Fantastic to see Fernando in a fast car. He was having so much fun out there and a happy Fernando makes f1 more fun.

Shambles for McLaren, and Ferrari did the same shit again. It's the early 90s all over again for Ferrari.

So what's the deal this year? Verstappen and nobody else has a shot? He's a -340 betting favorite for the title already. Good grief.

Looks like it.
But fight for the second (third?) place with Fernando in the game should be furious.

Basically. Among the drivers there's him, Hamilton and Alonso at the top level, everyone else a tier below (perhaps Lando is there - hard to know just yet). Meanwhile the Red Bull is fast and reliable and the team tends to do well with strategy. Leclerc is ok but not at Verstappen's level and the car is slow and unreliable and hampered by Italians running strategy. Alonso is in an improving Aston but it's not quite there yet. Hamilton is in a Mercedes that isn't fast enough though the team executes its strategies well. Nobody else has the car or driver to challenge, so yeah it's there for the taking for Verstappen given Perez is a very good B-tier driver but not at Verstappen's ridiculous level.

I still think Leclerc is an exceptional driver that could drive on the highest level, but issues with his car and questionable team strategy decisions sucked out the energy and will out of him.

He had a few mistakes last year, but it'd be curious to see how mentally strong is he in the long close battle for the champ during all season.

For me he's clearly better than Sainz but he makes too many mistakes (which could admittedly be due to pushing a poor car but then Alonso's been pushing shit cars for years without those issues). Also he doesn't drive the team strategy in the way other better drivers do - you see Verstappen do it, you see Alonso do it, Leclerc less so.

Yeah, he could've been more persistent in this area and take responsibility in his own hands sometimes. Even Sainz seems to be more involved in strategy questions.

He knows ferrari suck, we all do, the best drivers know when to tell their team to suck their balls.

So... Two ECUs was lost in one race for Leclerc car, and two ECUs are expected to last for the whole season. Now Leclerc faces grid penalty in Jeddah for using the third one, just in the second race of the season.

The Ferrari shitshow rolls on.

She retired right at the start of the season. It's weird. Probably Lewis already decided it's his last year in F1?

Vanity will probably keep him in for a few more years, he's got one of the biggest stages in the world for his attention seeking and virtue signaling. Just as likely he will cling on until he's not physically fit enough to be competitive, he's not even Kimi or Fernando old yet.

Btw, I see F1 22 is on Steam sale for 10 euros. Has anybody tried it? How is the driving simulation? How is VR? Will probably buy it just for the new tracks.

Also, I wonder, do you brake with left foot in F1 simulators or in racing simulators in general? I always brake with right foot like in the real car, but probably need to try left foot braking for better control.

F1 Sucks bro there's like 4 people who comment in this shit thread for this shit sport. Why don't you euro-trash folks develop some class and watch Nascar a true American past time and learn the finer things about racing deals.

The driving is ok, vr performance is iffy on my 1660 super where everything bar Assetto Corsa 2 runs perfectly well (OG Rift). Tbh there's a decent game in there but the jerky VR killed it for me.

Alonso just got fucked.

Aston aren't yet as efficient on race day as Red Bull and Merc sadly. The car is decent but operationally they're not ready. The early Stroll stop being an example.
Macca look absolutely shite (penny for Piastri's thoughts - of course he'll be off if there's a better offer). Ferrari are just slow.

@HariSeldon that result was after quali, the final standings after the weekend is:

Looks like the best result in this game comes from fast cars starting from the back of the field. Too bad I've wasted x3 chip on Alonso this time.

Hope to see other drivers besides Alonso pull some podium finishes this season but at this point I have no clue who would be contending for the championship aside from max. Even then I see him bitching after every turn.

Ferrari will keep doing ferrari shit. Interested to see how the Mercedes is after another race or two.

Mclaren is just ass from what I can see as well

Toto promised total car overhaul before European races, we'll see.

As for Ferrari, I don't know why they hired Vasseur, he looks like a good politician, but how good is he as a team manager? What did he achieve in his career? Not much. He will be fired after this disastrous year, for sure.

Thanks god, we have Aston and Fernando!

And I'm very angry at McLaren for ruining Piastri career.

That'd be fun to watch. Especially woman pit crew members juggling 20+kg wheels during pit stops.
Also, I'm very skeptical about women physical ability to drive a racing distance in modern F1 car competitively. They could give a chance to Jamie Chadwick, she's probably the best female driver in the world now, but she have to try to compete in F2 first. Calderon tried and it was pathetic.

Anyway, every business with gender quotas is doomed.
