Last year was a disaster for PC games - here's how things need to change
Digital Foundry presents its recommendation to PC game developers in delivering better ports after a dire 2022.

- Eliminate shader compilation stutter
- Deliver visually responsive graphical options
- Include sensible, convention-driven menu navigation
- Do not overly nest menus
- Refresh rate and resolution should be separate options
- Include a field of view (FOV) option
- Include variable aspect ratios and frame-rates
- Include half, third and quarter-rate v-sync options with consistent frame-pacing
- Include multiple quality levels for heavy effects
- Include console features such as dynamic resolution scaling
- Include HDR and surround sound if the console versions support them
- Include console-equivalent settings as an option
- Support all major image reconstruction technologies
