* XSX has 10% performance advantage over PS5 with RT ON (reconstructed 4k)
* XSS avg 40s with RT ON (1440p)
* Everything else is identical
It's interesting how close both continue to perform.* XSX has 10% performance advantage over PS5 with RT ON (reconstructed 4k)

10% performance advantage! Fuuuuuuu
Pre order cancelled and throwing mine and @Mista 's PS5s off the balcony.
This alone validates my decision to come over here. DF does great work and it is so nice to see a DF thread without maligning them, conspiracy theories or shilling accusations.So refreshing to have a DF thread without the console warriors. Watching video now.
Refreshing is an understatement. There are a few people who genuinely want to have a discussion, then you have the other 98.5% of people who identify as console warriors.So refreshing to have a DF thread without the console warriors. Watching video now.
Yeah. I don't really think I've ever seen a publisher lowball their game, rather the opposite, so it kind of makes me wonder if the game will keep up this performance for the entirety.60fps with RT on is impressive. Didn't they say 45fps before? Anyways, game looks impressive for a cross-gen game.
Definitely. If there's a heavy scene/segment with lots of stuff going on it'll 100% dropYeah. I don't really think I've ever seen a publisher lowball their game, rather the opposite, so it kind of makes me wonder if the game will keep up this performance for the entirety.
Maybe at some point, you come to some place with crazy lighting and all kinds of reflections, and that 45 FPS crash does happen.
It's probably the most interesting part of these comparisons at this point, as nobody is entirely sure what to expect, especially over time. 1080p, 1440p, 60 FPS, 30 FPS, RT On, RT Off, it tends to land anywhere.SeriesS though, I can't imagine how this thing will perform in 4+ years.

I do wonder if time could be an ally to the Series S and not an enemy. Whereas it has to brute force it's way through these cross-gen games, later games specifically made with next-gen in mind and using all the next-gen tricks the Series S was designed for, may have it doing well?
It really is going to depend, and have to be something we see play out.
Yea, it doesn't look like they spent the RT budget very well.. It really seems non-existent. I'll get a better look on Friday.I think it is very impressive. Especially since this is a cross gen game.
Personally if I was playing on console, I think I would be going ray tracing off. Got to have that steady frame rate.
I was thinking the same, as the lighting doesn't really seem to be there most of the time. But at least my framerate with everything maxed out, drops to high 80's at the very minimum. This is at 3440x1440 res. Trying to score a super ultrawide soon though, so the number will only dropYea, it doesn't look like they spent the RT budget very well.. It really seems non-existent. I fully agree, but I do want to say that while we make sure our rules are followed, and threads don't devolve into chaos and misery, all opinions are welcome at the end of the day.This alone validates my decision to come over here. I feel like RE8 VR, when the new one comes out, is almost an inevitability, if they can do another amazing port. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them give the game's sales a shot in the arm down the road with something like this.Looks solid. I think not having a VR mode this time around is a miss for Sony, as it really gave PSVR legs.
I've got this pre ordered on PC. Should be able to do native 4k, Ray tracing on hopefully.
