Thread: UEFA EURO 2024 |OT| DEUTSCHLAND
With this team. It will be worst

I love Vinie Jr. who shows on the professional stage he might be the best player in the world but his supporting cast is some of the worst Brazil has ever produced. Until they get out of the Neymar generation which is a catastrophic failure Brazil is on the downswing.

All the English commentators are saying there's no way that's a penalty lol.

Am I imagining things or does England get the easiest tournament routes every time?

Always seemed off to me.

Yeah, in no world is that a penalty. Absolutely absurd. What a gift. And the yellow card too to add insult to injury? Outrageous. Netherlands got screwed big time. I didn't really have a dog in this fight, but now I'm rooting for the Dutch.

For the past few tournaments we've definitely had the luxury of the easier side of the draws, just been lucky the way it has shaken out, we still had to beat ze Germans in the last Euros but the WC 2018 was an absolute gift and we still fumbled.

Either way, we've failed to truly take advantage of whatever gifts the football gods have granted us these past 6 years.

Don't think Spain will have much trouble with any of the two. Which is ok, they had the hardest path towards the finale against Germany and France.

England is a shit team and they deserved to lose. How can you hand the ball but GIVE THEM the penalty.

Euros is dog shit. I'm going back to Copa

The problem with this is that the ref did not award the penalty initially and it was the VAR team who told him to go and have a look at it.

If the ref is going to look at the screen then the VAR team have obviously told him "we think you missed something".

Unless the narrative is that the ref has colluded with VAR and the plan was "I will not give a penalty to England but then you VAR guys flag to me that I might have missed a penalty and THEN I'll award the penalty."

Sure feels like we're setting up for an England Euro Cup victory in which they somehow play in such a identifiable losing fashion even when raising the trophy look like shit and don't feel like a winner.

I almost can't see it going any other way. Spain look so good it's only fitting for everything to go sideways in the Finals.

VAR wasn't suppose to tell the ref to look at the penalty according to guidelines. But it also never reminded to show the lead up to the goal for the hand ball.

Both the ref and VAR are at fault here

Well, its usage is meant to cover "clear and obvious" errors, of which, this was neither. Certainly easy for Dutch fans to feel hard done by tonight.

A hand ball isn't a clear and obvious error ?what's the purpose of having a snikometer then. Which BTW they advertised for having SPECIFICALLY for the Euros

"With VAR conversations to be broadcast live, fans watching the action on TV will see the use of the "snickometer" through a graphic measuring any force placed on the ball, which can determine if the ball struck a player's hand in handball decisions."

It clearly shows a handball

I was referring to the penalty decision. I am not sure how far back the VAR team will have looked in regards to the Saka handball.
