Really enjoyed the Commodore 64 episode. He brought up games I had almost forgotten about. I grew up with the C64 and had it for years even after NES and Genesis.

I don't even follow all the AVGN drama. I'm not even sure why there's even any hate towards him. He seems like a legitimately good dude.
I will say though I don't really care much for his shows nowadays. He's shilling products before every episode and everything feels forced because he no longer writes his own skits.
Don't really care about his podcasts or all his fat neckbeard friends who really look like a stereotypical basement dwelling gamer.
Still, overall, I really like and appreciate James Rolfe just due to his older AVGN episodes. His shows got me through some hard times a few years ago.
Anyways, I have nothing at all against him and think he's a pretty cool guy but I just don't care much for his newer stuff.

Yeah makes sense. He refused to pay bootsy and kyle. Then he has the nerve to call kyle up years later asking him to play spiderman in an episode. Like yeah kyle builds the new nerd room and the fucking set for the sega activator episode that got destroyed and you want him to do even more shit for free? He's a narcissistic cunt that only cares about himself. He lost all his old friends. The only time he ever talks on the podcast is when somebodys sucking his dick or when he can fellate himself. The rest of the time he just ignores everybody. And this is why he's surrounded by the morbidly obese pedophile and the caveman looking one who's an alcoholic.

I've heard bits of pieces of drama with him, like that whole deal where he supposedly plagarized another channel though it turned out to be his writer or whatever.
I guess I just don't care that much because there's always drama with e-celebs.
I mean, he seems to come off as a decent person, but hey, maybe he isn't. I'm not the best judge of character.
I did hear there was drama with Boots, which sucks because he's legit funny ("where did the hair go" still cracks me up)
I learned the hard way about "not meeting your heroes" and 2014 for me was a rude awakening when I saw people I respected turn out to be really shitty, vile people.
And then there was a certain e-girl I befriended around 2017 after she once decided to DM me her personal life issues. We ended up talking quite a bit and became good friends. Me, her and another girl I had a 'thing' for. All that turned really sour when I found out she was talking shit about me and making up lies.
Unfortunately for me, she got the upper hand and spread all sorts of shit to her, at the time, 7,000 followers (she has around 50k now).
This is person I stupidly held in high regard and who had considered me one, if not, her best friend.
And this other girl I had a thing for? She was in our "friends circle" and when all the bullshit spread about me, that girl I liked straight out said I am a "legitimate pile of shit."

And I feel dumb as fuck for it.
I'm still angry and frustrated but most of all I lost trust for just about everyone. Doesn't help when a shitload of my 2500 mutuals ended up blocking me because, hey, an ugly male will never have leverage against an attractive e-thot.
That incident and my fucking rude awakening after Gamergate?

The Friday the 13th C64 game was great, and he's wrong that you can just go around killing everybody until you find Jason: you only get bonus points if people survive. So you have to find Jason but not kill anyone. It's a cat-and-mouse game.

It's real? Not only does it look amateur but the Freddy and Myers obsession is played out too. Look at his movies, they all follow the same formula he grew up with - cheap slasher films/random object comes to life on a murder spree. He was always a one-trick pony with autism and delusions of grandeur from an early age despite looking like homemade videos (and they are!). Documenting them from the beginning like he would become a famous movie director. Snixx-flix he said. Some of the worst shit put on tape and he made like what, 6 of them thinking they're worthy of awards?
When he is on screen it's always that exaggerated frown and silly moves for comedic effect. Literally not much else. One of the worst actors, he never thought to stop, think and how to evolve: you already know what to get and it gets boring after almost two decades. The few things making it good was the hours spent on the production from pure passion along with shooting the shit with friends giving it different perspectives and needed attitude, but since those are gone there is nothing left. Repeating the same themes while lowering production values make everything that always sucked more evident and played out.
Trying to hold an onion in your mouth for hours because of pure incompetence and refusing to learn new tricks in one scene then scream out "muh time" proves that the guy is genuinely an untalented retard and would be working at Walmart bagging groceries or as a greeter if he didn't catch lightning in a bottle with AVGN, which even then they had to do most of the work and force him to continue. They man originally couldn't bother to make more episodes than 3 despite becoming hugely successful, but 6 sucky snixx-flixxes is totally OK?!
He pushed them all away to keep getting the praise and look where it got him. It's not just the slobs, James is the problem, I don't think he ever had it to begin with and it shows. Seems all he wants in life is to make the same low effort slasher films with minuscule differences while getting the drool wiped off his face by the continuing shrinking fanbase.

It's way too scripted now, but I still enjoy some of what he puts out just because I grew up on most of what he talks about.
Kinda wish he did a Commodore 64 episode a few years back instead of now.

Wanted to mention my alternative to AVGN is RLM now.
But damn even they're slacking.
There's a lot of movies they just don't bother reviewing now.
No review of Tomorrow War or Shang-Chi? Maybe they've just had it with Marvel bullshit and don't want to review a made-for-streaming movie but they have in the past.
They also reviewed series like Mandalorian and The Boys but don't think they did any on Loki.
They must be getting tired. Kinda worried they're going to do less like how James Rolfe eventually went.
Difference is RLM is still consistently funny. But man I like fat Rich Evans. He's all slim now.
But damn even they're slacking.
