Thread: Path of Exile 2: Here we go!
What I wonder is how they pay for the game... is it just supported by cosmetics?

Cosmetics and QoL items (more item storage, organized item storage, aka stash stabs)

If you spend $60-$100 (over the course of time) you'll have more than you'll ever need, however they keep making such cool shit each league, so you keep buying more and it helps fund the game.

This is the shop (anytime you buy a supporter pack for say $30 or $60 whatever, you get all the cosmetics in the pack + the full value $30 or $60 etc in shop points to spend on more cosmetics)

PoE is one of the very few that makes their financial transactions truly optional and for QoL. Do you ever need them? Not really but if you find you like the game and spend large amounts of time in it then it's really pennies on the dollar for the amount of hours you have invested.

IMO they should be charging 20-30$ for the base game but because they actually figured out how to make a 'diablo-like' better than anything diablo has ever conjured it justifies these mf'ers deserving to make some good coin. Also all the stuff you paid for in PoE transfers over to PoE2 in some form which is pretty awesome and definitely more consumer friendly than 99% of these MTX vampires.

Decided on Merc - Witch Hunter for my first go thru

Did anyone buiy the "The Lord of Ogham Supporter Pack"?

Crazy overpriced at like 55 bucks but.... kinda cool.

You know, I've got about 800 hours into the game and I just found out that the supporter packs actually save your progress as you buy them... Even the 30 dollar early access fee saves your spot on the supporter pack tier list. So if you only buy that and you find that you enjoy the game then it subtracts that from the other supporter packs if you want them... AND you get the full amount of points to spend in the shop AND you get every previous tiers rewards if you jump tiers...

I never play games with heavy micro transactions so I only really have POE to go by but wow, that blew my mind.

Also, I spent around 500 hours playing the game without buying a single stash tab. It can get annoying organizing all your loot yourself but it's definitely possible... However, oh maaaaaan do those tabs make you feel like you've been unshackled and you'll be smacking yourself wishing you'd have done it sooner. (though then you also might not appreciate them as much) I haven't bought any but the cosmetics are also pretty sweet. They really put a lot of effort into particles and special effects and there are so many that you can mix and match that you see a whole lot of unique looking setups in the towns and such. Every once in a while there will be events where they will give mystery chests (loot boxes) with randomized sets of loot which is where I've gotten all of my cosmetics and pets so far.

I believe they've also said that PoE could be profitable with as low as 10k players. So they run a really really tight ship. If I remember right Chris Wilson said PoE has been supported by only eight people for the last few years while they rest of the company works on PoE2.

#1 Selling game on Steam right now, hopefully this isn't a D3 launch but almost impossible to be prepared for this kind of login onslaught

A log in queue will go up 1 hour before launch. There have been issues on some league launches that are usually resolved within a few hours but generally speaking they do a good job with launches / servers. They have a decade of experience doing it.

Pre load is live on all platforms. PS5/XBOX/STEAM/PC STAND ALONE

If you pre load and launch the game you can fiddle with your settings before it goes live

How are queues and server stability? Thinking about jumping in.

edit: nevermind, not up yet. Just got an email from Steam saying it's already available.

keep getting errors to all servers besides Texas. Texas tells me it is connecting then errors out.... talk about a dick tease

Getting errors right at login but able to get all graphics settings dialed in.....honestly I'm happy for this just for GGG's sake because if anybody is really seeing this it's Blizzard shitting in their pants. That D4 DLC gonna be F2P real soon

You're good. They haven't turned on the login servers yet. They are getting the log in database ready so it's not a clusterfuck when they open the gates
