The Brethren Moon was fucking awesome. I loved that concept. Very Lovecraftian while also finally giving some answers about what the Necromorphs were. I also think Dead Space 3 was the only horror game that implemented co-op properly, as rather than having some dumbass AI follow you around or otherwise simplifying the level design, the game instead just has Isaac Clarke play through the levels solo on single player, and only have Carver show up in co-op. Otherwise, Carver's offscreen doing NPC shit.I'm not. I loved 3, moon boss and all.

Dead Space 2 and the enemies were Stalkers.Which one had the quick "raptor" baddies? What I do remember is fighting them and getting a "Clever Girl" trophy for it. Made me chuckle. That was before that meme went mainstream.
Yup. It's a really cool (and terrifying) way of resolving Fermi's Paradox. There were other alien species out there, but they all fell under the spell of the Markers and eventually were consumed into becoming another Brethren Moon. And yeah, exploring the old alien ruins was great. I always had a thing for archeological digs uncovering some horrifying secret or power from the far past. You can blame me watching Indiana Jones too much as a kid for that.I loved the Brethren Moons.
They pretty much strongly hinted at a giant Necromorph in Dead Space 2 so I was expecting something, just not something THAT humongous so that made it all the more awesome.
Plus the art direction and aesthetics.
Another thing I liked about DS3 was that they we are shown other intelligent lifeforms existed but they were just BTFO by the Necromorph, and why everything is "Dead Space" in truth. And I loved the design of those aliens from Tau Ceti IV.
So I'll never get the hate too much over DS3. Personally, I think all the mainline games plus Extraction were great.
In fact, being published by EA, I feel Dead Space 3 was the opposite of Mass Effect 3. Where ME3 had a horrible conclusion, DS3 had a very satisfactory one imo.
I just wish we could continue our journey. I want to know more about the Moon's, like where they came from.
Oh no same here. I love that theme/trope or whatever you want to call it as well.I always had a thing for archeological digs uncovering some horrifying secret or power from the far past. You can blame me watching Indiana Jones too much as a kid for that.
Yeah, so a lot of my games that I enjoy have aspects like this. Doom 3 has the ancient Martian civilization that provided the technology for teleportation, only to realize that said teleporters tunneled to Hell and the Martian civilization was wiped out by the demon invasion. Return to Castle Wolfenstein had the Nazis trying to revive an ancient wizard warlord to help with the war effort, and Wolfenstein 2009 had the Thule Civilization that discovered an alternate dimension that also acted as a very potent power source, but lost control and of course wiped themselves out.Oh no same here. I love that theme/trope or whatever you want to call it as well.
I read it as GOW reimagining/continuationWhy reboot after 3 games. Might as well make a new game instead of a reboot.
Electronic Arts' unannounced Dead Space game is reportedly "a full-fledged remake" inspired by Capcom's recent Resident Evil games.
That's according to a new report on GamesBeat, which corroborates Gematsu's earlier claims that a new sci-fi horror instalment is in development at EA's Motive studio.
The new report claims that for its Dead Space reboot, Motive is taking notes from Capcom's recent Resident Evil remakes.
"Like Resident Evil 2 Remake, expect the next Dead Space to use the original game as a strong foundation. But it should also have modern visuals. And it will likely bring in new gameplay mechanics inspired by other entries in the franchise," the publication claims.
"And speaking of Capcom, it is likely a major reason a new Dead Space is happening. While EA has let its horror franchise wither, the Resident Evil series is larger than ever. And Capcom has provided an easy blueprint for EA to follow."
