I just finished Act 1. I freaking knew they were going to do that! It's my bad for looking at "character combat builds" and deducing the outcome from the lack of "builds" for that one character.
I haven't looked at anything since so I'm fresh for Act 2 and 3. I have some theories about where the story is going but I could be wrong. Anyways back to the game, what a wonderful, wonderful game.
I gotta know, how are you guys finding the super pictos once you're in Act III? You using guides or just coming across them? I'm doing this game totally blind and there's just so many places to explore that it seems like dumb luck if you come across something that's really good.
Well if you want a hint....one of the best pictos in the game is on the dark shores. I ran around kiting all the idiots, quickly grabbed it, and yeeted the fk on out of the area.
My sciel is severely lacking lumina from ignoring her most game. She has like 65. Guess I'm lumina farming Clair Obscur after I get done with endless tower. I need to know.....how powerful I can juice Maelle's one shot.....I need.....to know....
Maelle can do.... Billions in damage. Post nerf.
I'm worried ng+ will be stupid easy. I hope that's not the case. While I enjoy deleting bosses in one hit, and it does give a certain satisfaction, it will make the game boring if I'm just running around ending lives just by breathing on them.
The parries do get insanely hard with some of the end game bosses facing 3 at a time to where it's basically max shield up and pray you kill em all before your shields go lol
When I hit Act 3 the first thing I did was the Endless Tower. If you can complete that there's only 1 boss in the game that will pose any challenge.
IMO with how badly I feel they shit the bed with the story if they just gave me an Endless Tower DLC with tons of different fights sans story I'd be all about it.
So ...if starting in virtuouse is irrelevant once you get cheater.....what weapon will give Maelle the most damage for stendhal....everyone keeps saying medalum OP but they fixed the damage bug it had so I wonder why it's still the best.
Why would starting in virtuous stance be irrelevant with the cheater picto? It's all about that first attack, you buff Maelle and put everything into the first hit. Starting with virtuous stance provides another big damage boost.

Also because it's expensive to hire Charley Cox for a full game

OKAY.....using the one picto doesn't activate SOS pictos and that's complete bullshit. Has to be a bug.
Why would it? It makes 1 HP your max HP, so you're either at 100% health or dead.

Oh shit....you just made me realize....deaths door doesn't proc using this then. Wtf is the purpose of the one pictos?!?!
It's probably primarily intended to be used as a Picto for the high crit bonus. I suppose it could also sorta kinda come in handy for buffs that trigger when you're at max health. There's probably some cool combo out there.
Alright....I want Simon dlc.....and I want to wreck everyone with him.
That's actually a really cool idea!
I am such an idiot. I'm running around looking for Stendhal thinking it was a picto. Started the Endless Tower last night thinking I needed to complete it to get it there. Then I go into Maelle's skill tree to change her loadout and see that it's a blasted skill. Been playing all of Act III without that equipped /facepalm. Of course, after I equip it, I immediately see why everyone loves to use it.
It's disgustingly over powered, Verso is my only other character that comes close to the same damage, and close means like 10-20% of Stendhal
I finished this tonight. I was really hyped up for it, but didn't enjoy the combat much so it took me awhile to play through it. I don't like how everything relies on twitch reactions. It got very boring quickly for me. Had the game had a more traditional battle system for me it probably would have been a near perfect score. But with the combat it has I have to knock a couple points off. I'd probably rank it somewhere around a 7.5/10.
I really enjoyed the art style, music, world, characters and love what they did with the world map.
