Thread: Path of Exile 2: Here we go!
Yea I did quite a bit of PoE and it was amazing but definitely felt like I had missed the boat being so late to it. This game is going to completely engulf D4 come December 6th. Don't be shocked if Blizzard doesn't throw their DLC out 50+ % off just to stave off early access but it wont matter.

FOMO gonna ravage my soul on this game

I have decided I am going to take release day off and go no life. I expect to be disappointed with log in Queues but I will just read some books while I wait.

Incredible interview. I am so freaking hyped. He talks about how the game is inspired by Elden Ring and the shortcoming of PoE 1.

It looks like they are bringing some skill back to arpg instead of just face tanking with higher stats which I think is sorely missed. It's what inevitably has made a lot of these isometric action rpgs boring to me in the end because you really don't have to pay much attention.

I hope it turns out great.

The first game was great, but sadly not for me. I have spend some coins on cool skins, but man it's just too time consuming.

Layers of mechanics upon mechanics, not explained well in the game, have to use a pre made build, taking all the exploration away, and just a thousand currencies.

I've heard they made skill gems easier and will rely more on just gold in the future, but I want a simple game I can just enjoy.

Been revisiting d4 again and are actually enjoying it. But Poe fans are really just ruining everything.

Check reddit. Check steam forum. Check the official forum. Every Poe player just straight up attacks everything.

It really just sucks all the fun out of gaming. I might be skipping getting vessel of hatred because of all the hate.

But it ain't getting me hyped on Poe at all, actually quite the opposite.

This is some serious GAF behavior.

Im sorry I am derailing the Poe thread.

But I'm cheering for the game. Its a great game, just not for me.

Fuck em. Enjoy what you want. I know it can get annoying as shit with everything being a competition.

No reason both games can't coexist.

Poe 2 is working on making the more difficult aspects of the game easier to understand. No ides what that means but I do enjoy seeing the devs so passionate about wanting to release a game meant for the player. Reminds me of the old days

Yeah, it's not like their goal is to kill off d4. In the video he said his goal is to make a game he wants to play and they believe the pieces will just fall into place. There is more than enough room for both games. People just get very tribal about their hobbies and passions.

I do think poe 2 will be the game I enjoy more though. The wasd controls will actually be one of the bigger reasons for me personally. That and being able to switch to gamepad or steamdeck and use twin stick controls.

Not trying to poo poo any fun you've had with D4 as I was pretty hardcore into it for most of last year. It's bothers me to participate in the D4 seasons every 3 months or so they try to get another 20$ out of you for nothing that really adds up to the value. The argument I'd make between buying Spiritborn or Poe2 for 30$ is Poe2 comes with 6 classes that have 2 endgame subclasses and a complete first act that's significantly larger in scale than both 1 Spiritborn class and 10 or so hours of new content.

For 30$ you're going to be able to finish PoE 2's full story... that's a a DLC transaction for D4. I'm not attacking the game so much as the business model. I know what Blizzard is going to do going forward, I'll take my chances on something new.

I have no doubt that Poe 2 is the better game, hands down.

It's just not a game you can grab and have fun for 30 minutes imo. It's very time consuming, which is good depending on who you are.

I was hyped when I heard they would make the game easier, just to find out the huge Talent tree is still there.

Worst thing is, I did a helltide yesterday after writing my post. Wasn't really interesting lol.

Edit - also getting the game for free as I'm swimming in wow gold

I dont know man, personally I dont trust modern Blizzard.

Havent bought the expansion, but it feels like theyve abandoned the game and are focusing on D5 because it has such a bad rep.
Decided to just D2R up again and enjoy it.

Now MTX, easy to get into, no bullshit. The only thing I dislike is its hard to respec, but you cant have everything.

Bumping this thread myself lol, but after seeing Rhykers video about it it seems to fix alot of my concerns.

I'm going d2r until poe 2 releases, and skip d4 expac. I'm just sad that the community is so toxic.

In some cases I think the toxicity is justified example posted below. As somebody who paid for a couple seasons of D4 my honest opinion... PoE is better than D4, Grim Dawn is better than D4, the Last Epoch is better than D4. PoE2 will undoubtedly be better than D4

I've never been somebody who listens to podcaster people I don't even know what to call him but I find this guy fairly on point

The toxicity I am referring to are Poe players spamming the diablo 4 reddit, steam forum and even the official diablo 4 forum, calling people playing d4 for stupid retards that doesn't know what a great game is so they rely on braindead games like Diablo 4.

That's a toxicity that doesn't make people join your community.
Who wants to join a toxic community that sees everyone else enjoying something else as degenerate trash.

Keep in mind, when you buy these packs you also get their $ worth in coins, so if you were planning on buying extra stash tabs, which you WILL need to do if you stick with the game long enough (I'm currently at around 80 tabs after 6k hours in PoE1), all that cosmetic stuff you basically get for free.

I just got the cheapest one, a little way of saying thanks to GGG for giving a shit about this genre. Besides, I am sure there will be plenty of other gear to chase when the full game launches.

Same here on the cheapest one. You know you're going to be dropping some cash anyways if you're going to be committed to this game.

Monk and I bought the cheapest version.

Anyone know the go live times? I'm trying not to jack up my sleep schedule and plan around it.

Didn't even think about it yet. Will decide that spontaneously.

I will be playing 2 classes during the early part of early access Witch/Minions and Sorceress/Lightning? (eventually I will try the others)

Played Minions a bunch in POE 1, and played Arc lightning / Spark builds a bunch in POE 1

Both of these should be easy enough to get the hang of all the new shit in POE 2, I have strong knowledge in playing/building/and crafting for these type of builds as well as Explosive Traps, which isn't in the game yet (but is coming)

When you start POE just follow a build guide and be prepared to learn something new every time you play, every league you play. I have been playing for about 7 years and I still learn new shit every league. It's also a free game, so it costs you nothing to get addicted. My advice is download POE 1 and start messing around with that. If you like that, you'll love POE 2.

What I wonder is how they pay for the game... is it just supported by cosmetics?
