I am on Android, but only because a friend of mine presents me his old work phones every other year. Which are even though 2 years old by then massively overpowered for the little things I do on there.

I had iPhones before, and really I don't care for either.
OS differences are so minimal these days.

Android. My phone is a Galaxy S23 Plus, about halfway through the contract.

I do have an iPad Mini, so I have no issue with iOS.

I used to be an Android guy. But honestly ever since buying an iPhone 12 I love that everything just works. Don't care to customize stuff on my phone like i do on PC's

Google security sucks. They litterally spy on you so no thanks. I can't plan my World conquest on an Android device. I used to have Sony phones and tablets with Android but made the switch for good in 2020.

I'm on both. Android phone and an iPad pro.

However, after several years of the above, I just today ordered a Tab S9 Ultra.

My son dropped the iPad breaking the screen and it has some bleed, so it's a bad break. And I lost my Apple Pencil a few months ago which came in really handy for work.

I had a brief "fuck apple" moment and found a tab S9 ultra with the keyboard available for £200 more than getting the iPad fixed/Pencil replaced.

I will definitely appreciate the extra functionality. I just hope it is compatible in general use to the iPad.

Now I get the name sub woofer.

Bought an iPhone 15 pro max before having an iPhone XS. Hope the new one won't let me down for at least 5 years. :)

I use Apple because it's Easier with calendar sharing with family and all that. Ultimately I really don't care. I don't use the phone for gaming or anything like that. I try to avoid staring at my phone all day. Basically it's just more convenient for me to use an iPhone.

I don't know anyone who kept their Android phone going for even half as long.

My Xiaomi RedmI Note 4 (China?!?!1 better run, Americans!!1) which I got in 2017 was still going even when I decided to upgrade on a whim 2 years ago. Most people don't hold on to their phones until they die on them, they upgrade way sooner than that, that's especially true for iphone users. That's why you "don't know anyone who kept their Android phone going for even half as long."

Please tell me you guys are mostly Android chads

I don't like getting ripped off so Android.

True, the rest of my family whom are apple tards, whenever I resell their iphones it's usually half or more of the price of the next iphone they drool over.

Have you calculated the price difference? iPhones being supported for longer + high resale value is usually a better investment than an android phone.

iPhones being supported for longer

But enough with the links, I don't consider investing in iPhones (or any expensive phone) better, I can just buy any cheap Lite model of whatever is highly rated at the time I get a new phone, which will be running Android, and I immediately install LineageOS on it which means updates till the end of time basically. Instead of the artificial benefit of paying more because it has high value, this also goes into my use case for phones being calling, browsing the internet and a half decent camera. So nothing fancy is needed.

Always had Android phones. Once upon a time, I was marvelled by how Apple did the original iPhone but Android phones definitely have their own thing now and are a viable choice.

Had my current phone for 4 years this coming August. (Xperia 1ii) Will likely try and snag Sony's latest Xperia model, the Xperia 1vi, when it releases this summer.

I've messed with Android a few times over the years and despite liking some features, it's hard to beat the ease of use of the iPhone. I'm just not a "power user" when it comes to my smartphone.

I sell Cell phones for a living. I have my entire adult life. I usually get a new phone at least every year, sometimes twice a year so I only have short term outlooks on individual phone models. Longest I've kept a single phone is about a year.

My work phone is an S23 Ultra and my personal is an iPhone 15 Pro.

Gun to my head I pick the iPhone but the galaxy is a phenomenal work phone.

I DESPISE Apple behind the scenes. They are a nightmare to work with business wise and the commissions on iPhones are minimal (but they are a volume product).

I HATE google pixel hardware. Worst QA of any major manufacturer on the market.

Neither, hate Google more than Apple and had a iPhone before getting rid everything .
Apple products just works and last forever

First two smart phones were Android, but iOS is just so much more stable. Sure its super restrictive....but the phone works when you need it to. A problem I would have on my Androids sometimes.

But I do love Android on my TV. Much better than most of the proprietary stuff.

Genuinely curious - how is an iphone easier/simpler than Android?

Ive never owned an Apple product

It's not, whenever a family member has some issue on their iphone and they bring it to me - the IT guy in the house - I have no idea what's simpler or easier at all, I can't do most of the simple stuff and I have to ask them how do you do this and that etc.

That's to say it's just different, not one is simpler than the other, if one is used to iOS, they'll find Android alien to them, and vice versa in my case.

There's a lot of outdated/misinformed concepts in this thread to be honest.

Well, my family also owns a lot of other Apple products (MacBooks, iPads, Airpods, Watch etc.) and they all work extremely well together with services like iCloud, iMessage, and Air Drop, etc. to just be able to seamlessly sync and share with each other without having to really set much of anything up.

As a standalone device, I would agree that the iPhone doesn't have much of an upper hand if any against modern Android mainstream flagship devices when it comes to simplicity if all you're doing is some messaging, email, and social media, watching streaming services and YouTube, taking some photos and video, and maybe doing a bit of gaming.

As someone who has had Android phones and iPhones, I think that what really sets iPhones apart is the itunes/music/appleTV store. Buying and owning music and movies is a much more user friendly experience on apple devices compared to android devices. While Android can organise media well, there is just no proper competitor to the itunes/appleTV store. Android is fine if you just rip CDs and movies yourself, but the iTunes store just makes media ownership and organisation a lot easier.

I'm Apple for phones and tablets only. I don't need my phone to be this super customizable and complicated thing. I just need it to work out of the box. Also google is much more big brother than Apple.

However I will likely never own an Apple Laptop ever again for the opposite reasoning.

How is if easier to.use that giant piece of shit iTunes then to plug your phone into your PC and drag and drop a file into your phone ? What is this 1984 where 90% of the population haven't seen a computer ?

Android and Apple both have the same interface. Android you can use any files and programs. Apple your stuck with their trash iTunes.

Not only is Android easier you also have more freedom.
Sure I'd your a brain dead normie who sucks Tim apples dong and spends a mark up for crappy music and video files I guess it's easier to pay a premium so you can use iTunes.

Meanwhile you can go and get any movie or song you want and drag 20 GB of files and plop them into your phone and play them on any player you want. But I guess that's too difficult for people who were born before the steneograph was invented.

Best feature is just pick up a phone call on my mac. No need to run or take my phone out, you just answer directly on your desktop. The seemless integration is why Apple products are much better IMO. Plus I love my Apple Watch Ultra. Not having to bring your phone during a trek or kayak run is great.

I've never owned an Apple product and I never will. My wife bought an iPad for mobile drawing a few months ago and the look of disgust I gave her was legendary.

Why? It's really good for mobile drawing.

Dude, it's been ages since iTunes syncing was a thing. You can use plenty of different player apps if you don't like the default option and iOS does support drag and drop adding of files (via cloud or directly to the device). You can plop a bunch of mp4s of ripped movies and play them using VLC or whatever on iOS, for example.
