For reals. Some solid game announcements/updates... but the events/presentations have been super weak this year. A huge opportunity has been handed to NIntendo... lets see if they can take it home or if they fumble.

Not sure about BRGs, but ERGs are Employee Resource Groups. They are essentially clubs that focus on various "causes". They are also called ENets (Employee Networks). Most gaming companies have them. Mine has a Black one, Veteran one, Disabled one, Latino, Asian, Women.... and I think thats it.

For the most part (in my experience) they accomplish little and spend resources in a way that makes no sense. I assume corp execs see them for the limited ROI (directly) and do them for PR reasons and making employees feeling "validated"

So basically they're a bunch of cliques who make it their business to find reasons to take exception with everyone else.

From my perspective they seem like a backdoor to success in an org. Most people join these groups cuz they are a part of that 'community' and then use the ERG to put themselves in positions they wouldnt normally find themselves. Our ENets get face time with our CEO each year... I have never even been in the same office building with the man.

But yes they are essentially (funded) cliques and not very welcoming to opinions that are not shared by the groups leaders. So they keep like minded folks only and use their congregation as a bludgeon for bullying. Which is funny when you think about it.

I'm not sure about Jensen but I'm fairly sure that Roberta Williams is based. I definitely remember reading some interviews with her where she rejected the left's narrative about women in games.

I don't want to judge her but Jensen has written a number of gay romance novels under the pseudonym Eli Easton. She may have SJW leanings but I don't really know since I don't follow her on social media.

But who cares about their political leanings? The fact of the matter is these two were making videogames at the industry's infancy and thus destroys the NPC narrative that it has always excluded women... which is hight falutin HORESHIT.
