Thread: 6 months on. How do you feel about the designs of the new consoles?
I'll go jerk off to the ps5 to compare notes on ps5 vs Chloe Moretz. For science!
Just be careful with the disc tray. The one weird thing about the PS5 when you stand it up is that it seems like you have to put your dick in upside down for it to work.

I feel ok with them honestly. My ps5 sits cozily there, just fine, the blue light while it's on attracts more attention than it's design, so... i'm fine with it.

The Switch, it feels lovely. Aside of reaolution disputes, it feels fine to hold handheld, although individual joysticks are too small for my hands to play well enough.

As for Xbox Series, i've dabbled a bit on my nephews, but not enough to judge. I will say though, I've enjoyed my time with gamepass on my XONE.

I'm a happy camper overall.

The PS5 would have been more convincing if it were the size of the launch 360 - currently it's the console equivalent of two Japanese guys pointing at the OG xbox and laughing dot jpg. Most of the fan renders looked better than the real thing.

The Series consoles are unremarkable looking but that allows them to dissolve into their surroundings which is a benefit.

Possible revisions should be interesting.

I've never really cared about that sort of thing, I appreciate the console designs I think are nice, like many of the PS4s, the PS2 Slim and the PSOne but if it doesn't tickle my tits one first glance then I don't really pay attention, it would have to be super ugly or annoying from a logistical perspective to get on my nerves. Its like music for me, I generally know whether I like it after 5-10 seconds of hearing it.

For PS5, I only see it when I changed discs as well, because its hidden behind the TV thats tilted towards me. I just don't care about house decoration in general, if it doesn't fit in my "media cabinet" then I have it sitting on top, gathering dust. My whole living room setup is basically just a PC setup on a larger scale and yes I have no partner lol.

My previous squeeze didnt really care or at least never brought it up so I've been lucky like that.

The Switch I only use on the TV when I play it so hardly ever see that either, but controller design-wise I do quite hate the joycons when used sideways, thats just a bad feeling way to play imo. I should really buy some of those grips you can get to make playing with my niece a lot more enjoyable, but to be honest the way we play - running in circles doing silly stuff, swimming in the ocean for 30 mins in a game where you dont ever have to go in the ocean for any reason lol ie not really progressing in the game - its not like I am constantly feeling that the control scheme is hampering my ultra-god-gamer prowess.

The XSX does look really clean but having had PC towers that look like a bigger version of it for year now (Fractal Design) I find it quite boring and it looks shit when on its side due to the stand imo. The PS5 is like a modern art piece, I don't hate it or like it because of the reasons I stated above about design but if it wasn't a functional product and it was just a visual piece of art I'd probably be like "ohh thats... unusual, each to their own I guess!".

Its hard to even muster the words here to describe how I feel about console design though, because I really don't care as long as its functional. If I think its cool then bully for me!

I give 2 literal shit's what it looks like. In keeping with the thread, I'm cool with its size/shape. I lay my PS5 down just because I'm terrified of it getting bumped and dropped, and because of my entertainment stand limitations.

I agree, but please don't give us any "literal shits", I don't want any shits, thank you.

I think the PS5 is one of the ugliest things ever put on the market. I like the way the Series S/X look.

That being said, I'll purchase a PS5 before an XBOX console. I also think that MS is far more interesting right now than anything that Sony is doing.
