Reviews (PS5)

DF Tech Review (PS5)

Three modes here:
- quality = fixed 3840x2160 at 30fps
- performance = 2560x1440 at 60fps. So basically the PS4 Pro version at double the framerate
- performance plus = 1080p targeting 120fps with some drops

General improvements:
- improved LoD and less pop in
- slightly improved shadows and reflections
- significantly "punchier" colors, improved contrast
- less camera rotation blur
- and of course improved loading times

I am playing Lost Legacy for the first time. I wish they had written new Lara Croft the way they wrote Khloe.
Yeah. Chloe just seem sassy and not asexual like Lara. Great butt too. Lost Legacy is underrated.

Started it the other night but was too late to play it with proper sound on, looks superb, really want to see how the HDR has been changed as well. The new motion blur really helps 30fps look less juddery.

I genuinely think the game looks wrong at 60fps, I just can't get used to it, everything looks like it was made to be played back at 30fps, especially the cutscenes (but I know thats different than gameplay) and when I see 60fps it looks like a motion interpolated 24fps movie trailer to me.

Made it easier to choose my mode ofc, also 1440p is how I originally played it on Pro so I wanted to see the art with more detail since I love looking at stuff, more motion clarity doesn't help me enjoy the graphics more.

I'm sorry PC master man Zefah, if I had the choice of native 4K 60 I might've have chosen that, but spatial image quality is more important to me than temporal most of the time, I'm playing on a super high quality 65" 4K display at 2m distance, so I can easily notice even 1872p vs. 2160p difference. It also makes 30fps look amazing due to the panel PRT which was chosen to make 24hz movies look the best they can without motion interpolation (Its a TV after all, for movies/TV shows).

God damn 4 still looks amazing. Can't wait to get to LL since it's the one I remember the least.
I'm a console gamer at heart. I can't handle these many options on the PS5. Game looks good @120fps with 0 motion blur, but I'm just gonna run the 60fps mode with 80% MB.

Hell yeah! I'm still excited for this.

I remember reading a lot about graphical downgrades (missing effects, etc.) from the PS4 version with the PS5 port, but did all that stuff ever get fixed?

Good question. I'm curious about it as well.

In general, the improvements will be always limited with the Sony exclusives. They could improve the visuals significantly, but won't for obvious reasons. We'll get higher res, fps, slightly better textures and shadows, that'll be it for the most part. Which is fine, better this way than no Sony games on PC.

Kudos to the Days Gone team for adding some good AO and better lighting in the ultra settings. It improved the visuals significantly.

The latest update for the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is now listed as October 19, 2022. Again, this is not a publicly confirmed release date for the collection, but a change to the Steam profile behind the scenes. It's not official, but this date could end up being confirmed in the future. After all, it's PlayStation that's changing this date, which gives it more value than a leak via another retailer.

They must be having some issues with porting the engine. Last of Us remake also doesn't have a date.

With the latter, the tone of the recent blog for Spiderman (we love and appreciate you PS gamers) I just think it's a token gesture before selected day and date releases.

Soon? It's been soon for the best part of the year. It was meant to be shortly after the PS5 release. When Sony nor Iron Galaxy can't even be arsed to make one tweet to communicate with fans. Fuck them. Fuck them all.

Ps take my money now please, daddy.

Soony™ strikes again.

Wow for some reason I thought this released on PC forever ago. I'm just not that in the loop these days.

I feel for all the PC owners who have never gotten to experience the boredom of Uncharted 4.

Epic store had promoted it back to the front page last week, I had hoped news would be imment.

Spiderman got announced miles after this and its out now and Uncharted is no where to be seen. Iron Galaxy remaining silent.

If this had the UC4 multiplayer mode, I'd day one that bitch and play it for hundreds of hours. It was so good and would feel amazing on PC.

Factions II will definitely come out on PC around the same time as on the PS5 and it will be glorious.

The PC version of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection will launch via Steam and Epic Games Store on October 19.

The collection, which includes Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, first launched for PlayStation 5 on January 28.

The PC release date news comes via the Epic Games Store listing for the collection, which has added the following new "Pre-Purchase Bonus" section:

The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, remastered and optimized for PC, hits Epic Games Store on Oct. 19, and if you pre-purchase it, you'll get a snazzy new Fortnite glider in the shape of Sully's seaplane.

To grab the seaplane, digitally and figuratively, you just need to pre-purchase the wonderful Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection from the Epic Games Store starting Sept. XX. You get the glider immediately following your pre-purchase. Or you can wait for the seaplane to hit the Fortnite item shop on Nov. 17.

In Fortnite, the gray and aqua-green Goose spirals up to the player as they drop from the Battle Bus, letting them latch onto grips hanging from its fuselage and then guide the twin-prop plane to whatever landing zone they deem appropriate.

The stunning seaplane glider joins a collection of other Uncharted-themed cosmetics, including Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer outfits, an emote, and two harvesting tools, that made their way into the game earlier this year.

Finally some confirmation! Looking forward to the DF breakdown and impressions to see if this is worth picking up over the PS5 version. I'm really hoping the mouse and keyboard controls are good and performance is solid.

That wide-screen footage is looking good. Curious about the quality of the port.
