Thread: What's your origin story? Explain your username and avatar.
@Mirabilis @Musky_Cheese
please excise my shame!

Resolved. Just for future reference in the event a similar situation arises or there's an error in a thread title or something it's best to just use the report post button to alert staff versus relying on a particular admin to be online, generally there's someone around who can expedite matters.

Plus relying on me to carry out complex tasks on a Sunday morning before the coffee has fully kicked in is always a risky request.

Grand Theft Scratchy is a parody of Grand Theft Auto (and I like most GTA games). It is also the name of a level in The Simpsons Game, which had good cel-shaded graphics but gameplay was not as good as The Simpsons: Hit & Run.

The avatar is an action shot of Joe 'Kaz' Kazinsky from this cool couch gag animated by a British guy.

Name is just a fantasy name based on my real name I made for world of Warcraft.

avatar is obviously Lumpy from the star wars holiday special. In high school that was somewhat a legend/myth (pre-internet) and managed to get a vhs copy.

Still can't watch the whole thing in one sitting. It actually causes me to become nauseous/dizzy it's a really weird piece of film.

Nada is the main character in 'They Live' played by Roddy Piper. I've always loved that film since I first watched it in the early 90s , back then it was just a cool sci-fi movie with aliens to my younger more naive self. I miss that ignorant fool 🤣

I found the avatar whilst searching for nada images, with my name also being a No man's sky reference the Nasa logo seemed a cool fit. You know cos space agency and all that. Hey I didn't say it was an interesting origin story...

Why are they separate buttons?

It's a comic book reference. I needed a different name than the one I'm registered with on NeoGaf because Evilore browses other forums occasionally and if he sees you saying something he doesn't like he will ban you from NeoGaf. I won't be surprised if I get banned from NeoGaf anyways. Also, with internet censorship going the way it is, I don't want to be using the same name at multiple forums, as that makes it easier for any algorithms to figure out what all of my accounts are and ban me from multiple places for something I said on one forum.

My nickname is the name of the teenage heavy metal band I played in as a drummer. There were not so much music, but a lot of fun and alcohol. We even had one devoted fan. BFNoise means Brutally Fucked Noise. Nobody of us except our guitar player could play their instruments properly, hence the name.

Avatar is a picture of myself playing bad guy during filming short sci-fi action movie in the middle of 00s. Explosive action, special effects (Sony Vegas ftw!), intrigue. Maybe I'll be "brave" enough to upload it to youtube someday, and it's not only for me to decide. It uses unlicensed music though. We was going to make second part of the movie using proper tools, but got lazy.

I'm blessed to have good friends. I know them from childhood, we grew up together and we are still close. We've done a lot of fun shit together!

CloudNull is play on words for "being a on Cloud Nine". Swapped nine for Null because of coding and it all comes together as remembrance of the flow state I reach while coding. I am on CloudNull when I write my best code/ build systems.

Avatar is communist batman from some random comic someone posted on Gaf. I kind of wish I could remember the source material.

Kadayi is a name drawn from a minor character in the Sci-Fi Novel 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep' (which the film Blade Runner is based on) In the book it's spelt Kadalyi, but I dropped the L because it was easier to type

Avatar is Kuma from Afro Samurai. Not that I was a massive fan of the series, but he was a cool looking character, especially as he's a Ni-To-Kenjitsu practitioner (Two Sword Technique)

Some people say I can be quite cutting, so it seemed appropriate ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I picked a random legend from a random mythology, and then i went to my PFP folder, closed my eyes and clicked on one of the .jpgs. If i missed Mayuri i would have clicked on Half-Light from DE.

Got a ps3 for my 30th and when setting it up I needed a username. Couldnt think of anything any good, so went with farmerboy007. It was that or farmerboy69, LOL. So have stuck with farmerboy for all my online presence so far. Actually not real fond of it.

Current avatar is a irl pic.

So my current avatar is from a movie called Zombie. It's also referred to as zombi 2 and zombie flesh eaters among other titles. It's not actually a sequel to anything but when Dawn of the Dead came out in Italy it was titled Zombi, the version they got was the Argento cut which I'm going to inform people is the inferior version of the film. Apparently in Europe though it's the version theyre most familiar with. I'm a fan of Argento but the other two cuts are definitely superior. Anyways Italy had no problem with pretending one of their movies was a sequel to another movie just to get people out to see it I can't say whether or not the director was in on that decision I'm not sure but that's how it happened.

Zombie is the title I like to go with for it and if you watch it you're going to wonder how they could even pretend it was a sequel to Dawn of the Dead. It's just kind of shameless I think it was just to get people to go to the theaters and by then they hope they like it anyways what you might be surprised to learn is that the horror movie industry in Italy does this all the time a good example would be that this movie has multiple sequels to it that aren't actually sequels. Four and five in particular are absolutely not sequels and just had zombie 4 and zombie 5 put before them.

Anyways the image I'm using is from the poster for the film but also appears within the film it's one of the more iconic looking zombies in the film. In my opinion you can talk up Dawn of the Dead all you want I certainly think it's one of the greatest films ever made but the zombie designs aren't actually that interesting. Lucio Fulci though has multiple zombie films including this one where the zombies look pretty amazing you can tell that there's real effort put into their look. These things aren't just the undead they're pure evil.

Also I'm going to make a controversial statement here and just go with the idea that Lucio Fulci has under his belt a quadrilogy of the best zombie movies ever made even better than Romero's films.

Zombie (1979)
City of the Living Dead (1980)
The Beyond (1981)
The House by the Cemetery (1981)

My avatar is the legend himself "Beat" Takeshi Kitano in the film Battle Royal. The scene is the morning after the first day and Kitano (his character name too!) is doing the announcements of who died over the PA system. For those who were active in the old Gaf movie thread you probably know I am infatuated with Takeshi. He is the Japanese Clint Eastwood. Actor, director, cold, manly.... pretty much all the stuff that makes one awesome.

My user name is an anagram of Karma. Of course no one gets it and just assumes I misspelled "Arkham". But what are you gonna do?

I can pull some strings and get you renamed as "Ramka" if you want

Nickname is a random bunch of letters. Avatar comes from liking The Office even before the popularity of the show exploded in the last few years. Creepy Kevin look seemed like a good pick.
Probably the last great sitcom before the woke madness took over.

Also good choice on avatar.

When I was ten I read a manga called +Anima which had a character named Husky. When I made my first online account shortly after, I included Husky in the username. You could say it stuck. Once I accidentally signed my name as Husky.
My NeoGAF avatar's Roxas, so I wanted something complementary.
