@Mickmrly Majora's Mask is full of surprises
Wait until you travel East (Termina) and reach the Canyon
I have reached the canyon area but only after fighting the water temple boss many times. That was probably one of the most annoying boss fights I've ever had. Having to quickly dodge the boss over and over or suffer big damage was pretty annoying. I need to find a lot of heart pieces as well, I think I'll be wandering around doing random things to try and strengthen up.

Tried out F-Zero X yesterday with a quick death race, 23 kills not bad. Definitely some random frame rate drops that weren't there in the original, but I'm sure it'll be fixed eventually like the problems with Zelda.

Which would you say was a more complex dungeon, Snowhead Temple or Great Bay Temple?

Here now. 🙂 Got done with Arceus, went back and finished the main story in Shining Pearl, went back to Shield for a time to complete the Crown Tundra dex, picked up a shiny I'd been hunting back at the end of 20/beginning of 21 before I set Shield down for a time, then hit a few hours of Elden Ring, then Triangle Strategy, before my boy told me Fortnite season wad ending (he originally thought Sunday, but that wasn't accurate), so been back to that the last couple of days. This year is freaking packed, and I can't wait for it all to roll out! We eatin' well, boys!

Welcome to the party you cunt.

Very, very excited for Xenoblade 3. I think it will be a possible dark horse contender for GOTY runner up to Elden Ring. Extremely doubtful BotW 2 releases this year, especially with the rash of recent game industry delays though it would be a very nice surprise.

Just gotta beat Xenoblade 2 and X. The mechanics for both are a little overwhelming to be honest.

2s field system and combat system (blade equipping) is weird, afraid to progress and miss out on sidequests.

Don't know how to approach upgrading gear in X.

Both are amazing looking games though. Flight in X turns it into a completely different game, one even the insanely vast and beautiful/horrific nightmare world of Elden Ring has not matched in that aspect by allowing you to pilot a Mecha.

Xenoblade DE fixed a lot of this "what the heck do I do next?" by giving locations for sidequests.

Also hearing some good stuff about Triangle Strategy.

Just finished Ys Origin after picking it up really cheap and very underrated game , not really into RPG's but the combat is pretty simple but slick and nothing fancy, you don't have much of a inventory to take care of but really enjoyable game. Sort of reminded me of the dungeon crawling early Zelda games

Square Enix sale on the Nintendo Switch eShop going on right now

You can get the first three Dragon Quest games for $15.56

Sale lasts another 12 days too

Anything else worth mentioning? octopath traveller ?
I wish. The Final Fantasy games are all on sale. But didn't see Octopath Traveler listed

Never knew until yesterday but the physical copies of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles only support Japanese, and no other languages. So digital it will have to be for most who want to play FF:CC

I don't think I've ever played a Kirby game, if I ever run out of games I'll probably give the series a try.

They're known moreso for their innovative gameplay mechanics than their difficulty. If you want to breeze your way through a chilled out 2d platformer, then you really can't outshine the Kirby franchise. The cutesy two player ones will get you laid also if you play with a special someone

New Sega Genesis games up for NSO+

Alien Soldier is especially good and incredible hard from what I remember

I can't really get into genesis games, I much prefer the dreamcast library to be honest. I don't really know what came out for Saturn though, I think that was the one that didn't have a new sonic game.

Yeah same. Dreamcast was the only Sega system I ever bought, but I do still have it that thing was awesome. Every once in a while I'll see a Saturn in a classic game store and think about picking it up but I always stop when I try to think of what I would even play on it.

Genesis has a solid library of awesome games. I never played any of them until the Wii VC, but there are some proper classics on that system.

Give Gunstar Heroes, Ristar, Dynamite Headdy, Streets of Rage 2, Toejam & Earl, and Castlevania Bloodlines a try on the NSO service. All of them are great.

Yeah I like the mega drive tbh - Sonic is good fun but it's stuff like Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, Super Hang On, that classic Sega arcade library, where it really shines. Indeed for a long time I preferred it to the snes, but that's a position I have changed as I've come to appreciate Nintendo's genius more.

Same. Loved the Megadrive, and it was simply more popular in Great Britain/Europe than the SNES, but I think the simpler, more cartoony artstyle Nintendo went for, along with their greater focus on pure gameplay, has definitely made their titles age better

There's a greater sense of experimentation amongst Sega games though, IMO. Nintendo by that point was already more often refining rather than innovating, but Sega was far happier to throw shit at the wall to see what would stick, and that slightly rough around the edges approach had some fantastic results.

What do you guys think of the Ni No Kuni series ? Have a chance to buy both for $40 brand new sealed , not the biggest fan of RPG's but do enjoy them when done well.

They're absolutely stunning visually, I adore the art style. For some reason I didn't stick at it but that's me, not the game.

What didn't stick? Gameplay, pacing , difficulty, time , to grindy ? Interesting you mention the art style because that's what initially caught my attention.

I think I got distracted by other shiny things - I was in one of those phases. Combat was ok, fairly standard stuff, story was decent enough, I liked the characters, I just forgot about it a bit.

I dropped off Ni No Kuni hard after getting the second character. It's a caster and it absolutely dumps all its Mana in a single fight then becomes suicidal. You can probably mess with its ai, but I didn't figure it out and wasn't liking the game enough to continue at that point. Looks good though.

Genesis library is a treasure trove of hidden gems, even moreso than SNES imho. Almost as much as PSX is

That was the most fun about the console back when I used to collect for it

I miss those days sometimes

I bought the first three Dragon Quest games about an hour ago. The first two are under $5 right now (under 4 hours left until sale ends) and the third one cost like $8 and some change

Can't say if they're great or not, never played them. I bought them because people praise the DQ games constantly
