Looking back, Nintendo EAD put some serious music into these Divine Beasts. When listening to these tracks it creates the sense that Link's environment and tasks at hand are extremely grim. They were, but damn I never noticed how dire the sound was for most of them until now. The lightest among them would Vah Medoh but even there, it feels like a lot was dependent on what Link would do as the hero when listening closely. Link was on the back and wings of Vah Medoh but it was Link who carried Vah Medoh, the Rito, Revali

Can't wait for the next portion of news involving Breath of the Wild's sequel. And I can't even imagine what the title will be. They're always fairly iconic. I'm just glad that we're going to get another profoundly large scale look at Hyrule again. And there's a strong possibility that there will be two sentient villains in this upcoming TLoZ game. This could be the one, the one game Eiji Aonuma has been waiting for all this time, his magnum opus. Although one can argue he managed that on his first try with Majora's Mask working closely with Yoshiaki Koizumi and Shigeru Miyamoto
As long as the title isn't Breath of the Wild 2 I'll be happy. Xenoblade 2 and Splatoon 2 are enough.

Pleasantly surprised that the Switch Sports collection is only £30. Expected full price, but Nintendo actually managed to shock me.

How nice it is too, to have bowling back in virtual form. I haven't tried chambara, volleyball or football yet but I am excited to give them a go.

@Franky Family How do you like VII compared to IX so far? Did the remake move up on your list to play?
It's a tough question to answer. For now, I'll reserve my response until I'm finished with FFVII, but I have to say that both are unbelievable games in their own ways. And that FFIX's beginning is an invaluable experience to any gamer. I believe FFIX might have the greatest beginning in video game history. I'll make a thread comparing and contrasting the two when I'm finished to fully explore all thoughts and feelings

You bet it will, or some variation of it. Curse of The Wild.
It's almost guaranteed that the title will not follow at all from "Breath of the Wild" but instead be something completely different. There has actually never been a recurring title in the series, not once, and this is with plenty of sequels. The only constant has been "Zelda" and then after, "The Legend of Zelda" so the pattern is likely to continue and the game will be aptly named yet again

Breath of the Wild fit the theme of the game to perfection imo. I would encourage fans to play the game and think about what the title means to them because it is no simple title, not at all. It may seem so on the surface, however. But as far as the next one goes, I believe the game will have yet another unique title, 100%. It kind of makes sense to simply name it BOTW2 in terms of marketing, but the story is going to be completely different as we all can safely guess and by going by the trailers, pretty much know. There was a being casting a powerful spell in those catacombs. In BOTW it was only the Calamity Ganon which was purely primal in its nature, but it seems that there are now two potential villainous bodies involved in the story

In BOTW the heroes shined a bit more in the limited portions of story that were discovered throughout the game. But in this sequel I believe that there will a tremendous emphasis on the complex motives of the villain(s) again. That is my guess. And with that kind of story, another unique and completely new title will come to be. They have this sequel coming up yes, but these stories always advance in very sophisticated ways imo. If Nintendo simply named this Breath of the Wild 2 I would be entirely shocked, as well as plenty let down like the rest of you. But I don't think it will happen because there's an opportunity to create anew and move forward in the way of title. It would be utterly foolish to just slap BOTW2 on the game as its title even if it could potentially ensure that the game sells about as much from a marketing standpoint

^^ Just realized I wrote an essay about a Zelda title Wiiiiiihahahaha!!!!!! WiiiiiHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!

New overview trailer released a couple hours ago

It looks like Soccer + Hockey + elements of Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros all in one

Been watching this trailer a lot, really love what I'm seeing from the animations, has that Next Level games quality.

One thing I noticed that I'm pretty sure they didn't show was career mode, but I'm pretty sure it's their since what I assume was the main menu said "Free Battle" "Cup Battle" and "Striker Cup" which was the online season mode. So who knows, maybe their are unlockables through Cup Battle. It'd be pretty weird to have a Mario Spin-off without Daisy in the base roster.

The music is fire imo, I'm gonna love this soundtrack I can already tell.

and I guess the implied story in this game is that this is some kind of inter-dimensional Striker league pitting different dimensional versions of the Mario crew against each other? Which sounds pretty cool but I'm not sure if they're actually gonna make a story on that.

