Pretty sure I read that Wii U development was complete when it was decided to port it to the Switch. Then they had to go back and remove the second screen.

It doesn't matter, many games has started on previous consoles and then development move to next console. Due end of life or due needing more power. In this case WiiU failed and BotW development was fast tracked to release at launch. Hence the Cross Gen label. This part of debate is running in circles.

Which also points to Nintendo being efficient, to be able to do this knowing WiiU is done and Switch will be main console going forward. And have 6 new exclusives first year.

All though Mario Kart is not my preferred launch game, I'm enjoying it. I'm not going to debate which Kart is best. I'm casual Kart player but I enjoyed them with friends a families. It's worth it because we will play this until Switch 2 is done. Just like we played MK8 for over 10yrs

Nintendo has won me over last 8yrs of Switch. So I was ready for Switch 2 launch and I know Nintendo will bring the games. I'm currently having fun and that's all that counts!

I want to thank the gaming community for cementing the $80 game standard. Looking ahead to the future, these people are. Mario Kart World being expensive to develop isn't the customers fault. Like it took them 7 years to make that Zelda game that uses the same engine and many of the same assets, they are just not being very efficient and that's not the customers fault.

As for being cheap, just don't buy the system at all because once you do you'll buy games for it.

The person i responded to said handhelds were the "budget" option. I assume thats in the 30 to 40$ range. 3DS games were what 29.99 to 39.99 ???
80$ price point wont ever be justified to gamers even if Nintendo spent 10 billion on the game it is what it is. Nintendo being the first mover on the price increase. I just have no plan of hacking this thing. At least not any time soon. It would be years after the generation ended before I'd think about hacking it and by then, the hack will disable any ability Nintendo has to brick it.

I have many, many, issues with the modern gaming industry but there are still some decent titles here and there.

Regardless of what we think the Switch 2 is obviously connecting with people in some way.

Thanks for the tips. I don't know why HDR is still so clunky to calibrate. They should just show the brightness value directly so you can measure it more accurately.

Xbox has a much more intuitive setup. Unfortunately it has to be done because HDR displays vary greatly. The good thing is once you have it dialed it it's set and forget. The first screen is easy enough to setup, the paper white config you just have no idea if you set it up correctly.

I know this guy is a long time favorite, but I can't stand his videos. He rambles on in a monotone voice forcing tons of info you don't actually need because he has to hit the youtuber meta in terms of video length.

You could boil this 10 minute video down into like 2 sentences for people trying to set up HDR on their system. For people who find the "why" interesting, ok fine, but for people trying to find settings, his videos are awful.
