Linus Tech Tips used to be the same. I think even if youtubers try to be unbiased, they tend to be more critical of systems they don't use very often and are more supportive of systems that they do use more often. How come I always get the feeling the DF guys don't like Nintendo in general?

Mini rant / observations here - but they don't, except John. But even he bs's about Nintendo hardware like how in the world is switch xbox 360 level hardware? With 8x the ram and ~ decade newer (and faster) gpu. Luigi's mansion 3 is 1080p with lighting rarely seen on ps4. 360 games were 720p at best. How come I always get the feeling the DF guys don't like Nintendo in general?
Nintendo's big mistake with the Switch 2 is this:
They are trying to integrate customers deeper with online, download, temporary ownership of games. They want you connected, they want you subscribing. My concern is that physical collectors will suffer further, not able to own a "full" game on the cartridge/disc.
Shitty part is Switch eshop used to be blazing fast… Used to be able to race it against the PS4 shop and you could get to the purchase page before PS4 could load the store…. god forbid you press up and load the full screen movie, that's your day gone lol. I think when they started doing the slideshow on hover it started getting really awful.
Isn't this the point of that "Game Key" or am I missing something? If you give me your key card, I can download and play the game and you can't until I give it back, and that ought to work for n users… like a physical cart.
The real issue then becomes when the Switch 2 servers shut down these things become useless.
You're getting some benefits of physical — not all, and removing some of the flaws of digital, but not all. (sharing and reselling)
Not a perfect solution but it seems like a lifeline to physical more than a funneling to digital…. unless I'm missing something about how it works.
So what are the odds that Nintendo still increases the price despite the pause and what looks pretty clearly like a change (lower) to Vietnam tariffs.
I just want to preorder the damn bundle at the published price.
Pretty low IMO.

There are still about 2500 stores! So about 250k for GameStop on launch day? If you account preorders and launch day for all retailers! They really shipped and are expecting big launch!!
They charged full price for 1-2 Switch.
Welcome Tour is a generous price![]()
Agreed. I'm just hoping I'm able to pre-order hassle free. I'll be very annoyed if I somehow am unable to secure one.
That I doubt. Cancelling the preorder date will probably make more people try and preorder when it does become available. I think pre-order cancellation is all about allocating units worldwide, so unless the current tariff status is a green light to jam the ports with containers of Switches from now until June (no idea), it's probably not going to meet the initial demand by quite a lot. I predict Switch Alerts all year all over again.

Mostly agree. But I think we'll see DLSS. The whole point of the tech is to get more frames cheaper. RT on the other hand probably doesn't make much sense to use much on this level of hardware.I think DFs cyberpunk analysis shows that the Switch 2 is somewhere between the PS4pro and Series S.
Its running next gen exclusive DLC but at PS4ish settings. It does drop frames but that's in the same areas that the next gen system drops frames. Also though this is an old build so some of the frame issues could be resolved
CPU seems to be the one place that the Switch will come up short so games may face a bottleneck there.
The system will do things the PS4 was never going to do like 120 fps 4k output or running next gen games like the Cyberpunk DLC.
The CPU is what will limit the system in catching up to a series S and it's possible that last gen pro systems might run some games a bit better in some areas.
I also think DLSS and RT might be to expensive for the system. If DLSS was possible I think we would see some launch games using it to upscale to 4k or get better frames

"a bit slow / laggy?" The thing is borderline unusable. They've probably lost tens of millions at a minimum due to how shitty the store experience was.
