Thread: Welcome to D-Pad: Forum Feedback
Site Update
Few small graphical errors on my phone today (Galaxy s21+). Not a big deal just so you guys know.

1: Numbers 0-9 in white boxes.
2: Next to "Member/custom name" white circle on certain users. Specifically Myself, Bullet Club, Kad, Frankie Family (might be others but not obvious ones you may suspect). So not just OT prep access users etc.
3: New notifications, red box is now white-red.

Are you using some sort of extra dark mode on your browser?

D-Pad.life doesn't have a theme that dark and it looks like something is changing the colours to be more visible.

1: Looks like its putting a white background as its a smaller number.
2: Looks like the Original Poster icon but its inverting the grey background to white while not inverting the icon.
3: Similar to issue 1.

Also noticed that your Prefix colours are messed up as well, on the Dark style they should be orange and the Move Up/Down and Post thread icons are a dark blue where it should be a light blue.

Thank you. I'll have a look. I haven't changed anything, but I wouldn't rule out some kind of update or change was applied over night on my end. I will investigate and report back :)

Might be fun to have a weekly/monthly "top comment" as determined by the reaction emojis.
e.g. "funniest comment this week"
"Most barf worthy comment this week"
"Most This TBH'd comment this week"
etc

@Hostile_18 's voting threads are a regular part of my daily activity. Reactions are a form of voting. Could be a fun meta to the forum 🤷‍♀️

What that sounds like to me is you want dpad to turn into a gross-out competition between @Stouffers and @Haxan7.

Is this where I submit a feature request? I'm just gonna cross-post it from the DEI drama thread. The important part in bold but I left the rest for context.

But this makes no sense. Say I bought the game and went into that thread with 10 others who also bought it. What if 5 of us end up hating the game because of it's woke aspects. Are we not allowed to express any of that in the thread for those that bought and are playing the game? Are we supposed to just go to the other thread to dunk on the game and let those other 5 have their safe space? Furthermore, how are you going to verify that someone bought the game or purchased their ticket to be allowed in that safe space thread?

I feel like people just need to grow a pair, use the ignore function if needed and go on living.

On that note, I have a question. Since I've never ignored anyone I don't know exactly how it works. If I ignore a user in a thread, is it just in that thread or is it site wide? I feel like an option to ignore users on a thread by thread basis should alleviate a lot of these issues. There are times that I enjoy some @teezzy posts for example. But then sometimes in certain threads he starts talking about feet. I've never put him on ignore because even though he's a weirdo I can enjoy his posts for the most part. But I would find him infinitely more palatable if I could ignore him in threads where he won't stop going on about feet.
Basically, my idea was for an option to ignore on a thread by thread basis instead of just site-wide.

Sorry for the delay in responding, but quite a lot going on in RL at present @VlaudTheImpaler

Short answer is no. You can ignore a user or you can ignore a thread, but there's presently no way that I'm aware of to set a user to ignore in a specific thread, not within the existing Xenforo software. I'll dig a little deeper over the weekend into whether there's a 3rd party Add-on, as well as try and catch up with Devildog on it. However my suspicion is that it's the sort of thing that just adds way more overhead to the database in terms of queries which would be the downside.

Well, thanks for looking into it at all. I really do think it would remedy everything people have been complaining about recently. As well as be less work/drama in the long run since it would alleviate the need for more moderation which can get sticky.

Is it possible if the forum could add Bluesky to the media list? A lot of accounts are moving over there and it would be nice to be able to embed stuff from there. :D

It is pretty new on the scene, so it might take a while before the media Site add-on gets updated to support it. However I will mention it on the Xenforo community page and ask the developer directly for you.

Thank you 😊
Idk if Era uses the same software but they just got embed support yesterday.

They might have coded it up themselves. Still I'm not seeing anything in the recent updates for media site pertaining to it presently. However it looks like it is building off Twitter, so I would imagine it would be easy to add on the Devs part, and he is pretty good at updating regularly.

@TaySan no update from the Developer yet, but it does seem a lot of people are asking for it, so hopefully it will happen. The issue might be how Bluesky operates versus Twitter in terms of being decentralized.

@TaySan Got a response from the Dev, he's been working on it already but hasn't finalized it. He is hoping to do that this weekend and put out an update, however, there are not guarantees with these things so he might not manage it, and he's away for a fortnight after that so it might not be for a month. I'll keep you posted though.

@TaySan The addon has been updated with BlueSky support. It is still in a sort of testing phase so if any issues are found, please report them so we can get the info back to the Addon Dev.

Addon Dev said:
I've just published the update. I have a bunch of tests to ensure that things work as expected but if there's any issues I'll make myself available asap.

The bsky.app is allowed by default. AFAICT Bluesky doesn't have a dark theme for their embedded posts but if someone finds any info about it, send it my way and I'll look into it.

Does D-Pad block some VPNs? I bought a Red Shield and when using it sometimes D-Pad gives me a 403 (Forbidden) error.

D-Pad doesn't block VPNs but it is protected by Cloudflare which could block you. If it is Cloudflare, it should give you an error page with a RayID.

If it's not showing a Cloudflare page with a RayID, its possible that the VPN or a browser addon is blocking access.

I have forbidden 403 and openresty/1.27.1.1 message.

Changing location in Chrome helps but on iPhone I seem to always get the error.

After looking through the log files, it seems like the IP addresses that are triggering a 403 response are tagged as malicious and have been added to a blacklist.

It seems like other users of the same VPN provider that you are using are connecting to the same location server and spamming forums or other malicious activity, getting the IP address flagged and causing the D-Pad website host (and probably others) firewall to block access.

This is outside of our control, all I can suggest is that you try connecting to a different location/server that your VPN provider has and hope that servers IP address has not been blacklisted.