Looks incredible, totally looks like they took note of Rocket League, added the classic Mario Kart items to sabatage, some Super Smash Bros. attack moves and now it's looking to be in a category of its own since it's Super Mario. I vowed to only play sports irl and not in video games ever since 2012 but this almost looks like too much fun to pass up

The previous two Mario Strikers games were always considered the best sports spin-offs due to how much more Mario/arcade influenced they were instead of just being a sport that has Mario characters in it, which makes it a lot more interesting. As much as I love Mario Tennis Aces, I wish it, along with other Mario sports spin-offs, took note from the strikers series and separate itself from the sports aspect and give it more of a Mario feel.

Well, atleast when it comes to gameplay, since the first two games aesthetics aside from one stage in Strikers: Charged weren't really Mario themed and were completely original iirc.

I thought Aces was middling and Super Rush was bad. I really like arcade sports titles. I've not tried the Strikers series so I'm going to give it a whirl. It does have the benefit of me not comparing it to Virtua Tennis, Top Spin or Everybody's Golf like the previously mentioned titles.

So some more news came about Fire Emblems Three Hopes last week, I don't think it has been mentioned here yet.

So support conversations return, that's good for getting more info on characters and giving good returns for the time taken to train every character.
Also daily(probably) quests also return from three houses, with training together and eating a meal together returning as seen in this pic:

Mercedes returns, so that is cool as well. Blue Lions was my favourite so I hope Anna comes back as well.

I haven't played the game but from what I heard it had a dumb story and bad D-Pad controls. Perhaps it is the Starfox Adventures of the franchise (I think that game's okay, absolutely superb soundtrack). I'm glad Metroid Dread worked out though.
other m is actually a good game don't listen to people hate it. Its not the best game in the series but I enjoyed it when I was a kid. Its biggest flaw is its control scheme but everything else is fine. Its just different than the other games in the series and thats why its hated.

"[….]However, Tokia added that the team's love for the game also added extra time to development. "The staff in charge of pixel art loved Live A Live so much they drew twice as many movements as we had expected. Even during the development period, everyone had 1.5 times the passion and momentum. We were able to develop passionately until the end and it ended up as something over and above our expectations."

Live A Live makes its worldwide debut in HD-2D on Nintendo Switch on July 22, 2022.

Damn, the "when I was a kid" Metroid game for me was Super Metroid. Society really did fail your generation.

Having nine scenarios or chapters to play in Live A Live is gonna be great. I'm interested to see how the story goes, how it all plays, and how it ties together

So the sales figures of the Nintendo Switch upto the 31st of March came out a few days ago. Here are the new rankings for console sales:

SWITCH Total: 107.65 Million

For comparison:

PS2: 155 Million
Nintendo DS: 154 Million
Gameboy/Gameboy Color: 118.7 Million
Playstation 4: 116.9 Million
SWITCH: 107.65 Million
Playstation 1: 102.49 Million
Wii: 101.63 Million

The Switch is Nintendo's biggest selling console and it is getting closer to the Gameboy and PS4. Does anyone want to guess where the Switch ends up?
I'm thinking it will probably peak around 130-135 Million, thoroughly destroying both the PS4 and the Xbox One.

Depends entirely on how long Nintendo keeps manufacturing it.

Hypothetically, Sony could've extended the PS4's total sales numbers (and lifespan) by 15-30 million by simply manufacturing a budget $200-300 PS4 slim for another 2-3 years.

What an awful Nindie Direct. Only shit. And I'm gonna be trans now, because apparently all these games are made for lgbt people. Everything must be "nice", and "cozy", full of "harmony", everything is "funny" and "cute". BARF. I feel like buying "Hatred" and playing nothing else anymore. And then there were these two developers who, I guess, are supposed to be men, but goddamn to they look like butch lesbians:

wait i didn't watch anything did big n go woke?

Nintendo aren't woke - indie generally is though. Not Nintendo's fault tbh.
Nah I disagree here. Nintendo of America have clearly slidden as much as the rest of the industry. You look at an indie showcase from 2017 and compare it to this one and the difference is night and day.

Yes, there are more woke zoomer figlets making shitty 2D narrative driven LGBT wank festivals than there were 5 years ago, but NOA chooses to highlight them exclusively. This showcase was fucking appalling because it was all about representation. That's on Nintendo of America. Japan, of course, remains based for now at least.

It's most likely gonna sell like 160-165 million if my guess ends up being correct. It may be on the latter portion of its life cycle but it's only the start of that time IMO

Two very strong years are ahead at least. The new Zelda game is probably going to blow people's minds and I wouldn't be surprised if we get another Mario game, and another Donkey Kong game in 2023 either
