Let's appreciate for one second the very fair pricing here. 49.99 on all platforms, while most other games charge +10 bucks on current gen consoles. And this isn't some kind of short mid tier game.

Hopefully the pc version has HDR this time around. I actually played the series x version for the first game because it had more consistent performance(less stutter) and HDR. Also it was only one of a handful of games my wife both enjoyed watching and playing.

I'd bet it has HDR on PC but couldn't find anything to confirm it. Can tell you in three more days I guess.

It was claimed earlier on Twitter by an individual with early access to A Plague Tale Requiem that both the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are capped at a frame rate of 30fps. However, it was later refuted by others early copies of the game that this is not the case, and the game targets a frame rate of 60fps.

That said, there are occasions of frame rate dips, even with the day one patch installed. As such, it's not quite a stable 60fps, but well above the 30fps cap that it was previously claimed to have applied.

A Plague Tale: Requiem releases in a few days on PC, and here is a video showing the game's first 10 minutes in 8K/Ultra with DLSS 2 on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090.

As we can see, NVIDIA's latest GPU manages to offer 30fps with DLSS 2 Quality Mode in 8K. Without DLSS 2, the RTX 4090 cannot offer playable framerates at that resolution. But hey, we're talking here about 8K gaming (when most PC gamers are not even gaming at 4K).

Xbox Series S: 1080p/30fps | 40fps on 120hz (51,90Gb)

Xbox Series X: 1440p/30fps | 40fps on 120hz (51,90Gb)

PS5: 1440p/30fp | 40fps on 120hz (50,03Gb)

PC: 2160p with Max. Settings (47,07Gb) (RTX 4090, 3080, 3070Ti, 3060Ti, 3050)

- A Tale Plague: Requiem is a true next-gen game and it shows in its demanding performance.

- Consoles run at 30fps in 60hz mode and 40fps in 120hz mode. The game also supports VRR.

- The Xbox Series X version is the most stable on consoles. PS5 has performance issues in some areas (especially in open spaces with rats).

- Xbox Series S has some clipping in shadows, textures, vegetation, draw distance and reflections.

- PS5 and Xbox Series X use very similar graphics settings.

- PC has more vegetation, better ambient occlusion, shadows and anisotropic filtering.

- Loading times are similar on all 4 platforms. - The PC version will receive a ray-Tracing patch soon.

- A Tale Plague is one of the first games with DLSS 3 + Frame Generation support in the RTX40 series. With this technique, we can achieve over 160fps on average with an RTX4090 on Ultra.
- It seems that A Tale Plague: Requiem makes current consoles sweat, giving more modest results than with crossgen games (as expected).

So glad it's getting great reviews. And I'm still bloody pissed that I don't have hardware that can play this.
I played the first game on oneX and was impressed how good it looked, one of the few games where I bothered to take a console screenshot at how good the art was. I'm excited to see what the sequel looks like on PC, one of the true next gen looking games.

Looks great. Hopefully we can get a mod right quick to detransition her jawline.
Wow, I liked your post when I read "jawline" and was about to reply "Yeah, hopefull some modders will de-transition her soon". Then re-read your posting and you already mentioned that, too. You'd be a good friend if you weren't a Republican, Zefah.
