Yeah though textures are better than halo 4 but the rest is comparable. I mean switch has >6x the usable ram vs 360 so textures have to be betterI disagree. It looks like late X360 game, sort of like Halo 4. I think it look pretty good and Switch 2 will probably have sharper resolution and textures.

Is it a Switch 2 game? I was under the impression it is a Switch 1 game.
Anyways, I disagree with your disagreement. It isn't a wow by any standard, just a few extra fancy things going on with that fire and smoother fps, but the models certainly have more polygons, but it still looks like a smoothed out Gamecube, maybe Wii release of the Prime games to my eyes. Hence looking like it runs on Dolphin emulation.
Well go on youtube and search for dolphin footage. It looks very extremely low poly with simple geometry, no normal maps and fancy effects.
Yup, that is a Metroid Prime game.
I'm hoping the footage shown is just a tidbit of the game, because like the other critiques in this thread, it looks like a Gamecube game running on Dolphin emulation.
Funny you chose to shit on Metroid when every other game in the Direct looked like pure ass.
I am not shitting on Metroid. I am critiquing Nintendo's showing on this long in the tooth developed game.
Pay attention.
It's a Switch game (the best looking one by far). What the fuck did you expect? Ray tracing?
Look at the rocks behind the ship in the beginning, clearly dense and detailed and maybe even physically based?Well go on youtube and search for dolphin footage. It looks very extremely low poly with simple geometry, no normal maps and fancy effects.
Lol. I have already handled your two ripostes and you seem mad. What is your next complaint on my opinion?
You are going to have to cope and seethe.
I'm never mad. If you think this looks like a 2002 game enjoy your ignorance, but no need to be cheeky about it.
Everyone was expecting Saga Frontier 2 Remake since they did a Remaster of 1.Romancing Saga 2, not Frontier.
I have a feeling that Mario Kart X and the new 3D Mario will be Q3/Q4 2025 releases to coincide with the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros.
Perhaps games like Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Decapolice, and Professor Layton and the New World of Steam end up coming to Switch successor as well, since they are slated to launch sometime in 2025. If we don't hear about Metroid Prime 4 tomorrow during the Direct then it's possible it is one of their big releases for next year.
A new 3D Kirby would be good too but they might have only recently begun work on it.
You guys thought Metroid Prime 4 looked bad? What?! I thought it was an easy contender for best looking Switch game..
Everyone was expecting Saga Frontier 2 Remake since they did a Remaster of 1.
Now people are still expecting Frontier 2, but now a SaGa 3 Remake eventually.
Romancing SaGa 2 Remake looks absolutely incredible, possibly even more then the already fantastic looking Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake.
Never really played them, just heard by their reputation. SaGa are very, very unconventional RPGs from what I hear. Ie, one example may be leveling up too much can actually fuck you over.I have never played a SaGa game but 2 remake has me interested, do I need to play the previous game?
Can already tell it's gonna be hard to not daydream about this one. To say I'm hyped is an understatement. I could hardly believe that they brought back Mario's Rainbow Castle and Western Land... Just seeing a new Mario Party game was a shocker in itself. I'm not kidding when I say that it was 100% written off as a next gen game for 2025 in my mind. To say I'm hyped for this game is an understatement for sure, because its vacation island theme was strong enough but they're also adding two extremely solid retro boards that match everything shownSeven boards just like you asked for bro!
Im always down for more mario party

-Honestly do you guys play these games or do Digital Foundry benchmark videos on them??? MP4 looks siiiiick.
-Cool to see a new 2D Zelda, I really thought it was going to be A Link Between Worlds remake.
-Nothing else I cared about but a pretty solid showcase for this late in the game.
For real! Definitely sharing code with the Prime Remaster which is the handily the best looking game on Switch (or maybe Astral Chain.... )
I thought the new Zelda was a A Link Between Worlds port, or a remake of the Oracle games at first.-Honestly do you guys play these games or do Digital Foundry benchmark videos on them??? MP4 looks siiiiick.

Yes, I play the Metroid Prime Games. I played them day of release, I played them on Dolphin, I played the remasters on Wii, I played those remasters on Dolphin.
The game, for the reasons why I stated, look like the formula hasn't changed (which is concerning when they tend to iterate on each subsequent release for their IP's), and it is probably due to Nintendo holding out for a bigger showing later.
I didn't expect a formula change... in fact I'm pretty confident that the reason they scrapped the original in 2019 and hired Retro is they probably went too far off book with the initial concept. Metroid fans are fickle as fuck... they want Prime. I don't know what the "Breath of the Wild" ground-up reimagining of Metroid would be, but it ain't coming from Nintendo!
As far as the look goes, it looks like MP Remaster which looks waaaay better than an up-rez to me, but I don't play on Dolphin so if it looks the same to you, who am I to say
The formula I am talking about is about a jump in tech from the first trilogy. Prime 3 had that using the Wii-mote, and it was fine. So much in that playing the other two with the Wii collection remaster was a preferred way for me.
That 2 minute trailer showed NOTHING NEW. And I didn't expect that. I do expect Nintendo to have something up their sleeve. They always do, but I am surprised they were so restrained in this showing. <-my only point. Nintendo fans can either be butt hurt about that reality or stay mad.
I'm a Metroid fan. So much, that I want Nintendo to knock this out of the park, but with Dread, they are giving the IP the attention Japan can muster, which is to say, not like they do with Mario or Zelda.
I don't know if you'd call it new, but the amount of action and motion in every frame is pretty innovative for the series. Going back, Prime looks positively static... Back in the day they had that "cinematic storyboard artist" hire everyone thought meant cutscenes and narrative... maybe it was this? and that "living" style is throughout the game? Something more of a real-time event happening rather than the Sherlock Holmes crime scene scanning of a relatively dead world?
I'm not butt hurt lol, just wondering why we saw two different things.
What's your thoughts with Dread? Not sure what you mean.
Dread was a 3.5 out of 5 in what should have been a 5 out of 5 for Nintendo. I won't go into it here, as I have discussed it previously. I'm glad they made a side scroller Metroid game, it just wasn't fantastic.
