Thread: Remnant II launches July 25
At long last.

I've gotten past the cubes. Holy shit.

Control 2 could also take a few notes from Remnant 2, especially with upgrading gear and combat. In fact the Cube was very similar to a very dangerous object of power.

Control, Hogwarts Legacy and Remnant 2 all have those forming platforms and space time weirdness. The way you have gate ways for dimensions also.

Sure would be cool if I could play some co-op. What's with games never being finished anymore? Sucks cause I like this one, and I can only run so many nightmare dungeons and helltides before it all starts to blend together

Running cube gun, destroyer arbalist and huntress spear. Unlocked Hunter Archetype. Belatedly realized the medals that can be bought from some venders unlock them, though I've got a stone that can unlock alchemist.

Red Prince was very tough but able to take him down once I noticed his tells. The fight with him was epic.

Night Weaver? Fuck them.

Any word on the PC version? How does UE5 run and scale here? I've seen that the DLSS3 implementation sucks, with hitching and uneven animations.

Alright so this is 20 Euro on the Epic Store. I won't ever multiplayer this game, is it worth it single player only?

Yes. Easily one of the best games of the year. Most people are too retarded for multiplayer in a game like this—either shit builds or skill issues—so I never bother with it anyway.

Still at the very beginning. Super B Tier in everything, cringe voice acting and writing, overall kinda cheap feel, but that was expected and is ok. The gameplay will have to carry this game.

Visual wise, Nanite gives some great results in indoor areas, with incredible texture details and geometry. 1440p with DLAA looks very clean and runs at 60fps maxed on my rig.... with some dumb ass traversal stutters, it's UE5 after all.

So, indoor looks great. Outdoor areas especiall showcase the really bad lighting, man I wish they went with Lumen. The indirect lighting sucks (there is basically none) and it looks very flat and bland. Here, the underside of that structure above (guess it's a bridge) should be darker and not having that glowy look, the shoulder plate shows no real lighting properties, it's all pretty ugly and flat outside.

Ok so what really hurts the games visuals is missing Ambient Occlusion. Many objects don't have any AO, looks hideous. I'm trying some Reshade here, maybe MXAO can fix some of it. Look at these objects, no "grounding" at all. Can't be so hard to add AO in freaking 2023, what's wrong with the devs.

Ended up refunding the game, unfortunately. It didn't resonate enough with me.

Story and characters were super bland, dialogue was annoying. And there was too much dialogue in the beginning, the execution of the whole intro was weak. Don't put much focus on it if it's weak, dear devs. Keep it quick and simple if you don't have the budget and / or skill. Gameplay wise, stiff animations, movement didn't feel good, dumb level design in the first world with worthless dead ends, it all felt rather janky. Gunplay was average, combat kinda meh. I'm sure it'll get better and more interesting over time with more abilities etc. But I don't have the patience at the moment and I guess I'm spoiled by Wirchfire, made by a super small team but the combat feeling magnitudes better and more satisfying.

I finished it in 15 hours, but I kinda agree with you. There were a couple of sub-levels which I really enjoyed, but overall I found it average to ok. It was definitely a huge improvement to the first game. Things I want them to improve is the stiffness and animations, as well as some of the level design.

I have no issue with b tier stuff and jank, if dialogue sucks and there are issues. But if you have these shortcomings, better make damn sure that you absolutely nail a few aspects to keep me interested. Make evading feel great, make the movement smooth as hell or make shooting and reloading feel satisfying, or make impacts on enemies visceral and crazy. Give me something. Doing a lot of things but them only being kinda ok across the board isn't enough.
