Thread: All things Disney & General Hollywood News Thread

For what it is worth I do like both RD and JB as well as PF, but the rest of his output over indulgent under edited 'Meh'. A few good scenes here and there, but none left me wanting to ever rewatch them fully versus those scenes.

The best secrets are the hardest to find.

John Krasinski, Natalie Portman, Eiza González and Domhnall Gleeson star in Fountain of Youth – Premiering May 23 on Apple TV+

Fountain of Youth follows two estranged siblings (John Krasinski and Academy Award winner Natalie Portman) who partner on a global heist to find the mythological Fountain of Youth.

They must use their knowledge of history to follow clues on an epic adventure that will change their lives … and possibly lead to immortality.

A long-running TV show with a huge library of episodes making Nielsen's streaming charts is nothing unusual. It happens multiple times each week, in fact.

But a show making the streaming top 10 almost half a century after it last aired? That is a horse of a different color — or black and white, as the case may be.

Gunsmoke, which had a 20-season run on CBS from 1955-75, claimed a spot among the top 10 acquired series on streaming for the week of March 3-9. The show, which streams on Paramount+ and Peacock (which together carry 404 of Gunsmoke's 635 episodes), amassed 646 million minutes of viewing time for the week, good for eighth place among library shows. Not surprisingly, the show's audience skews older than the average streaming series: Nielsen says about half its viewers are 65 or older.

While this is Gunsmoke's first top 10 appearance, the series has been a solid streaming draw for some time. It had more than 10 billion viewing minutes in 2024.

Just goes to show, audiences are up for old fashioned MANLY entertainment like Gunsmoke and Reacher (amazed that it's the top streaming show to date). None of that DEI infested slop like Amazon's Rings of Power or Netflix's The Witcher.

In another stunning display of SJWs just can't help themselves.

So Demons in the Netflix Devil May Cry series are just refugees who Pingu nuthin, just like the Orcs in Rings of Power. Yes, another stunning and brave defense of illegal migrants through lazy allegory. Somewhere JRR Tolkien is rolling in his grave.

At least not all current day media are like this. The manga/anime Frieren: Beyond Journey's End had the appropriate attitude towards Demons.

In the DMC series hell is a stand in for the iraq war. So basically Muslims are demons and Allah is Satan and the Amwricans are bad for fighting Satan and his hell spawned minions....

how they massacred my boy.gif

I won't say it looks good, but the scene with everyone in front of their dad's photos was actually funny.

Maybe it's got a chance, but it'll obviously not have the same feel of the old Naked Gun movies.

It got a chuckle out of me. Especially that last one. I hope comedy can make a comeback finally.

Why is it that conversations about the direction of children's entertainment are just completely dismissed?

Did nobody read The BFG, The Hobbit, Harry Potter, Watership Down etc as kids?
Did nobody watch quality movies made by the best animators, musicians and actors in the world when they were growing up?

Is it not a valid thing to talk about that todays kids are being fed brain-dead slop content?

This is a problem right? Where I could say that maybe the quality of kids entertainment is shocking and at times the entertainment marketed to kids is nothing more than very unsubtle propaganda and some prick is like "neh neh neh were your feelings hurt by the girlie princess movie".

Isn't it funny how they pull out this excuse ad nauseum to somehow say that fairy tales are just stupid entertainment 'for children?' When the entire point of the original fairy tales (which were much darker) was to help instill good morals in children by teaching them that bad behavior has consequences. Baffling how many supposedly creative people have lost sight of the entire purpose of storytelling - to put yourself in the shoes of someone else and learn from their mistakes (which is why the whole representation movement is ass backwards). Anytime someone says something this stupid, you can tell that they don't have any real principles or moral compass of their own.

So how is a team of at max captain America powers supposed to stop someone like this ?

Movie totally has Suicide Squad vibes where a bunch of underpowered z grade heros are sent to fight a world ending super powered being.
The trailer literally says he is more powerful than the avengers combined but I guess not black widow and female task master will nag him till he surrenders

Whoever says gays are more creative is a retard. Everything the rainbow flag "creates" just takes something previously made or some previous event and makes it about being gay.

They're bipolar. They be like, "Stop being a bigot and judging me because I'm gay!" And in the next breath: "Hey everybody look at how GAY I am!"
