Reverse. Foolish idiot Amazon drivers were openly bragging about leaking Nintendo Switch titles weeks early.
Needlessly to say Nintendo was not happy about people in the Amazon supply chain constantly leaking their games, right to up to mainline Zelda Tier games like Tears of the Kingdom, early.
Nintendo proceeded to blacklist Amazon on pretty much all of their new pre-orders for games and apparently consoles.

It's weird but I almost hope I get a Gamestop preorder so I can do the midnight launch pickup. That just sounds so old school at this point and my days off line up for that.

Nothing weird about it. I missed standing out late at night, nerding out with a bunch of people who love this hobby and seeing all the people from different walks of life brought together. The PS5 and Series X launches felt so sterile, no launch lines, just go to customer service and unceremoniously pick one up, or even worse yet — have one thunked on your doorstep.
A real launch means you go wait in a line. I'm stoked for it.

The way they're speaking about that controller, I gotta buy one now. I was just going to get the system and Mario Kart World to start but they are marveling over the features. Which is surprising because the Pro Controller already is basically a top 2 controller ever made but now it sounds like they perfected it. Incredible work Nintendo is doing with this launch; great system, great games, and now the controllers are top notch it seems. Can't wait for launch and the inevitable June/July Nintendo Direct that will showcase the summer and holiday games lineup

I read somewhere that Nintendo didn't like Amazon's inability to lock down their leaky delivery guys.

So I help my brother by selling things on ebay for him to get new console launches and things like that.
He said he had a 20th Anniversary Pokemon edition Nintendo 3DS in his closet. I figured ok a 3DS, maybe we get 100 bucks for him. Nope, it turns out that this thing is worth a lot of $$. It sold this morning for a little over $1200
So he's got his Switch 2 fully paid for and will be getting accessories and games and expanded memory and all that shit too. Now I gotta figure out how to justify paying for my own Switch 2 lol
Joke's on him. There's no way this thing is going to be cooler than the 3DS

It will be. It's so much fun when you are all signed in on all the tabs, you got your wallet stuff ready in advance, you're there at the millisecond that the clock strikes midnight, and then the website hangs for 3 minutes, and when it comes back to functionality, everything is sold out and only bots were able to buy them all. WORTH IT!
Just remember before you shell out 90$ for physical games on the Switch 2 how little quality control there is when they make this stuff and ship it out. You may end up with a "brand new" copy of a game like this:
and before someone inevitably tells me that this is rare, it's not. I have had several physical Switch games with this bullshit of cover art not being placed properly in the plastic. Sometimes they cut the sheets so large they CAN'T fit neatly into the plastic. Oh, and then there's the instructions. Don't buy iam8bit editions of physical games, they have a habit or making giant instruction manuals and then SQUEEZING them inside the game case which of course does damage to the manual.
Assuming the game in question even HAS an instruction manual as so many companies are too cheap to spend the money on paper. The Messenger reprint DOESN'T have one, even though the original release came with one.

This case arrived today. It smells like china but I really like it. The inside has some really soft fake felt lining. I hope they got the dimensions right because I'll be out of the return window by the time it gets used.

When OG Switch came out I bought nearly everything right out the gate. I've waffled enough but if I can get get a preorder I'm locked in for Switch 2 w/MK World and nothing else.
Likely future buy with a pro controller and memory card I figure at launch I'll only be playing MKWorld and use my OG Switch Pro controller.

I'm getting a MK bundle, pro controller, and GameCube controller. Holding off on memory because it will only get cheaper and I'm only interested in first party games on it and those tend to not be massive.

I'm interested in CyberPunk, it'll be the only true physical version. Especially if it doesn't require a first day download to work. Sad that I had to say that these days!

I'm considering the bundle as well. I usually only go digital like 1% of the time and try to avoid it but I'm not trying to take the MKW NS2 game chip in and out 500-1k times each year. That's a game a lot of people will be wanting to play here and there often with others

One of my nieces or nephews lost my BOTW cartridge a few years ago. One of the few games I went physical on. I'm pretty much all digital now unless there is some great sale on a game I don't see myself going back to.

Nope, they are in town and staying at my parents and have taken over the tv room with it.
I am going to be honest. We are just over a day from actually being able to pre-order in the US... and I am starting to consider not getting one at launch.
Not sure what has changed, MKW looks dope, DK looks like a blast and the $450 price seems fair (enough). But without even thinking about it, my enthusiasm waned over the weekend.
The only thing that has me still considering it is the fact that MKW bundle gets the game at $50 instead of the (mentally) painful $80 and the fact that I could just resell it on ebay and make and easy dollar.

Still need to see 5 incredible reveals for the Switch 2 before going for it.
Need to see Zelda, Xenoblade 4/X-2, Fire Emblem Three Houses Successor, ect.
Metroid Prime 4 Beyond has been known for a while, looks good but is not a suprise.
Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza both look amazing, but are not priority franchises for me.
Pokemon looks like garbage. Gamefreak can give a good Black and White Remake or screw off.
Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster is a good one, but also near certain multiplatform.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment kind of, depends on what they do. Need a better roster then whats been shown, and a way better story then what we got in Tears of the Kingdom.
