Thread: GTA VI Trailer 2
Game Of The Generation

Some Era posters are mad because a good number of the staff are white men lol
Isn't Rockstar based in Scotland? Despite the influx of illegals into the UK in recent years, I'm pretty sure the white population outnumbers the minorities by a huge amount. Of course there'd be more white people amongst the staff! Fucking idiots.

And what's so fucking wrong about having white people in the staff? If the were qualified for the job then more power to them. Unlike minorities hired through DEI - Didn't Earn it.

While I can believe it was on PS5 I find it a bit questionable. Why are there no other PS5 games of this quality of level. How come one game looks significantly next gen compared to other games of it's generation on the same hardware.

Does this illustrate how incompetent and low quality other companies have been with PS5 or is the pretense for this game playing on the PS5 to sound like the launch of a space shuttle.

I could honestly do with just GTA5 graphics and a new story.

Now my biggest concern is if even my PC's 2080 can run this shit.

Its probably all cut scenes no actual game play. Also with quick 2 second scenes and complete camera controls viewed on a phone or YouTube its easy to hide lots of stuff.
The game will look good but I am sure when you are playing it on a 4k 65 inch tv in actual gameplay you will see odd shadows some jaggies here and there bad animations etc....

Tell me about it.

I was so fucking hyped for RDR2 as I love western themed games, and I played Red Dead several times before RDR2 came out.

I never made it further than 30 minutes into RDR2 because it was so fucking boring.

If I wants to ride a horse, I will fucking do it in real life.

I want to shoot cowboys

That makes me sad to hear, but I understand it. It took until this year, playing RDR2 on a fully loaded PC, that it finally hooked me. Now I've put over 100 hours into it and it truely is one of my favorite games ever made. But that opening few hours are horrible. (also playing at 120fps + Nvidia reflex + some mods make the game feel snappy and soooo much better than it did on the conoles)

To be fair the opening act is fucking boring …it's not until you get to valentine where you get the good feels of the game

But why, if Rockstar chose to go fmv (as in pre rendered) would they allow stuff like this to slip through...

RDT-20250506-1621218895718131283562309.jpg

...where there is a very clear draw distance limit for the ray traced reflections? Seems like an odd thing to do. If you're going full on fmv why would you allow in game real time limitations within the pre rendered trailer?

I was making a tongue in cheek remark about how it was playing on a base PS5. That it was just running a video (captured elsewhere).

In all seriousness it could have been captured on a platform that would not actually be able to run the game at that fidelity. It's fairly common. Lots of tricks that can be done (or if early enough not done) that heavily lightening the load.

lmao that was actually a thing on GAF before the PS5 came out. There was someone there who was convinced that the fine print at the bottom saying "running on a PS5" meant that they just had a video running on the PS5.

I can't remember who now. Hell, maybe it was the VFX retard everyone wants to suck off around here.

That looked a lot better than anticipated, even story wise. Bonnie and Clyde type story in GTA world?

Bonnie and Clyde seems to be the setup. My guess is that they're going out Bonnie and Clyde style too and we'll end up with a new couple for the end game.

The waiting is the hardest part.

Looks really good. The cliff area looks like Georgia or Bama

That ass is too fat.

Nature is healing.

That was a massive step down from the first trailer for me.

It was kinda low energy tbh. Subject matter wise I'm getting some real Fast and Furious vibes.

Yo they can show lady booty in games again now we're back baby

It even has physics, tbh I'm surprised. That and having leads of a AAA game being a straight power couple is unexpected af for me.

No fucking way this is true unless R's engineers have cracked the optimization code.

Controller looks like DS4.

The best playstation controller.

Graphics are good but not unbelievable esp. at 30fps. Kinda just looks like I expect.

Some of you forget this generation has barley been tapped so far because of cross gen and long dev times

Game probably sucks.

In terms of the graphics, they are very impressive and show what is possible on modern consoles with competent developers. Other games take forever to develop for and still aren't as polished as this. The graphics department is pulling its weight, hopefully the writers put in as much effort.

An interesting change of marketing.

Going from girlboss/supporting dude to leading dude/supportive woman.

I wouldn't be surprised if the delay is partly due to Rockstar changing some story elements.
I certainly hope that's the case. The heads of Rockstar have to know that excessive woke shite is tanking the industry. I don't think a woke backlash would make a GTA game bomb, but it would certainly hurt their bottom line.

Hard to tell for me because this was all cutscenes and no gameplay. But what I've seen there was very impressive for the hardware. Draw distance, texture detail, lighting quality, reflections, very good physics for hair, bodies (fat, muscles etc.) and clothes.

I haven't seen anything coming close on this scale. But again, I expect image quality to take a significant hit during actual gameplay. They have unbelievable resources but hardware limits are hardware limits.

Curious how final gameplay will stack up against this non gameplay trailer.

I also noticed the marketing change. The poster and in fact the trailer as well focused more on the dude than the chick, interesting that they must've felt they had to do that.

I actually prefer the first poster mostly because the second feels like a generic action movie poster, the first one at least had some style posing on top of the muscular car etc.

No way the delay would be to change any story elements if they're major, the timeframe simply doesn't allow for it. I'd say it's more in line with typical Rockstar delays, like the dozen of them that happened with RDR 2. Did anybody seriously expect to come out this year ? I wouldn't even be surprised if it gets pushed to late 2026, again, just like RDR 2.

Even though I was never too big on the GTA series (last one I properly played was Chinatown Wars), I'm actually quite interested in this one, purely for the story and whether they could stick the landing with the Bonnie and Clyde concept, it's a refreshing idea. I'm especially interested in their execution without key figures like Michael Unsworth, Dan Houser and Lazlow Jones who left the company after RDR 2, it'd be the first the game without them so I'm interested in if they can still pull it off (both Red Dead games continue to have some of the best writing in all of gaming).

Perhaps I should properly revisit the series where I left off, Ideally I'd only be doing story missions though as I'm generally tired of open world wandering, but from my 100 hour playthrough of RDR 2 I know it's a disservice to only play the story missions for these games, I'm conflicted here, lol.

Or, the occam's razor-ish explanation has the first trailer focused on introducing Lucia, so the promotional material had her front and center. This trailer had Jason as the focus so....the marketing material has him front and center. This is a far more realistic explanation than "Rockstar delayed the game for 6 months to somehow miraculously make major changes to the story and tone of the game because it is eliminating woke". I think you guys are thinking wayyy too much into this.

Second trailer, both long and extensive, a year before release, zero gameplay.

I wouldnt fault you for thinking this way, considering it's been like 19 years since gtav released and easy to forget but...this is par for the course eh. Rockstar has released their trailers in this vain for nearly two decades. Gtav ddopped their official "gameplay trailer" a whopping two months before release. Prior to that it was setting up the characters and the story. It played put the same way with rdrii. Same with gtaiv iirc. It was three or four months before release when gameplay in a trailer was shown.

I know. Many in the industry do this.

And I hate it.

Most of use would prefer to see the game play graphics, not the cutscene graphics.

Yeah and that's what Im saying, judging by years gone by it'll come. Rockstar has a specific formula for their games and we must all wait like muppets until gameplay is dropped.

I know it's not fair bc no one else on the planet can spend $2B and a decade making a game, but holy fuck do they seem to be the only company that has figured out the PS5 properly lol

Looks amazing, especially like it seems more story focused.

Make the best single player game you can, then build on that with online afterwards.
