Oh man what a sad day, I know this is probably not the right time but everyone is probably thinking it but we will never see a proper ending to this amazing story.....
Sad for the fans and long time readers that have almost 2 decades of time invested in the series.
What a bummer for everyone

Just to show you what a prodigious talent Kentaro Miura was, this was his first published manga titled Miuranger.

He made this when he was 10 years old... Yeah, you read right. FUCKING 10 YEARS OLD. Even at that age he was leaps and bounds better than what passes for comic art nowadays.

Oh shit... Despite posting right after you, I didn't even see this until now. That is absolutely awful news. :(

Edit: I didn't realize he was only 54 years old (a little over 9 years older than me, FFS!). That makes it even more tragic, imo.
 
Man I always thought I would die before Miura.

This series is so near and dear to my heart it's hard to cope.

What does that mean exactly? Is he continuing the manga? Unless Miura left some detailed notes as to how the story would reach it's conclusion I don't see that happening.
 
I wonder how much the style will change or the tone. But honestly though I just want the story to progress. There have been some mildly interesting developments but with little pay-off so far. I just want the whole thing to end so we have a complete story.

On one hand I wanna see how the story plays out. On the other hand I'm afraid they're going to fuck it up. Though I'd rather want to see it finished then in a state like this where things are slowly coming together. Keep us updated OP ❤️

The only hesitancy I have towards this is whether or not Miura properly outlined the future of the series up to the end.

sigh... I read it and it's such a good direction for the story to move towards too. but in any case, I ordered this issue's Young Animal from the bookstore in Little Tokyo here and should be getting it around the 25th or so.

Just got book 7&8 of the "deluxe" editions. Such a fun series! haven't read the last two volumes yet (doing a reread of I am Hero now that I tracked down the last two volumes).

I am a hero is an awesome serial. Though (if you are picking up the "omnibus") the first volume is super meh. Lots of self loathing and whining about being a manga artist. But by the end of the first volume it gets good.After that it's a fun ride (so far).

Drifting Classroom can actually be a pretty good live action thing if anyone has the guts to actually adapt it without changing too much.

the live action Berserk on the other hand... yeah, I don't even need to know who's working on it. it WILL NOT be able to compare to the original work no matter what. just freaking throw like 1/10 (hell, maybe even 1/30) of the budge for that live action project into an actually good anime studio and let them work on an actually good modern Berserk anime and you'll get some good stuff. like, WHY? just WHY!?
