5 in an enclosed TV cabinet and played God of War for like 8 hours straight and said when he went over to plug his controller in to charge it, the area around that cabinet was so hot it felt like a space heater on a high setting. These puppies need to breathe!

I would have to buy a different cabinet, which I've been meaning to do. I mean, I don't have it enclosed like your brother's PS5 or anything like that. It's still plenty open but the space is a bit tight. I'm definitely going to get a different cabinet, better safe than sorry.

Just wanted to give you guys an fyi more than anything. Definitely do not play this in RT mode if your console is not really in the open. Maybe a patch can fix it, I played Cyberpunk 2077 in RT mode and that didn't happen.

This is precisely the reason why my consoles sit out in the open. If I could, I would even have a/c blowing directly into the intakes on these boxes.

Afterburner is working since the patch.

So I get 60-75 fps with everything maxed, including RT Ultra at 4K native.

With DLSS 2 set to quality 100-105 fps. Same settings.

Did I imagine DLSS 3 support? Lol.
