I'm not even going to pretend these cards aren't selling like hot cakes, momentum alone is going to keep nvidia on top for generations to come, but that's some suspiciously Ubisoft like word choice there.
And you'd be right because in the past, they launched only one or two models and it took a longer time for the rest of the cards to release.
This time, they launched all cards in quick succession, having more stock than ever before overall but lower amounts per actual card.
So yes, they sold more cards simply because it's the first time launching them all in a smaller timeframe.
Sounds good. As I've been saying lately, the XX60 card's basically ARE pc gaming, and if AMD can cut into Nvidia's stranglehold on that mid tier with a good, well priced alternative, then it will be a huge improvement for the market's health.
Now, the next thing I want to see is a 9050/9050XT getting announced to cater to the lower end of the market, that Nvidia has given up on.
An 8GB 9050 at $150 and a 12GB 9050XT at $250 using the new 3GB VRAM chips would be perfect for budget 1080p gaming and open up that important 'kid gets their first gaming PC' market up to AMD brand loyalty.

Maybe we can call it an assassination if the market responds accordingly rather than doing what Gordon (RIP) said, everyone complaining yet still buying Nvidia. Seems at least a few of us here are still in that camp, myself included.

I guess I'm part of the problem. I was visiting family last week and they happened to live near a MicroCenter. Had been thinking about a 9070xt, but ended up with a PNY 5070ti since it was cheaper than all but two of the 9070xt AIB cards and came with Doom: Dark Ages.
I've been pleased with the build quality and almost silent performance of the PNY card. It's replacing a Asus TUF RTX 3080, which I had thought was relatively quiet, but the PNY is almost silent (granted it's a slightly lower TDP card).

5070ti is a great card, you're not part of any problem. For the price, it offers really damn good performance and is pretty future proof. You'll get way more out of the high end games than with the AMD cards. Congrats on the amazing card, enjoy!

Thanks. I've been moving down the stack having gone from a 1080ti to a 3080, and now a 5070ti.
Had been planning on a 5080, but the large price difference between the cards (at least in the US market) made it hard to justify based on the smaller performance gap.
I had a 3080 as well, peak card tbh. Nvidia pushed the market and stretched the definition of high end, the 5070ti isn't really an xx70 card in the classical sense. That card is competent at doing real time path tracing (very high-end feature) and thanks to the new DLSS transformer model, will provide great performance with clean image quality for years to come.
People tend to bash the current price structure etc. but this card is doing so much and I highly recommend it if you have the budget.
