all I can say is, I'm hoping for the best, but expecting for the worst. I wish with all my heart that they can pull this off and get a bigger backing to do the rest of it.

I remember watching the anime from 1996 or so and thought yeah that's nice. Then I started watching the one from 2015? and was like what the hell is this abomination. I've never seen a worse anime in my life.

Berserk just deserves a 10/10 anime adaption. It's one of the best ones out there and hopefully studio eclypse will deliver. Trailer looks good so far imo. Let's wait and see

97 suffered from an extremely small budget (it was relegated to a death timeslot) so it had cutbacks like long stills instead of animation. Still felt like actual art and you can feel they polished it as much as possible. It has one of the best soundtracks and some of the best voice acting in a 90s anime as well. Really good sound direction too. I genuinely love it, and it was my introduction to Berserk.

Then an animation company gets $4 million to make the "art" of the 2016. CLANG CLANG CLANG literally unwatchable and unlistenable.

The 97 anime was my introduction to berserk too. And after the first episode I stopped watching the "2016 edition" and switched to the manga which was a joy.

I didn't know that the 97 had such a tight budget. That's why a friend to whom I recommended the 97 animation cannot watch it. He says there's not enough animation. What you say makes total sense regarding his comment. I have to admit I cannot remember it that well anymore only that it was good enough for me back then and I have kept it in good memory.

The manga is taking time now. After studio Gaga started kind of strong the breaks between are becoming longer it feels.
