some things:
stars on olympus = glorious
can pickup bolts without use command
pistol feels like it's finally where it belongs, locked fire rate and higher damage without hops = john wick mode w / peacekeeper
fuse's double knuckle is stronk, can easily wall fights to evade, heal, press the advantage
valk's radar works right off the drop ship, especially helpful for leaders who like to stay ahead of entropy
no more balloons on olympus
shattered 30 puts it in a strange place between the scout and shotguns
bow is to my knowledge the first and only silent weapon which may befit players like pathfinder, revenant, caustic
loba is a killer now, won't be surprised if she ends up among the best legends of the season
will post more thoughts later, now it's onto arenas and ranked

arena is rock solid
it's not the titanfall replacement i thought it'd be, much closer to something like cstrike meets tfc but that's fine if it means the game stays active enough for a proper sequel
i like that all your gear is zapped after each round, let's you weigh opportunities and reconsider various metas. the only thing i don't like about the mode is waiting around fielded zones at the corner of the map. put your damn dropships to use, respawn.

the early phase is fun now partly because people get right after it. even the bique is not to be fucked with. lots of early retreating and healing taking place to accompany the addition of #free armor, syringes and cells ...
10/10 season, i would say the best ever. respawn managed to make every gun uniquely competitive in an open world and trashed all the useless time sinks that keep you out of fights or beholden to 'rng'.

valk's jet-fighter hud is shared meaning squad mates can benefit. missile swarm needs a lot of vertical clearance. vtol takes about 8 seconds to juice, 10 seconds on empty with a flight time of 7 seconds or more if you use the swarm to hover or melee cancel to dive

Season 9 has more people playing Apex Legends than ever.
So now that we have had a few days with arenas, how is everyone liking it so far? I've grown fonder of it over time. It's a good way for me to improve with the Wingman in a live scenario. Had a 7 win streak going last night playing with two friends. It can be pretty painful solo queuing it though. Seems like randos forget about the ping function completely in that mode.
Apart from the initial server woes, this has been the best update to the game so far.

If they do anything other than lower the headshot damage, I see it becoming useless. 112 to 100 would be fair enough.

The moment Respawns starts giving in to these crying esport cunts is when the game is going to die.
