As somebody who loves Disney + and can name a ton of shows that I've enjoyed I can say that as of late I've certainly watched a lot less Disney +....

-Original Content I liked: Big Shot, Mighty Ducks, Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, Willow
-Still tons of content I might like I haven't watched, my choice
-Lots of really Meh movies from your flagships

If Star Wars isn't leaning into the force-stuff, I'm typically out. All recent Star Wars movies/shows have been more on the disappointment side with a glut of them to watch they've diluted the brand beyond the saturation point for even die hards

Marvel movies/shows have done the same thing Marvel Comics did awhile back.....start rebranding all your successful white super heroes with female/ethnic characters instead and the fanbase fades away.

Thor Love and Thunder was a bad movie, Wakanda 2 was a bad movie, the Eternals was a bad movie, Doctor Strange 2 was decent but not great, Shang Chi was not great

It's essentially like going to a Disneyland theme park......you pay 15$ for a really shitty plain hamburger that would cost 3$ at a high school cafeteria and wonder 1. Why you paid so much and 2. Why they would sell such a shitty product.

The difference is when you're in the theme park you're trapped......ANYBODY can recognize what a shittier deal Disney+ is becoming and the exit button is a click away.

Let's see why this could be:

One of Disney's top bosses has spoken candidly about pilots the company passed on due to a lack of diversity in their scripts.

"I will tell you for the first time we received some incredibly well-written scripts that did not satisfy our standards in terms of inclusion, and we passed on them," Dana Walden, Walt Disney Television's Chairman of Entertainment, said during a panel discussion last week, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

  • Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution went from an $808 million profit to a $10 million loss year on year.
  • Linear networks saw operating income decrease 16% which is not good as its the only profitable division of the Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution segment.
  • Streaming saw losses increase from $593 million to $1.053 billion.
  • While Content Sales/Licensing and Other saw losses increase from $98 million to $212 million.

Haha! They deserve the misery they wrought upon themselves

Sounds like all the subscribers that bought the discounted multi year subscriptions at launch are now bouncing.
Plus the people who got it "free" with various purchases and services. Pretty sure verizon gave away like 6months or such in various deals last year.

God damn white supremacy. Better put out a statement talking about how Disney's struggles are a result of systemic oppression. Blaming the audience is a surefire way to win them over.

Part of the problem

I saw the clip about slavery the other day and it is such a huge misrepresentation of actual history is laughable. History is so poorly taught and people accept everything the TV tells them because they don't read and have no ability to think critically.

How does Disney+ have 7000 people working for it? Does that include the production teams of shows?

Edit: I looked it up and I guess it's 7000 from Disney as a whole.

Good news.

Disney shouldnt have its own service. Put those movies on other services. Rent them out and make money off that. I share Disney+ with my brothers, but I keep taking a look and there's just nothing. All the new, original content sucks, unless you're a Star Wars-fan or woke. I wish I were hyperboling, but I'm not.
