It's a kind of cultural colonialism when you think about it.
They are flushing beloved franchises down the toilet. They didn't make it for Resident Evil fans. Netflix is a left wing propaganda machine. They are purposefully taking franchises popular with primarily white males and remaking them for a different audience.

What's next - a Metal Gear show...but Solid Snake is overweight, has blue hair and voted for Biden - while also making snarky meta-commentary via Codec about wanting to have sex with Peppa Pig & Lizzo?

I too remember when Resident Evil became shooting-action focused starting with Resident Evil 6.

What kind of body is that? LMAO![]()
This is who reviewed it. Fair to say he has no taste.
The show has maybe one redeeming quality in Lance Reddick and even he is wasted on this fetid production.

I'm glad they did - I contemplated leaving for many months beforehand; they just saved me the trouble of deciding whenNo wonder RE banned your bigoted ass.
*Not everyone there is abysmal, however. There are some good people there that I hope will come here.

Japanese Fans Criticize Netflix's Resident Evil "More Like Politically-Correct Hazard"

Netflix just kicked off its new Resident Evil series, and as initially expected, the show has been scoring poorly amongst actual fans, including those in Japan, who are generally more forgiving when it comes to live-action adaptations.
Since Netflix's new Resident Evil show debuted on July 14th, it has scored as low as 53% by critics and a 1.8 amongst users on Meta Critic:

While there are plenty of shows and movies that score lower with critics and higher with the general audience, it wasn't the case for Resident Evil, with scores as low as 22% from the audience on Rotten Tomatoes and a 3.6 on IMDB:

The Netflix CG anime, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, also had low scores but were still higher with a 50% rating from critics and a 39% audience score. Some suggest the low scores could be due to the changes made to Albert Wesker's character, but Japanese fans had plenty of other criticisms about the show:
"I'm watching Netflix's Biohazard right now, but it is Politically-Correct Hazard, as expected. It's such a waste to go with Wesker again when you're going with a new approach for the story."
"That last CG anime Resident Evil on Netflix was also pretty iffy."
"All I have to say is the Netflix Resident Evil is honestly no fun at all. I just turned off my brain to watch it and still had enough."
"I started watching the Netflix Resident Evil show and I've never felt the 'this isn't it' feeling so hard because of the influence of political correctness, I had to stop watching. And I even liked the Wesker too."
"The new Netflix Resident Evil drama is such a waste of time, I dumped it already."
"I was checking out the Netflix Resident Evil drama, but I couldn't get over how egotistical the female protagonist was…"
"I watched the Netflix Resident Evil, but it was just stressful, the producers just don't get it do they? All we need for Resident Evil is 'explore, run away, and escape,' okay? We don't need any of this human drama bullshit. They could've just made a live-action Revelations and it would've defnitely been more fun."
"I heard the Netflix Resident Evil show is terrible. Too bad we can't make Japanese movies but with American money. Then we can hold back on the American-level political correctness."
"It's fine to have Black people in there, but don't go around changing characters that were originally white. That's such a selfish change based on one's own convenience."
"It was okay."
"The part that Americans really don't seem to understand the most is why feel the need to change the race or gender of already existing characters? Why not just make a Resident Evil with a new story and new characters, and then they can pack it full of Black people and people of color."
"It doesn't seem like Black people are particularly happy about this. It's probably vocal minority nonsense if so."
"This is the result of a Black-washed Resident Evil."
"Did they think they could make something so boring and hide behind the shield of political correctness?"
"Netflix originals are always full of weird shit."
"Congratulations, Capcom!"
"DEEP♂DARK♂FANTASY"
"Resident Evil 5 had a bunch of Black people, so why not bring them out for that?"
Even Japanese fans are tired of Netflix's shit:

As someone who lives in an Asian country and knows firsthand the attitudes people have towards black people, this is nothing new.God, I love Japan.
Even beyond the rage if tribal Majinis appeared and were gunned down in the action scenes, imagine sexy-ass Sheva being in it.
"Colonizing black bodies!"
"She isn't dark enough!"
It's almost like the games media industry is an (generally metaphorically) incestuous (often literal) orgy of people united by Marxist ideology.
Resident Evil Degeneration is still my favorite adaptation of the games and it's also not some reimagining of the lore.
I'll always argue that hand-drawn or CG animated movie adaptations are a more interesting direction than live-action when it comes to video games. Especially in the case of the Resident Evil series. They should have adapted Resident Evil Outbreak into a series.
The Capcom produced CG movies are awesome - truly a respectful extension of the games in narrative, atmosphere & character development.
FAR better than this Netflix dogshit.
You must mean this scene from Resident Evil: Damnation (it seems copy right strikes don't include anything in Spanish lol)The CGI movies are still shit, but at least they're entertaining shit.
I particularly liked the one where a Licker runs away from Leon, Ada has a sexy 'oh no my clothes are bring cut off!' Fight, and at the end Leon removes a plagus parasite from a dudes spine by shooting it off, while standing in front if him.

At least you get some nice sexy ladies if anything unlike the shitflix show.

I tried to get through the second episode, but I couldn't even give it any attention. Just mindnumbing stuff.Watched the first episode for the lols and it's so fucking bad LOL
Because they don't want to create a show for fans. They want to create a show to appeal to the TikTok generation and young'uns. Its just a bad show. I don't understand how you can fuck up an live action Resident Evil.
The lore is entirely there, there are so many zombie movies to learn from etc etc.
