I was trying to find if anyone posted about getting a C3 in the Black Friday thread and couldn't. It says the character string is too short.

Can you change the search settings on the site to allow me to search for C3?

Yeah I asked about that stuff a long time ago. Nothing with three letters or less can be found. You can't search for "God of War" for example. Apparently doesn't work with the forum software xenforo, only finds words with four or more letters.

Unfortunately that a hardwired Xenforo thing. You can't go lower than 3 Characters on a search.

Also @regawdless & @Mirabilis

Unfortunately you can't search below 4 characters because of a restriction within the database which gives D-Pad a hard limit on the search, this is because of a MySQL variable called "ft_min_word_len".The current D-Pad host has hard locked the value at 4 characters to preserve server resources and we cannot change it.

NeoGaf appear to be on a dedicated server; Either they have changed the variable or have installed the Enhanced Search addon($$$) which requires Elasticsearch. We cannot install Elasticsearch on the current host.

Yeah, at this point in time given our modest size and subs base we aren't quite in the income bracket to afford the overhead of a dedicated server on top of existing costs presently, but maybe one day.

yo d pad pros. Need some help regarding a problem I have. Couple of days ago I bought the new iPhone and since then the Twitter links (eg in the funny pics thread) are not loading anymore. It just says "loading tweet" and it doesn't show up. Do I have to change something in the settings (here or on my phone)? Does someone else experience the problem on iOS?

This happens occasionally. It's likely down to X changing stuff at their backend, or some browser update etc not playing nice. We'll look to update the media-sites add-on we use to the latest version sometime today. That might resolve it.

Thanks. I thought that some settings changed on my iPhone. I'll keep an eye on it and if it doesn't work after a week or two I'll ask again :)

I've updated the media addon, if you still have the issue it maybe be down to Enhanced Tracking Protection that's now being built into most browsers which blocks cross site tracking.

Yeah it could be a case of your phones browsers security settings being a tad too sensitive when it comes to cookies, on the site. You should be able to adjust it.

The sad emoji has disappeared off my phone browser? I'm presuming it's a glitch, that the sick emoji wasn't deemed a more important reaction lol.

Thank you. Which does beg the question how do we have the common human reaction of bacon, over sad 😄.

Seriously though there's loads more common uses for Sad. I'd say it's in the top 5 used emotions. Especially for world and chill threads. I'd say it tops Really, Sick, Hell Yeah, Bacon, Cheers, Triggered and Star. Possibly combined. The others not mentioned are all great and as essential though.
